146. Something happened
Herwin opened the door.
The girl put down her book and got off the couch.
Hara shouted happily:
"Hewen, you're back, hey, what's this?"
In his right hand, Hervin was carrying a gold chain, the bottom of which was attached to a pocket watch with strange carvings.
Herwin took the pocket watch back into his hand:
"A bad thing, Hola you have to stay away from it. ”
Hora asked worriedly:
"Hewen, is this something dangerous?"
Hervin and the one-eyed figure carved on it looked at each other for a moment:
"It should be, just don't approach it. ”
There is no magic on the pocket watch, no witchcraft energy, no distortion of ancient worship, no evil aura, and the pattern is only a pattern.
But there are some things, their simple paintings alone that can bring about the terrible shadows of the Outlands.
The erasure of the existence of the old gods is also partly for this reason, and if one can draw an accurate portrait of Odin, it will have strange powers, even if the painting itself was created without the use of any magic.
It's not magic or divine power, if you want to find a name for that power, it can only be said to be the power of Odin itself.
The same goes for pocket watches.
Herwin patted Hara on the head and walked briskly back to his room, placing his pocket watch on the shelf of his desk, then pressing the statue of the giant wolf against it.
Fenrir, of course, too.
He had seen this ancient symbol in quite a few places, he had seen something similar before he was in the profession of a witcher, before he was already in the profession of a witcher, a similar symbol, a variation of a symbol, and he had also heard rumors about it.
Herwin came to the study, and he made it to the high-backed chair, and some of the books on the nearby shelves moved as quickly as if they were mechanically controlled, leaving a vacant rectangular area, and the books he needed floated up to fill the gap.
Hola followed him into the study, sat down quietly across from Herwin, and read with relish a copy of Death and Deception.
Hewen was constantly reading ancient books that recorded the symbol, or referred to it in words.
"Hellsong", "Inhuman Sapient Beings", "Demon Feast", "Esgit's Advice", "Summoning Ritual", "Original Transcript of Primal Fear", etc.
There are countless stories about this symbol, and many primitive tribes in uncivilized lands and some evil esoteric religions have appeared about it, but they have completely different views of its identity.
Some people think it's an abbreviated image of a hell lord, some think it's a chaos god behind the scenes, some say it's a crazy concept born with the universe, and some claim it's an evil life from another universe.
Hewen kept flipping through ancient books, trying to connect the taboo knowledge about the symbol over time, only to find that many of the descriptions of it were patchwork and irrelevant, and there was a lot of contradiction.
It's as if someone is spreading rumors about it, so that people can't find the real origin from it.
It's more like these stories of sworn claims to reveal the truth about ancient demons are jokes, something that the demons themselves use to fool others.
The reason why Herwin cares so much about this symbol is because he has seen it firsthand.
If he could, he would love to find out what the symbol meant.
He kept flipping through the books, trying to find loopholes in the myriad of carefully crafted lies, but found nothing, and when he put his inquiry on hold and looked at the girl asleep at the opposite table, he realized that it was already the next morning.
Herwin put down the half-read ancient book, picked up Hara's lithe body, quietly opened the girl's bedroom door, walked in, let Hera lie on her small bed, and tiptoed to cover her with the quilt.
Keeping his magic working, Hervin silently left Hora's room, and threw the ancient books on the desk onto the shelf, which instantly gave way to its place, accurately catching the 500-year-old book.
Hewen went downstairs alone, ready to prepare a breakfast for the girl who was still sleeping and for himself, he went into the kitchen, took out the ingredients he had prepared earlier, and was about to make a meat feast.
Both Hervin and Hola are fortunate not to have to worry about health and obesity.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
There was an urgent and heavy knocking at the door, and the comer must have been in a very urgent mood.
But Hewen, who was interrupted from cooking, was not in such a good mood.
He put down the spatula and walked to the door, where there was still a heavy knocking sound.
Herwin jerked the door open, and the knocker didn't react, his fist slamming into Herwen's solid chest muscles, and it bounced off hard.
After feeling Herwen's muscles, the uninvited guest's angry expression faded a little and became more gentle.
Standing in the doorway were two students, the man standing in front of him was of medium height with a determined look in his eyes, and the man behind him wore a pair of glasses and had a suave appearance.
The man at the head is none other than Rawfordon, who organized the tracking program in the first place, and the person behind him is his friend, Richard, who majored in sociology.
Roshuton was about to speak, but Hewen questioned first.
Hewen said in an indifferent voice:
"Don't you know what time it is? My niece is still sleeping, why is there such a loud knock on the door?"
Rawton argues on his grounds:
"We have something very important to tell you. ”
Hewen asked with an unkind face:
"What's the matter?"
Luo Hughton says:
"I'm Lordon from Anthropology, and this is my friend Richard, a sociology major, and we're here today for another ......."
Rawton pondered for a moment and chose a word to describe their relationship with Abbas:
"Classmate, his name is Abbas, and he is a student at the School of History. ”
Herwin directly reached out and grabbed Rawton by the collar, and lifted him up easily with one hand:
"You're stalking Hora and threatening and scaring her?"
Rotheton was almost out of breath:
"Misunderstanding!
Hervin let go of his hand and let him fall to the ground, but fortunately Rawchelton held the ground with his hand so that he didn't fall into the mud.
Richard obediently closed his mouth after seeing that Hervin could lift a grown man with one hand, and Rawton was in good health, and he would be fine if he was thrown twice, but he couldn't withstand such an impact.
Roshuton gasped several times before he struggled to his feet:
"We do want to know about you through your niece, but that's not the point now. ”
Herwin looked at them without saying a word.
Rotheton and Richard couldn't help but feel a little weak, but Roshetton still said it:
"Something happened to Abbas. ”
