Still from above, it is a valley surrounded by hills.

In the valley, there are flowing water everywhere, such as waterfalls, pools, springs, streams, lakes, marshes, etc., abound, and all kinds of trees and flowers are full of vitality in this valley with water as the source.

Green, refreshing green.

Clear, clear and calm.

This is not an ordinary valley, this is a spiritual land, and it is the most spiritual land in the entire Dongshan.

Right in the middle of the valley, on the edge of a small lake, there are three thatched huts.

The outside of the thatched hut is either flowers or trees, completely covered with greenery, and from a bird's-eye view, the thatched hut cannot be seen at all, but the interior of the thatched hut is quite exquisite, or made of stone, or wood, or wood and stone.

One of them is Xu Yishan's meditation retreat.

There was only a small door and no windows, and the inside was empty, except for a straw mat spread on the wooden floor.

The other room is the study.

The windows are open on the left and right, and there are a large number of books hanging on the four walls, and those books are all written by Xu Yishan himself.

There is also a room for living and leisure, with a bed, drinks and food.

In this retreat, Xu Yishan's schedule is very regular.

Get up in the morning, walk around the lake and through the valley, and slowly and deeply spit out the old and accept the new among the water, grass and trees full of spiritual energy.

Occasionally, the lord of the county, the high-ranking monk of the first rank, would climb the tree like a monkey on a whim.

Of course, he is not "climbing", and his movements are much more flexible than that of a monkey, just with a light touch of his foot, he will go up to the treetops, or directly to the treetops, and then point to the treetops and stand towards the sun.

Occasionally, he would reach out.

Then, from north to south, east to west, far or near, some of the birds that live in this valley "fly" to his palm, or land in his palm, or hang in front of him.

The high-ranking monk would play a prank like a child, watching the birds frustrate and flee in different ways.

After about two or three hours of activity, Xu Yishan would return to the thatched cottage and spend the morning meditating.

After meditating, Xu Yishan will go to the living cottage.

Sip on a glass of wine or water and take in the views through the wide open window railings, or just lie down in bed and take a nap on all sides.

In the afternoon, Xu Yishan basically spends time in the study.

He would pick up a pen large or small, and write large and small words on a piece of paper, large or small.

Paper, like rice paper.

The pen is the brush.

This is a scene with a similarity of more than ninety percent to ancient Chinese on the earth, and it is not an exaggeration to say that it is even ten percent.

Xu Yishan writes as he likes, and writes at will.

Before this retreat, he emptied all the things he had written in the study, and in this retreat, he was writing at will, combing through the past years, past cultivation, and practice.

"The book is the practice, the practice, the law, and the Tao. ”

On the first day of retreat, picking up the pen, Xu Yishan looked at the lake and mountains outside the cottage, thought for a while, and wrote down such words.

He was accepted as a disciple by his teacher at the age of nine.

At that time, because of his age, he couldn't cultivate, and the teacher's teaching was to let him write, and also told him that writing can be calm, calm, clear, and concentrating.

A word, there are more or less strokes, every stroke is written, there is no urgency, there is no urgency, there is no urgency, there is a degree of alleviation, this is called "repair".

What is repaired is that stroke by stroke, and it accumulates over time.

A piece of words, horizontal into rows, vertical columns, between words, between lines, between columns, there are all particular.

It is possible that this word is good and that word is bad.

It is possible that this word is good, and that word is good, but when the two words are read together, it is not good.

The teacher said back then that this is called "OK".

Walking is the way to advance and retreat, and it is also the way to gain and lose.

Think beyond the horizon of one word and consider the whole word.

If there is no complete planning and envision for the entire banner, then even if every word is written carefully, carefully and excellently, the whole banner is very likely to be not very good.

Or not only bad, but terrible.

This is only knowing the small but not the big, but then not knowing the retreat, only knowing the gain but not the loss.

All of these are ignorant of the "law".

The law is the degree.

There is a degree of pitching, and there is a degree of advance and retreat.

There is a degree of gain and loss, and there is a degree of profit and loss.

As for the "Tao" other than the "Fa", the teacher did not say much at that time.

After writing this word, Xu Yishan thought about it at this time, but he only shook his head and smiled.

On this day, all afternoon, Xu Yishan was just writing these words, well, nine words.

It is only a short nine words, but under his pen, it presents a kaleidoscopic posture, horizontal or vertical, square or round, or lined up, or connected from end to end.

Or the size of the nine characters is not the same, one word is as big as a tree, and the other eight characters are like flowers and plants, or like birds, or like clouds and water, leaning, hovering, and dotting among the big trees.

Or the two words are attached to each other, and the remaining seven characters are arranged around.

And so on and so forth.

The imagery and momentum are described as water, or like flowing water, or like a waterfall hanging on a river, or like a still shadow, or like a turbid wave emptying, or like a shining water, or like the ebb and flow of the tide......

A dazzling array of landscapes.

The nine characters form a complex world of "action" and "law".

This is also Xu Yishan's world.

It's the world inside the body, and it's the world outside the body.

It is the imaginary world of the heart and mind, and it is also the real world of knowledge and action.

From the afternoon to the evening, Xu Yishan had a room full of books, and the four walls and floors of the study were all hung with these banners.

When the sun was about to set, Xu Yishan gathered these banners and burned them to the small lake outside the cottage.

After the banner was reduced to ashes, a pot of wine was loosely placed on top of a few branches, but it was boiling hot.

In the overflowing aroma of wine, Xu Yishan casually played a few points of wine into the lake, attracting many small fish to come up and compete for food.

Xu Yishan watched the play with a smile and spent the first night of this retreat in a pot of fine wine.

"Condensation, not afraid of cold and heat. The pulse is complete, and there is no disease. The enlightenment is great, and the life is doubled. ”

The next day, in the study, Xu Yishan wrote such words.

And in this line of words, this afternoon, Xu Yishan recalled the experience of condensing qi, clearing the pulse, and opening up all the way from the beginning of cultivation.

That was a long time ago, but looking back on it now, it's still the same as it was yesterday.
