Chapter 83: The Red-Skinned Monster

Arthur was awakened by a slight rustling sound.

When Arthur sat up, the rustling disappeared in an instant.

Arthur's gaze swept over the earth, and there was nothing on the ground except for the red thorns on the left and the right.

Arthur carried the Starfall Greatsword behind his back, took out the fourth-level elf carved bow called "Wanderer's Sorrow" from the space bracelet, drew a sharp arrow, and shot it towards the nearest bush of thorns.

The arrow pierced the thorn bush without any movement.

Arthur took the second arrow and continued to shoot at the next bush of thorns, and then the next one.

Arthur crept forward, the arrow swept through the thorn clumps one by one, and when the seventh arrow was fired, a small monster with dark red skin sprang out from behind the thorn bushes, turned and ran.

A smile appeared on Arthur's lips, and the eighth arrow instantly burst out of the string. The little monster fell, and the arrow pierced one of its thighs and pinned it to the ground.

Arthur stepped forward and flipped it over with his foot.

Just as Arthur flipped it over, it jumped up from the ground and bit into Arthur's throat with its sharp teeth.

Arthur slammed the carved bow in his hand, and the back of the bow was stuck under its neck, keeping it out of reach.

Arthur saw the whole picture of this little monster, it was almost the height of Arthur's thighs, dark red skin was hairless and full of wrinkles, red eyes and pointed mouth, full of sharp canine teeth, except for the lack of tail and hair, the appearance was somewhat similar to that of a monkey on the continent.

This little creature was so vicious that even when it was hunched over its neck, it squeaked, clawed out, and bared its teeth to bite Arthur.

Arthur threw his back hard and threw the little monster to the ground.

The little monster rolled on the ground a few times, its eyes rolled up, its mouth and nose bleed, and it didn't move.

"Dead, is this little thing so fragile? Let's take it back and show it to Sarain. Arthur thought and bent down to grab the little monster's corpse.

Just as Arthur's hand was about to touch the corpse, the little monster suddenly jumped up from the ground, pounced on Arthur, and opened its mouth to bite.

Arthur was wearing a fourth-level "Cloud Spirit Vine Armor", and the little monster didn't leave any tooth marks on the rattan armor in one bite. But this scared Arthur enough, reached out and grabbed the little monster's neck and pinched it.

There was a crisp sound of gaba, and Arthur, who had no strength left, directly crushed the neck of the little monster, and this time he couldn't die anymore.

Arthur put the corpse into the bracelet and wiped the cold sweat from his head, carelessly, he almost suffered from such a weak creature. What kind of creature is it that knows how to use trickery if it is so vicious?

While Arthur was frowning and thinking, he suddenly felt a throbbing, a throbbing of magic from his body, and at that moment he finally felt the sporadic magical elements in the space. Although it was not enough to gather and urge the magic scroll, I finally saw hope, the hope of going home!

Arthur excitedly moved on.

Arthur only walked half a day's journey before he encountered the red-skinned monster again.

Seven or eight small monsters suddenly burst out of the thorn bushes, and this time instead of running, they attacked Arthur on their own initiative. They no longer rely on their teeth and claws, but instead hold a stick with a long black arm, one of which is sharpened to barely be called a gun.

Even so, the combat effectiveness of these little monsters is still pitiful, Arthur's greatsword swinged, one sword at a time, and these little monsters were slaughtered in an instant.

Arthur picked up their weapon and broke it with great effort.

They can craft weapons and know how to use tricks, and they can no longer be simply called monsters, but intelligent races like humans, orcs, and elves.

Arthur's battle with these little monsters has just begun, as Arthur continues to move forward, more and more small monsters rush out of the thorn bushes, from the ground to take the initiative to attack him, first scattered several, a dozen, and then even a group of small monsters appeared.

Although it was not yet able to pose a huge threat to Arthur, it was too much to kill, and Arthur walked all the way, leaving corpses all the way behind.

Arthur felt like he was going deep into their territory, and they must have seen themselves as intruders, hence the constant attacks. But Arthur had to move on, because the more active the magical elements in the space were, Arthur was already able to communicate with them, just a few short of them.

After walking for an unknown amount of time in the killing that even Arthur himself felt bored and unbearable, the red thorn bushes on the ground disappeared, and what appeared in front of Arthur's eyes was a sparse black forest.

The trees were not very tall, and the trunks were no thicker, and strangely black in trunks and branches, bare without a single leaf.

There are a number of small monsters standing on the trees, and the weapons in the hands of these little monsters are taken from the branches of these trees.

Arthur couldn't wait to rush into the woods, he could feel the flow of rich magical elements in the woods, as long as he rushed in, he could urge the magic scroll and go home.

But Arthur stopped in front of the woods.

Groups of small monsters rushed out of the woods, and they did not pounce immediately, but lined up in front of the trees, and in the blink of an eye, they were densely packed, completely blocking the way to the woods.

Arthur was stunned for a moment, these little monsters were lined up in five neat phalanxes, this is clearly an army!

Arthur looked at the thousands of little monsters in front of him, and his scalp was numb, especially in the last two rows of each phalanx, the little monsters standing were obviously taller, and the color of their skin had changed from dark red to black. The weapon in their hands was not a rough wooden spear made of black branches, but a blade similar to a stone axe, and the blade was shiny.

At the very front of the phalanx, a black monster stood suddenly. The monster was about Arthur's height, and it wore a crude simple armor taken from the bark of the black trees, and held something resembling a scepter in its hand.

It should be the general of this army or the king of these red-skinned monsters. While Arthur was looking at it, it was watching Arthur as well. Unlike the vicious, angry gaze in the eyes of other monsters, its gaze towards Arthur was unusually calm, if it weren't for the huge difference in appearance, it would give Arthur the feeling that the opposite side was a person with flesh and blood and soul like himself.

Arthur was still hesitating, but a whining trumpet sounded in the woods.

The king of the red-skinned monsters pointed his scepter forward, and the tall monsters behind the phalanx all rushed to the front of the phalanx, and at the same time threw their stone axes at Arthur.

The stone axes in the sky smashed into Arthur like meteorites, and Arthur didn't know whether to rush forward or run backward......
