Chapter 13: An Island Wilder Than a Desert
What is Reiki?
Based on the research of the first life, Xu Guangling can probably establish such a framework or definition for Reiki:
The light emitted by a star contains something that is more "basic" than elementary particles, uncertain whether it is matter or energy or a mixture of both, and which cannot be captured by any instruments on Earth at the time.
When such a thing falls on the surface or deep of the earth, the first metamorphosis (property transformation) occurs.
Speculation is an interaction with the Earth's magnetic field or other factors.
This first metamorphosis, Xu Guangling named it "Yuanqi", its role is to moisturize and nourish, consolidate the foundation and cultivate the yuan.
When the first metamorphosis interacts with plants and trees, the second metamorphosis is derived, which Xu Guangling ordered as "aura", whose role is biochemical stimulation and promotes the rapid growth of life.
In this life, after being born, Xu Guangling did not feel the "aura" for the first time.
Subsequently, the surrounding situation gave him the answer, on this big island, which was called Ransom Sand Island by the natives of the island, Xu Guangling's eyes did not see any green.
Don't say anything big or small, even any grass, Xu Guangling didn't find it!
This is very abnormal!
You know, if you dig a big pit anywhere inland, as long as there is water in this big pit, after a period of time, it will be as short as a few days, a few months in the middle, or a few years in the long, and there is a considerable probability that there will be fish in this big pit.
Where do the fish come from?
Comes from fish eggs.
Where do the eggs come from?
It's raining and it's falling, and that's the first way.
Birds that flew by were brought in, and this was the second way.
The wind is blowing, and this is the third way.
I don't know if there are other ways, but even if these three paths are enough, life can actively multiply without human interference.
This is the case with large pits that sink down on land.
The same is true of islands jutting out of the ocean, even if the island was originally a desert.
And now on this island, there is not a single plant or tree!
Is it because the environment on the island is so harsh that it doesn't allow any kind of vegetation to grow? Apparently not. Compared with the grass and trees to survive, human beings are not even younger brothers.
Even humans can be alive and kicking around here, but they can't see even a single grass, which is obviously extremely abnormal.
It's not going to be human interference.
If it is, then there must be the intervention of great supernatural powers.
Because even if ordinary people "exterminate" plants and trees, it is difficult to exterminate to such an extent, and there is no reason to do so at all.
There are no plants and trees derived from aura, and it is not surprising that Xu Guangling did not feel aura.
But it's also strange.
Because as long as there is aura on this planet, it will escape and spread to the periphery, so that the entire surface of the planet is filled with aura.
So, there is no aura on this entire planet?
Unlikely.
There is no vegetation but only human beings, which is obviously contrary to ecological logic, just as there are no 0s and 1s, but 2 exists out of thin air.
The biggest possibility is that this sea area is special.
Xu Guangling immediately wondered if there was a layer of something like that jelly layer wrapped around the outside of this sea area, isolating it from the outer places.
It's a possibility, but it's obviously impossible to know for sure at the moment.
At the moment, his footprints can't even cover the entire Big Island!
It's not how big the island is, of course, he doesn't know how big it is, but the biggest reason is his age and body, the younger age, the ordinary body, he is not allowed to wander around.
In this life, it's no longer a pig and a tiger.
He's a pig.
Having lost his immortal innocence, this body in this life is a complete ordinary person.
There is no aura around, so is there any vitality?
It stands to reason that as long as there is the sun shining, there should be vitality, unless the sun is special, or the current planet (not sure if it is a planet, assuming so) is special.
After his incarnation, in about a year or two, the most thing Xu Guangling did was to look up at the sky.
Watch the sun during the day.
Look at the stars at night.
The sun in this life is bigger than the previous two lives, but the color is about the same, and Xu Guangling didn't see any difference.
There are many more stars in this life than in the previous two lives, and at night, when the weather is good and there are no clouds to cover it, the sky is simply a garden of stars, which is really beautiful.
But under this beauty, Xu Guangling's body was bathed in starlight, but he barely felt the vitality!
Almost!
There is still vitality, but it is pitiful!
And this situation corresponds to the fact that the inhabitants of the island have a very short lifespan, sixty is the life expectancy, and there are almost no people who can live to the age of seventy.
Even, there are very few people who live to sixty.
Under normal circumstances, it is not uncommon to die between 50 and 55, and it is not uncommon for people to die in their forties.
And basically, after the twenties, people start to show signs of aging.
In this life, Xu Guangling was born without grandparents and grandmothers, and even, after opening his eyes, if he was not familiar with his mother's body, he would regard his father and mother in this life as grandparents and grandmothers!
Because they look so old.
Later, when Xu Guangling learned that they were not even thirty, he was directly shocked!
It's not that his family is like this, the surroundings are like this!
After the age of three, Xu Guangling was sent to "Haishamen" to learn to swim.
The people on the side are all the same as him, children of three or four years old, both men and women.
Before learning, Jiao Xi shook the whip and gave each child a blow, and Xu Guangling couldn't escape.
Some of the children just grinned and cried, and then the children were thrown a second and third whip.
Then, the venue where dozens of children gathered, there was silence.
Whip teaching almost permeates the entire learning process, even if Xu Guangling learned to swim on the first day, he was not less whipped, because that perverted teaching taught all children a whip education at the beginning of every day, and no matter whether you learn it or not, you have to stay in this Haishamen for a month.
Incidentally, the month here is 22 days, and then there is no concept of "week, week, worship", but similar to the ancient Chinese "ten", which divides the month into two halves.
The first half of the ten days, the second half of the ten days, and the day after the ten days is probably the rest day.
However, the rest day is not really reflected on this island.
At least for Xu Guangling's children, it's the same as any other time.
Xu Guangling grew up in such a situation, and he gradually got used to life on the island.
At night, he slept in the same room with his parents, there was no bed, it was a kind of flat plate made of "light stone" on the edge of the island, barely a bed, of course, there was no such thing as a bed leg, it was placed on the ground.
This thing is as light as stone and wood, and when it is dried without water, it is lighter than the paulownia wood of the first earth, but it is quite strong and will not break when you are idle.
Half of the room is underground.
This is because during the day, when the sun is shining, the surface temperature is frighteningly high, at least forty or fifty degrees, and even some days, above fifty degrees.
At that time, the only way to avoid being burned was to live underground.
Even so, it was very hot in the room.
Fortunately, at night, the temperature did not drop rapidly to below zero, or even dozens of degrees below zero.
But even so, this ghost place is by no means suitable for survival, Xu Guangling finally knows why people here are generally short-lived, and even, it is a "miracle" to live to the age of sixty.
But miracles are not surprising.
There's a reason for that.
When Xu Guangling was more than four years old, he knew that the very few island residents who could live to be over sixty years old were all amazing people.
He also knew, as normal.
The normal life expectancy of the inhabitants of this island is actually only forty years old!
All these "long-lived" people who lived to be in their fifties and sixties were all because of one thing.
It's also a specialty of the sea.
