Chapter 8: The Refuge (Part I)

Qu Heng lived in the bedroom next door to Xue Kaimo, and in the past three years, the two had only had one relationship, and that relationship originated from a martial arts fight.

That day, Qu Heng had friction with the students of the Department of Physical Education because of playing ball during the day, and at night, fifty boys from the Department of Physical Education rushed to the fifth floor where the dormitory of the Department of Foreign Languages was located, claiming that with their poor IQ and strong physical strength, Qu Heng's two hands would never touch the basketball again.

Most of the boys in the foreign language department went to the Internet café that night, and Qu Heng, who happened to walk out of the dormitory to check the situation, did not hold a basketball, only a fire extinguisher in his hand.

In the first fifteen minutes of the martial arts, fifty people from the physical education department crowded into the narrow corridor, never being able to get close to Qu Heng for half a step, during which they were interrupted and smashed by Qu Heng, and there were no less than a dozen pairs of hands and feet.

Xue Kaimo was drinking with Ke Tong, Li Ju, and Chai Yu in the dormitory at that time, Xue Kaimo had already drunk to the point that his six relatives did not recognize him, and the other three people were already snoring and unconscious.

Later, when he heard the noise in the corridor getting louder and louder, Xue Kaimo rushed out of the dormitory directly without waking anyone up, and in a trance, the beer bottle he had originally aimed at Qu Heng threw happened to hit the bridge of the nose of a physical education boy who was struggling forward, and at this point, Xue Kaimo also involuntarily joined the battle.

No one knows how long Xue Kaimo and Qu Heng held out that night, and Xue Kaimo and Qu Heng don't know how many sticks they were hit on their bodies when the fight ended.

In the end, the boys of the physical education department were taken away by the building leader, while Qu Heng and Xue Kaimo were so tired that they collapsed to the ground, and the other was so drunk that they were bedridden for a long time, and they were not carried back to the dormitory by the students who returned early the next morning.

But the strange thing is that the relationship between the two after this is limited to saying hello when they meet, and they don't say a word other than that.

Over time, there was only one protagonist left in the foreign language department in the rumors about that martial arts: Xue Kaimo or Qu Heng.

But in the hearts of Xue Kaimo and Qu Heng, they had already recognized each other as friends of life and death, otherwise Xue Kaimo would not have suddenly thought of Qu Heng in a hurry.

"Look, that's what we've been holding for seven days. On the fifth floor of Building No. 2, Qu Heng said to Xue Kaimo.

Aside from the unrecognizable classrooms, it is difficult to find a single school building here.

Everywhere there were removed and machined door panels, blackboards, iron tables and chairs, layer upon layer, directly touching the ceiling.

"These tables and chairs are really difficult to disassemble, so I have to use them directly. Qu Heng explained to Xue Kaimo. The equipment in the gymnasium has also been moved almost all here, javelins, discus, shot put ... Even a few extraordinarily heavy barbells were lifted up and placed in the classroom where desks, chairs, and podiums were once placed.

In addition to these, there are countless weapons made by Qu Heng himself, rough and polished but very sharp knives, iron rods and iron pipes of different lengths and thicknesses, and Qu Heng even personally designed three trebuchets that can fire twelve lead balls at the same time.

In short, Xue Kaimo and Wen Li felt as if they had returned to the Stone Age that they had only seen from books, but it seemed to be more than enough to use these weapons to deal with those zombies who were also backward.
