Chapter 33: The Elven Tribe
Vera burst into tears.
Regner's heart was relieved when he heard the sound of the dagger falling—it wasn't the sound of steel rubbing against flesh.
He slowly opened his eyes, and Vera's dagger was stuck in the ground less than two centimeters of Rikordak's throat, but it didn't hurt Kordak in the slightest.
"Can't do it...... I can't...... Selenos is gone, am I going to let you go too? What should I do?What should I do with Kordak?" Vera said as she cried.
Regner looked at Vera who was twitching and Kordak who was dying, and finally understood what it meant to have a heart twisted like a knife, what to do?
Where is the pastor? Where is there anyone who can save Kordak?
Regner pondered over and over again, his current location, the belongings on his body, Kordak's injuries, and the environment of the Nightsong Forest......
Suddenly, Regner's eyes lit up, and he hurriedly took out the Willless notes from his arms and began to flip through them frantically, fortunately, the Willless notes were not ordinary paper materials, otherwise they would have been torn apart under Regner's trembling hands.
"Sister Vera, I've found it!" exclaimed Regner excitedly.
"What? what did you find?" Vera was also refreshed when she heard Regner's words, and hurried over.
"Here, you see......" Regner pointed to a passage from Vellais's note.
"......" Vera rubbed her eyes, she could see that this was a lingua franca, but she couldn't understand all of them, she didn't care about the strangeness of the notes now, she just hurriedly asked: "I can't understand what you have on it, tell me quickly, what should I do?"
"The note says that there is an elven tribe in the Nightsong Forest, just near Shimmer Lake, and if we find the elven tribe, maybe the elves have a way to save the boss. Regner said excitedly, pointing to his notes.
"Elf...... Elf ......" Vera thought as her eyes gradually flashed with hope: "Yes, that's right, many people have said that they have seen elves in the Nightsong Forest, and the elves may have a way to save him!
The more Vera spoke, the more hopeful she felt, but suddenly she seemed to think of something again, and her eyes became a little darker: "However, the elves are very wary of outsiders......, how can we get them to help us?"
"Ah, what are you thinking about so much at this time, the boss is waiting to die if he continues to stay here, I'll treat his wound and leave, if you have any concerns, let's find them to think about it." Regner didn't talk much nonsense, he quickly took out the hemostatic herb and the three green leaves from his backpack to prepare healing medicine.
The process of preparing the ointment was very simple, but Regner's heart was tight after the preparation.
Because there were so many fatal wounds on Kordak's body, the ointment he had prepared couldn't take care of all the wounds, which was why they had an empty bottle of healing potion but couldn't do anything about Kordak's injuries.
Regner picked the three most serious wounds on his right ribs, left chest, and back, and poured the remaining healing potion into Kordak's mouth. After doing all this, Vera had already sorted out the belongings and equipment of the three of them, and the two of them found two thick branches, then made a rudimentary stretcher out of their backpacks, and carried Kordak to begin to move forward anxiously and slowly.
As dawn approached, the loss of Selenos tormented Vera and Regner's nerves, and the night of fighting left them both physically exhausted.
Now, a small boy and a young girl who were not known for their physical strength were still gritting their teeth and moving anxiously and slowly towards the place recorded in the Willes notebook. In fact, the two of them have long been on the verge of collapse, but there is a fear that is constantly forcing them forward, and that is the fear of losing Kordak.
Regner and the others carried Kordak for seven or eight hours, and finally came to the location where Kordak recorded, and on the way, they were always worried that the angry Kordak would not be able to hold on, for fear that the bumpy distance would dissipate Kordak's last breath.
The two of them went on with trepidation, and thankfully, Kordak persevered, but to his despair, there were no elven tribes at all.
"It should be here, why not?" Regner looked anxiously at the Velles note, and now he wanted to find out the person who wrote it and ask what was going on.
"It's supposed to be the elves' magic ban. Although Vera knew the reason, she was as anxious as Regner, because the two of them were warrior-type characters who practiced muscles on the outside and cultivated fighting qi on the inside, and they didn't know anything about mental power and magic.
"Hell, could it be that you just got to the door and could only stare dryly?!" Regner's eyes reddened.
"Find a way to lure them out. Vera gritted her teeth and decided that only elves could save Kordaq now.
So, the two of them called for a long time near the forest, but apart from attracting a few wild beasts, the expected elf never appeared.
"That's all there is to it. Regner pulled the fire fold out of his backpack.
"You're going to set fire to the forest?" Vera guessed Regner's intentions.
"Then they will definitely come out. Regner said.
"But don't forget, the elves are all about nature, and if we do this, I'm afraid it will disgust them, so will they still save Kordak?" Vera reminded, but she also took out the oil from her backpack and handed it to Regner.
"Where can there be so much control now, if they don't come out again, the boss will die. Regner took the oil and found a place a little further away from Kordak and prepared to set it on fire.
He had no doubt about what the Verles Note had recorded, and if it said there were elves here, it must have been. So Regner wasn't worried about causing a forest fire that turned him and Vera into roast pigs.
......
Gelano is the Captain of the Nightsong Tribe, and he has been leading his people to guard the forest for twenty years.
The clansmen say that he is the most talented archer among the younger generation of the Night Song Tribe, and it is true, he can reach the ranks of high-level rangers when he is an adult, and he seems to be the only one in the tribe who has done it!
Remembering how excited Elder Elon was when he handed him the Order of the Captain of the Rangers twenty years ago, Gelano secretly vowed to protect the forest and the elves' home.
He has kept his oath for the past twenty years, and he is confident that he has done a good job.
But the appearance of two humans today has made Gelano angry and ashamed.
When they first appeared around the tribe, Gelano didn't really care about it, maybe they just happened to be passing by? Anyway, there were always humans roaming around the Nightsong Forest, and it should be normal for them to appear here occasionally.
But it didn't take long for the two humans to start yelling, as if they were looking for us? Gelano was a little annoyed by their rude shouts, but he didn't pay much attention to them, and the elves didn't want anything to do with the treacherous, cunning, and selfish humans.
But when the skinny human boy tried to set fire to the forest, Gelano was completely furious, and the destruction of nature was the greatest evil, and he could no longer ignore it.
When Regnar lit the oil, several elves with bows and arrows appeared behind him, and Vera in the distance was surrounded by several elves.
Regner looked at the handsome but somewhat uniform faces around him, and finally let go of his hanging heart.
He grinned at the elves, trying to make them understand that he was not hostile, his eyes and teeth looking unusually white against his face blackened by the flames. But it was clear that the elves did not understand what he meant, and their bowstrings tightened.
Regner felt that his eyes were dark, and the fatigue and mental torture of the past two days made him unable to support it anymore. And the last scene he saw before he passed out was Vera also staggering to the ground.
"Did you shoot them with tranquilizer arrows?" Gelano wondered why the two humans fainted at the same time.
"Nope. The elven boys around them were still nervously pulling the bowstring at the humans who had fallen to the ground.
Gelano was getting a little confused, he had been in the tribe since he was a child, and had never been outside of the Nightsong Forest, and although he had seen humans before, he was sure that these two humans were definitely the first time he had seen them.
But here's the problem, it's the first time I've seen them, but what is the matter with those two humans' smiles, "I've finally found you"? Do I know them well? And why did they faint? Was it because they were so excited to see the elves?
A series of questions swirled in Geralno's mind, and he didn't know what to do with the humans in front of him.
"Captain, a seriously injured human man was also found next to the female human. "A parade teenager came to report.
Gelano hesitated, but in the end, the elf's kind nature led him to bring all three humans back.
Anyway, the depth of their strength Gerano has already seen it clearly - the three of them can only be vindictive, the boy is level six, the girl is level seven, and the seriously injured man is only level nine.
Although these three people are not weak, if they dare to make any changes, Gelano is confident that he can handle it even if he is alone.
