Chapter 3 Nothing to Say
As a creature that has not been recognized as a real creature by the Ministry of Magic's Magical Beast Management Division, there is no specific definition of the scimitar-horned snorer, and most people recognize only a few characteristics, such as it has horns and is curved, such as it cannot fly but is agile, and for example, it always hides in the mountains.
It's not that no one has ever tried to find the scimitar-horned snorkel, but even Newt Scamman, the author of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, can't be sure if it exists, so he didn't include it in his book.
Neville wondered why Luna and her father were so sure that the scimitar snorkel existed, because as far as he knew, the father and daughter had never seen each other, and they didn't even know where they had heard the name, but they were able to draw the outline of the little thing on paper.
Well, it doesn't matter, just come out and play.
Optimistic by nature, Neville comforted himself with what came his way, but as he followed the eccentric father and daughter deeper and deeper into the mountains, he felt that this was not a trip, but a hunt.
"Huh!
I don't know if it was the first time he had been attacked by a wild boar, Neville stood a little dazed in the path of the wild boar's charge, with two large suitcases at his feet.
When the boar, which was nearly two meters long and weighed more than three hundred pounds, rushed in front of him, Neville turned slightly to the side, let the boar rush over, and then grabbed the boar, twisted its waist, and threw it towards the bushes on the other side.
"Bang!"
With a muffled sound, the wild boar was stunned and couldn't get up for a while.
"Well done!"
Mr. Lovegood came out from behind a large tree by the side of the road, holding a parchment map in his left hand and a compass in his right, and did not take his eyes off the map even as he spoke.
It's been more than a week since they've entered the mountains, and it's already considered inaccessible depths, and there isn't even a decent path in the forest where they are now. If it weren't for Mr. Lovegood's special way of locating, I am afraid that even if he had a map and a compass, he would have been lost.
There was a place on the parchment map that was marked with red ×, and Neville was less than ten miles from there, which was so long in a straight line, but they had to go around the lake ahead and then over the mountains to get there.
"It's getting dark, hurry up and get to the lake, where we'll rest. ”
Mr. Lovegood said that Neville was fine, but he looked left and right and didn't notice Luna.
"Where did Luna go?" he asked.
Before Mr. Lovegood could reply, Neville spotted Luna, who had come out of the woods with a large cluster of colorful flowers, humming an unknown song softly, with a sweet smile on her face, and clearly in a good mood. On her head was a hat decorated with branches, flowers, and unknown fruits, and she continued to dress with the flowers in her hands as she walked.
Neville didn't ask Luna where she had gone, because he was no longer surprised by such a thing, and must have seen some beautiful wildflowers and ran to pick them. It's just that in this forest, the people are barren, but all kinds of animals are extremely active, and it is quite dangerous for a person, especially a little girl like Luna, to break away from the team.
Mr. Lovegood did not mean to question his daughter, he was much more lenient than Mrs. Longbottom. Not only that, but he and Luna distributed the flowers together, and had a similar hat on his head, green and lacking flowers.
After decorating his hat, Mr. Lovegood took out his camera, posed a few times, and asked Luna to take a few pictures of him as a souvenir.
"Alright, let's move on!" he said contentedly.
Shaking his head, Neville carried the two large suitcases and followed Mr. Lovegood forward.
Luna walked behind him, picking out some delicate branches to break off from time to time, and she had some leftover materials in her hands. He looked at Neville's board, which had been much denser when they first met more than a week ago, but now it was much thicker.
Smiling slightly, her hands flickered deftly, and the branches gradually took on the outline of a hat in her hands......
I don't know if it's been popular to be vegetarian recently, anyway, almost all the things I brought out this trip are vegetarian, and there are almost no meat dishes.
Neville wasn't a picky eater, but he had been a vegetarian for a week, and he wanted to get some meat to make up for it. Once he had set up his tent by the lake, Neville sat down at the fire, silently waiting for the hapless prey to deliver food.
However, Neville's notoriety seemed to have spread through the mountains, and by the time Luna and the others had finished dinner and were ready to go to bed, the moving pieces of meat that Neville had hoped for had not appeared.
"Alas......"
Sighing, Neville honestly picked up the bread, smeared it with jam, and stuffed it into his mouth to chew. In all fairness, the bottle of Luna's homemade jam tasted good, sweet and sour, so Neville wasn't very resistant.
After dinner, Neville was about to go to bed, not fearing a beast attack, for Mr. Lovegood had been prepared. Just sprinkle exorcism powder around the area, ahh
Neville saw Luna sitting in front of the fire, her head bowed and wondering what she was making, so she casually asked, "Well, haven't you slept yet?"
Luna's face flushed, perhaps because of the flames, and she looked up, her gray eyes flickering.
"Hmm. ”
Neville didn't know what to say, Luna should be considered a relatively silent person among the people he knew, and he himself was not a very articulate and eloquent person, so the atmosphere in front of the fire calmed down again.
Having forgotten that he had planned to go to bed, Neville racked his brains about what to say, only to realize that even though he had been together for more than a week, he still didn't know much about Luna.
"This one is for you. ”
Luna spoke suddenly, and she held out a hand to Neville with a wreath of flowers, as the name describes, with a base and a variety of flowers on it.
"There weren't enough materials, so I couldn't make a hat. She said with some regret.
"Thank you. ”
Taking the garland, Neville didn't put it on immediately, but examined it carefully. Luna didn't rush him, just sat there, one hand on her chin, tilting her head to stare at the fire as if in a daze.
Glancing at Luna, Neville put the wreath on his head, neither too big nor too small, just right. It's just a pity that Neville doesn't have a mirror on him, so he can't see the effect after wearing it.
"Here's to you. ”
Luna handed over a folding mirror, and Neville looked at it, feeling that the colors of the flowers were too mixed and bright, and if he could, he still liked the pure tones.
"You're amazing. Neville took the garland, scratched his head, and said, "I can't do this kind of thing, Grandma always said that my hands were clumsier than my feet, and I always let her down." ”
"This is what my mother taught me. ”
Luna tilted her head to the other side, no expression on her face. It wasn't until this time that Neville discovered that he hadn't seen Luna's mother until now.
As if knowing what Neville was thinking, Luna spoke, "She died two years ago, the spell went wrong, and then she ......"
"I'm sorry. ”
Neville said apologetically, thinking he might as well go to bed, and got up and walked towards his tent.
"Good night and early rest. ”
"Good night. ”
