Chapter 97: The Wanderer's Library
Myths are born, legends circulate, and historical knowledge is recorded.
Stories that do not distinguish between truth and falsehood are constantly being weaved like chanting.
In the silent darkness embracing death, flickering flames float across the waters of time.
If that light is called life, the words written will become power.
If there's a book for all of this, it's the Wanderer's Library.
In terms of setting, it is an extradimensional realm belonging to the Foundation's worldview, an alien building that exists on another level of space.
It has a nearly infinite collection, a vast staff of archivists, custodians, and other staff, as well as readers from all over the multiverse.
Essentially, the Library is a neutral force that welcomes visitors from all worlds, especially those classified by the Foundation as an "anomalous community".
The library has its own rules, and as long as you follow its rules, you will be able to consult books from the vast space here.
However, if you break the rules, you will be permanently shut out, or you will be caught as a librarian and work for the library for hundreds of years before being released.
Due to its containment anomalies and past offensive actions, the Foundation is referred to as "Jailer" by the inhabitants of the library, and is a rather undesirable subject.
The Foundation also considers it a potential threat, but the library is not to be used as a special source of information about the anomaly.
As a result, they formed a Mobile Task Force to deal with these anomalous communities, Siga-"Bibliographers".
"Bibliographers" are not typically involved in containment operations, and are primarily responsible for communicating with the anomalous community associated with the library - reality benders, active magicians, anartists, etc......
As the Foundation's interface to the library, they are to be friendly with the paranormal beings, at least minimally.
As a result of this, only a portion of the Foundation as a result of "bibliographers" was allowed access to the library.
The rest were blocked from the Secret Way leading there.
If the rest of the Foundation or someone from G tried to use the Way to break into that alternate dimension, either it wouldn't work, or the Library would help reconnect to other dangerous places—alien planets, wastelands, hostile lands, outer space......
The Foundation has even been reported to have opened a Way to a real hell.
- God knows where it is.
But more often, it sends these "uninvited guests" to the library archives and turns them into librarians.
Yes, G is better than the Foundation when it comes to being unpopular with libraries.
Under this worldview, it is the super organization that is most similar to the Foundation's organizational structure, closest to its racial stance, and has the most equal international status.
g, the Global Occult Coalition, has always been the official ...... of the Foundation
Phew! no! I mean-
G has been a loyal ally of the Foundation most of the time.
Although they don't look down on each other's gentleness/> aggressiveness, it doesn't prevent these two teammates from moving forward side by side on the road to saving the world.
In the eyes of the Foundation, G is the big brother of the anomalous community, the policeman and the executioner.
During the Seventh Occult War, which took place during World War II, G carried out a hostile takeover of the entire anomalous community: either surrender or be crushed.
Some of the actions in this process have annoyed the library.
Because of their unusually destructive behavior, as well as the black history of killing borrowers and storming the library to burn books, G was angrily called "book burners" by the residents of the library, and listed as a permanent non-contact target.
The Foundation, which has been dubbed the "Jailer", says that the title is okay, and the two of them are half a pound and a half.
It is noteworthy that G did not abandon this excellent source after being kicked out of the library and was very tactful in ......
I'm going to ask the Foundation for information.
Really witty.
Another organization that has to be mentioned is the "Serpent's Hand".
The Serpent's Hand began as a movement that arose out of opposition to G.
There is also opposition to containment and repression of the anomalous community.
This group of "people" gathered in order to overthrow G quickly formed a mystic group.
"They're radical activists in the anomalous community...... But they are also ordinary people who do not accept the control of big government.
The Serpent's Hand does not refuse to come, and anyone who wants to join can join, so there are also many degenerates and death cultists.
Apparently there is a lot of overlap between the Serpent's Hand and many marginal groups, as well as various movements, such as religions.
Occasionally, there are established religions, such as the Church of the Broken God, and groups of anartists. ”
- Magic Guide – The Anomaly Community
The Serpent's Hand attitude towards G is extremely hostile, and in most records obtained by the Foundation, unprovoked violence by members of the Serpent's Hand has been directed against Agent G.
They tend to be similarly disgusted with the Foundation, but at least a little better than G, as the Foundation generally doesn't kill.
Or to be more accurate: the Foundation generally doesn't kill anomalies, preferring containment.
And G's attitude towards any threatening anomaly is three words: "Kill, kill!"
The analogy proves G's attitude towards the Serpent's Hand, which is also the rhythm of catching one and dying to death.
They themselves probably knew this, so they set up their base camp inside the library, which G was completely inaccessible, so that they could attack and retreat.
However, the relative peace of mind does not hide the fact that the Serpent's Hand is invading Foundation facilities more and more frequently.
If it weren't for the fact that they spent most of their time in the library and couldn't come out, the Foundation would have teamed up with G to take care of these troublemakers.
To say that the Foundation is moderate is relative to the radical repressionists.
From the standpoint of safeguarding humanity, the Foundation absolutely lives up to their purpose of "control, containment, and protection".
The idea of the Serpent's Hand is contrary to the Foundation's purpose.
"Humanity and the inhabitants of all other worlds should not live in darkness and cover.
Most of us are just normal people, yet our enemies don't think so.
We are human, but we have embraced the abnormal, the supernatural, and the transcendent.
We have the power to transcend reality.
Why can't we? Our friends, family, and sometimes even ourselves, fall out of the shackles of routine.
Every single one of us has experienced anomalies.
We exist between heaven and earth, and we have never aspired to your principles.
For the pioneers of traditional powers, the Foundation S, the Global Occult Coalition, and most government agencies, the anomaly is a slow-spreading poison capable of destroying the painstakingly shaped fruits of all civilizations.
But anomalous people are also human beings, and anomalies themselves are not a hazard, but merely an existence.
Yes, it will behave dangerously, but the same goes for bacteria, meteorites and forest fires.
Suppressing that knowledge will only make it more dangerous and will keep us all shivering in the dark.
When routine begins to hunt down those who live in the shadows beneath it, trying to cure this "poison", routine itself becomes poison.
The Foundation and the Global Occult Coalition now play the role of the Catholic Church imprisoning Galileo when he discovered that the Earth revolves around the sun.
Their actions and beliefs are the death of knowledge, the death of science, the death of light.
We are strengthened by you.
We, who were, were more like you, but were naturally willing to hoard supernatural knowledge for ourselves.
How many ks has been incorporated into the Global Occult Coalition? Supernatural things are like giant hydras - for every head that is cut off, two new ones grow out of it. How long can you cut?
How many s?000?000?5000?more?How long will it be before there are no more prisons to hold anomalies? Will you use the whole world as a shelter?
You confessed it behind your back. The anomaly is growing. You cannot stand in the way of the future forever.
We will give you the freedom to exist in your captivity. We will save the lives of those you seek to kill.
The garden is a habitat for venomous snakes.
We are the hands of serpents. ”
