Chapter 148: Devourer of Worlds
There are a number of documents related to the "Scarlet King" in SCP Foundation.
Some only vaguely mention this "king", while others make up for its existence and setting image.
The three most central files are undoubtedly SCP-231, SCP-2317, and SCP-001, Tufto's proposal, "The Crimson King".
After two more series after SCP-231, Clef finally filled in the hole and wrote "SCP-2317 - Otherworldly Gate", which is an explanation of the previous work.
For a long time, the "Devourers of Worlds" described in 2317 were believed to be the essence of the Crimson King.
As the name suggests, the article "Gateway to the Otherworld" is a gateway to another world.
Inside is an unknown being who has brought the end of thousands of worlds.
This setting is not surprising among many SCPs, and it is even a little too simplistic.
But Clef has enabled six layers of iteration in the archive to deliver an unparalleled impact with layers of in-depth writing.
At first glance, all you can see is a command to enter a password and a piece of text that follows the format of a Foundation file with little valid information.
It only describes a door to another world, and nothing else is written.
As we move into Iteration 2, the permissions required become higher, the review process becomes more complex, and more information starts to appear on the page.
As a result, the reader will know that SCP-2317 is a Keter-class object, and that containment procedures for this object appear to be quite complex, and that it has been referred to by the Foundation as "Procedure 220-Calabasas".
Only partial information about this has been revealed in iteration 2, and the program looks strikingly similar to 231's "110-Montauk program".
In iteration 3, the extra information revealed some of the Otherworldly scenes, while informing the Archive reader that "any incorrect execution of Procedure 220-Casabasas could result in an XK-Class Apocalyptic Scenario." ”
The 4th iteration finally wrote out the specifics of how to execute the program.
It was a primitive and absurd ritual that was completely inconsistent with the Foundation's scientific style.
A key part of the ritual was [DATA EXPUNGED], but it was written that the procedure was extremely demanding and that "lethal force may be used in the event that one of the executors attempted to escape".
After a series of DATA EXPUNGED, the assistant will complete the final stage of the procedure with a mixture of blood and holy water.
Something is getting more and more wrong.
Readers can't wait to click on the pages of Iteration 5, where what is locked in 2317 is described for the first time.
It was a huge humanoid hundreds of thousands of meters tall, covered in scales, and its back was infiltrated with 7 heavy hooks, each connected to the 7 pillars at the top of the space by iron locks.
"At the time of writing, six cables were broken or damaged, and only one remained intact. ”
As long as you have seen 231, you should be able to associate it.
- That's right, 231-7, the only remaining "bride" is this last lock.
Therefore, the "220-Calabasas procedure" actually plays the same role as the "110-Montauk procedure", which is the price that has to be paid to ensure the world's only remaining "safety line".
- The so-called "necessary evil".
Is that so?
......
The 5th iteration revealed what was coded in the previous iteration, which was [DATA EXPUNGED].
It is not an imaginary cruel and evil ritual inside, but ......
Kill the chicken.
Yes, you read that right.
A male chicken is killed with an obsidian knife as a sacrifice, followed by the blood of the chicken mixed with holy water blessed by the Abrahamic religion, and finally the assistant ritually circumnavigates the venue and spreads the mixture into the center.
In fact, there are other bits and pieces of process and passages that need to be memorized during the ritual.
But in general...... That's pretty much it.
No one needs to be sacrificed, only a chicken.
The ridiculous procedure mirrors the Foundation's preparedness like a joke.
Don't forget, however, that this document has 6 iterations.
There is only one last one left.

"Thank you, the time and date of your visit have been recorded and reported to RAISA. ”
Item No: SCP-2317, Special Access Designation: Codename "Nightmare Regent Red", Special Containment Procedures: Not applicable.
So we can finally understand what it is.
SCP-2317 is an archaean entity, known as "The ████, the Devourer of Worlds" (name deliberately erased).
In about 1894 BC, it was captured and imprisoned in this barren world by the Erikeshan mysticists.
The Foundation discovered the door to the Atlas, as well as the imprisoned and the chains that were about to break.
The ultimate collapse of the last broken chain will occur in the next century, and any attempt to repair and replace the chains will fail.
Because the raw material from which these chains were made was the bones and tendons of another "devourer of worlds", long gone.
In the foreseeable not-too-distant future, this trapped entity is destined to return to reality, and the XK-Class Scenario is bound to envelop the world.
In response to the overwhelming despair and panic that spread within the Foundation, the O5 Council approved "Procedure 220-Casabasas".
This is a fake containment procedure, which has no effect on Containment 2317, and its only purpose is to stabilize the Foundation's morale and prevent its own people from collapsing before the real disaster strikes.
It can be said that the whole file is played by people, but it does make people feel a kind of absurd but real despair.
The "Crimson King" is the "Devourer of Worlds" here, an unstoppable apocalypse.
A lot of people think so.
There are also many people who think that such a "Crimson King" pulls down the forced style they saw in 231.
2317 is purely a "dead fat house lolicon" - considering its huge and fat body, and the fact that its prison time has also enlarged the bellies of seven innocent "brides" - it can be labeled as a "rapist......
Until another author named Tufto wrote a 001 proposal.
The concept of the "Crimson King" was finally finalized and became another legendary "God of the Foundation".
- The Foundation's "divine presence" never disappoints.
After all, the "one-size-fits-all" rule is there, and anyone can use their imagination to add to a setting.
Could this development be expected by Clef?
