002 Further studies and employment

Further education and employment

According to the law of the Union, children are required to enter primary school at the age of five to receive compulsory education and to learn basic knowledge. The duration of compulsory education is five years, and primary school can be completed at the age of 10.

After graduation, 10-year-olds are recognized by law as adults, have the right to choose their own lifestyle, and at the same time need to take responsibility for earning their own living expenses.

For those who have graduated from primary school, the future path is roughly as follows:

Direct employment

Become a freelance trainer

Attend the Trainer Training Academy

Admission to a general middle school

Join the army

1. Direct employment

Citizens who have reached the age of 10 after graduation have the right to submit their resumes to various units and enterprises to apply for job opportunities. Due to the low level of education after graduating from primary school, most of the jobs that can be obtained are restaurant waiters, couriers and other jobs that do not require academic qualifications and have lower salaries. Most of the children who choose this way out are children from poor families who urgently need to earn money to support their families.

Some people will work in the family business with the help of their parents. This approach is especially common in the inheritance of genres and dojos.

Many famous restaurants, nurseries, pharmacies and other shops have been passed down by the descendants of the founders, and the 500-year-old Blue Pharmacy is a case in point.

Some children from prominent families go on to their own family companies.

2. Become a freelance trainer

Freelance trainers, i.e., trainers who do not have a fixed schedule or job, and earn bonuses to make ends meet, travel and challenge rings, major gyms, and official leagues. Their goal in life is usually to win a league or to be a Pokémon Master.

The Alliance offers many perks for Trainers, such as Pokémon Centers, Friendly Shops, and more. Freelance trainers are mainly funded by prize money from official competitions, and trainers with fluctuating incomes and instability often have a hard time surviving and need financial assistance from their families.

However, for trainers, travel is a crucial step in growth, and even those who aim to be a career trainer usually start with a period of travel experience. For certain professions that require field experience, such as executives, investigators, etc., the experience of traveling may be a plus point. There are also occupations that require induction trainees to have a longer period of travel experience.

Therefore, some trainer schools will set up longer holidays for students to travel and practice.

Even if it is not a job that requires trainers to be employed, such as guards and rangers, Pokémon trainers with strong combat power and physical fitness are usually more popular. As a result, the employment rate of trainers is usually high, and many freelancers will choose other jobs halfway through, and there are very few freelance trainers who remain unemployed for life.

3. Attend the Trainer Training Academy

There are many trainer academies for trainers around the world, and most of them are three-year academies, with exceptions such as the one-year Silver Academy.

Studying and graduating from an officially certified trainer training academy is a prerequisite for becoming a vocational trainer.

A vocational trainer is a trainer who works as a trainer and has a fixed position and salary. There are many special positions that require only trainers, such as the Pokémon Alliance's Enforcement Department and Search Department, where the entire staff is made up of trainers. In addition, there are also options for vocational trainers to become a gym owner, run an official dojo, or change careers to become a professional judge.

Even if it is not a job that requires trainers to be employed, Pokémon trainers with strong combat power and physical fitness are usually more popular, and vocational trainers are the most sought-after category of trainers, with a fairly high employment rate.

The first goal of most professional trainers is usually to get into the best-paid Pokémon League Search Department. Trainers working in the Enforcement and Search Divisions will be able to claim additional tasks from the Intranet in addition to completing their duties, and will receive additional rewards for completing them.

Located in Mihara City, PES is the most prestigious trainer training academy, and students who graduate from PES can be directly promoted to executive officers after three months of internship as an executive in the Alliance Enforcement Department.

Unlike the free five-year compulsory education, the vast majority of trainer training academies charge a fee, and the stronger schools usually have higher tuition fees. It can be difficult for a trained family to complete three years with financial support, so challenging the league and qualifying for the Heavenly King Championship has become the only way for many poor teenagers to become professional trainers. However, very few people can achieve this goal.

Some Trainer Academies can exchange exams for badges from local official gyms. Students who pass the exam do not need to travel to collect eight badges to participate in regional leagues.

4. Admission to a general secondary school

Most secondary schools recruit students based on graduation test scores, and some have set up special enrollment methods such as independent enrollment.

There is no age limit for secondary school admissions, but many secondary schools only admit fresh graduates. A small number of secondary schools have admissions tests, and non-graduates can also sign up, but the score standard is usually higher than that of new graduates. After graduating from primary school, those who choose to try their hand at a career such as a trainer can enter secondary school through this route.

The duration of secondary education is four years, and from the second year onwards, the liberal arts and sciences are differentiated.

Students who have graduated from secondary school can choose to work or continue their studies in vocational and technical schools, colleges and universities, etc.

This route is the most widely employable and safer than becoming a trainer, so more than half of primary school graduates choose this route. Parents also expect their children to study hard and get a high degree of education.

Compared to the Trainer Training Institute, the tuition fees in secondary schools are relatively low. For students who like Pokémon and their families can't afford to travel, it is also a good choice to study a subject related to Pokémon studies.

The best Pokémon Research Academy is Rainbow Public University in Rainbow City, and the only one that requires students to be trainers for admission.

5. Join the army

Primary school graduates can submit their resumes to participate in the entrance exams of military schools in various places, and those who pass can be enrolled.

Military school training is usually three years, and there is no age limit for admission, and only trainers with six Pokémon are allowed to enroll. Entrance exams usually include a trainer fitness test and a Pokémon battle, and some military schools also have cultural assessments.

Most of the physical fitness tests in military schools are very strict, not only to ensure physical health after a precise physical examination, but also to have requirements for height, weight, endurance, explosiveness, etc., and students who want to enter the school need to go through hard exercise.

Some military schools have special restrictions on admissions. For example, the most famous military academy requires students to be at least 12 years old.

Students who graduate from military schools receive military status and are assigned to various parts of the country to hold different positions in the military. The alliance has a high welfare package for military personnel, and the relatives of military personnel will also receive corresponding preferential treatment.

Since the outbreak of the Somina Annihilation, the northern border has been relatively chaotic, and as a result, the number of students applying for military schools has decreased.
