Genres are factions that have a unique style in terms of martial arts or training PokΓ©mon.
In the past, experienced martial artists and trainers set up training institutions called "dojos" in order to pass on the skills they had honed over the years to the next generation. The well-known dojo has accumulated enough strength and reputation over the years, and the venues have become larger and more numerous, and gradually evolved into a form of existence called "genre".
Genres that have been passed down from generation to generation often have their own unique styles. In the case of the Trainer School, for example, the vast majority of schools specialize in a certain attribute or type of skill, and the long-established schools even have unique skills that are not passed down to the public.
And the dojos opened by well-known schools are often referred to as "famous doors".
There are a total of seven recognized top genres in the PokΓ©mon League. They are the fierce poison stream and the grass star stream of Guandu, the heart eye stream of the orange islands, the rigid fist stream of Joto, the soft fist stream and the imperial spirit stream of Hoen, and the blue snow stream of Sinnoh.
In addition to the seven top schools, the number of second- and third-rate schools is so large that it is like a hundred flowers blooming β and it is still increasing. Many obscure schools of thought have passed on relatively obscure techniques, but they can come in handy on some special occasions.
There is quite a fierce competition between the genres. The annual genre competition is a good opportunity for each school to show itself to the world, and it is also the best occasion for the disciples of each school to hone themselves.
The head of the genre has considerable influence among trainers. As the top spokesmen of the genre, they often have the strength not inferior to the hall owner, and they are also very good at teaching disciples.
Many of the owners are themselves heads of a certain genre.
Like the dojo, the "genre" is a valuable asset that has been passed down for thousands of years. It is the knowledge and skills created by the ancestors that have been passed down and the command of generations to evolve that has enabled modern trainers to learn from this and move forward.
