Genres are factions that have a unique style in terms of martial arts or training Pokémon.

In the past, experienced martial artists and trainers set up training institutions called "dojos" in order to pass on the skills they had honed over the years to the next generation. The head of the genre has considerable influence among trainers. As the top spokesmen of the genre, they often have the strength not inferior to the hall owner, and they are also very good at teaching disciples.

Many of the owners are themselves heads of a certain genre.

Like the dojo, the "genre" is a valuable asset that has been passed down for thousands of years. It is the knowledge and skills created by the ancestors that have been passed down and the command of generations to evolve that has enabled modern trainers to learn from this and move forward.
