Chapter 4: The Fish Demon
The so-called shark sailboat refers to a type of fast sailing boat.
It has larger sails and a slender hull, which is good for riding the waves. It can only be used to carry light cargo and fast commuting, and is usually used to transport postal express mail.
Due to the low strings of this type of boat, it had to lean directly on it to possibly shoot the grappling hook over and then board the ship. Fortunately, the pirate ship was not equipped with artillery, otherwise the Swan would have been captured.
Alfonso commanded the sailors aboard the Swan and maneuvered around the pirate ship, a contest of skill and experience, as well as physical strength and will.
The sea breeze seemed to be a little lighter, and the pirate ship was a little closer, and with good eyesight, he could see the sights of the pirates on the other side.
As it got closer, the pirate ship's bow with metal ramming horns seized an opportunity and crashed straight ahead.
"Be careful, hold on!" roared Captain Alfonso and the sailors.
During the violent impact, the Swan shook violently, and the right tail of the Swan was damaged in the click, but fortunately, the Swan had adjusted its direction in advance, unloading at least half of the impact force, and was not overturned at the moment of impact.
The pirates laughed wildly, some men shot indiscriminately at the deck of the Swan with rifles, and some sailors on the Swan couldn't help but return fire.
Sean burst into the Countess's suite, followed by several of the Countess's guards, who held him firmly in the middle.
"Is there anything wrong with you, Mr. Connelly?" asked the countess.
"Ma'am, I'm sorry, I need to borrow the window of your room. Sean said.
Ignoring the Countess's answer, he walked straight to a window facing the pirate ship, and threw everything on the dresser in front of the window to the ground.
The Countess stopped the indignant guards and said in a cold tone:
"It's just something outside of the body. ”
Sean pressed the dresser against the window, his left knee pressed against the deck, steadied his figure, and quietly protruded the barrel of the rifle from the exposed corner.
There is no wind and waves on the sea, not to mention that the wind is not small at this time, and the hull of the ship is bumpy. From the narrow firing range, the target on the opposite pirate ship is even more uncertain.
Sean must be foolproof and hit one of the leading figures with one shot.
"Steward Miller, go and tell Captain Alfonso that I need to get the pirates closer to me. If he and his henchmen still have eggs, let the pirates take the strings and jump!"
When Miller heard this, his expression changed greatly, and he couldn't help but look at his master.
Next to the countess was a delicate pistol, she was not wearing a veil at this time, her face was nervous, her red lips trembled, but her blue eyes still revealed firmness and stubbornness.
"Do as he says, Mr. Miller. ”
Butler Miller immediately left the room. Sean then said to the four guards of the countess:
"A few of you listen to my deployment, come here!"
The four strong men looked at each other, glanced at the countess, and when the countess nodded, they reluctantly walked to the window.
"How are you marksmanship?" asked Sean.
One of the four, the first of the four, replied:
"Within two hundred meters, we can guarantee to hit the target, but on this ship, I'm afraid it's a little difficult. ”
"That's enough. Sean nodded, he handed a single-hole telescope to the man and said, "I noticed that there are powder kegs on the pirate ship, different colors, white knees painted on the barrel hoops, and the powder kegs in the army are also configured like this, I guess they are produced by an arms company."
The powder kegs were right on the deck, put together, there were about four barrels. They are so bold that they treat us like lambs to the slaughter, and later you will aim at the powder keg, do not show the barrel of the gun, take care of concealment, and do not shoot privately, as long as you hear the sound of my gun, you will fire. And then free shooting, do you understand?"
"Understood!" replied the four in a haggled manner.
"Louder!" Sean couldn't help but raise his voice.
"Understood!"
"Good!" Sean nodded in satisfaction, letting each of the four gunmen take a telescope and look at it, and then choose a firing point each.
The Swan lowered its mainsail and raised the white flag, which meant that the Swan was about to surrender.
The pirates cheered, listening to their whistles from a long distance, and the pirate ship circled from the stern of the Swan to the right, slowly approaching the Swan.
Sean aimed his rifle at the deck of the pirate ship, and a tall guy was giving orders to the pirates around him, wearing a navy colonel's uniform and a black tricorne hat on his head, and he didn't know where he got it.
The pirates were armed with a variety of weapons, mainly pistols, some with horn guns, others with swords or knives, and a variety of clothing.
The sailors on the Swan, all standing on deck, no one with weapons, seemed to be very deferential, and they even broke down.
The pirates shot their grappling hooks at the Swan and then attempted to force the two ships together.
Bah, Sean opened fire decisively.
The pirate leader was half shorter, because the moment Sean opened fire, a huge wave hit, and because of this fluctuation, Shaw shot the man in the abdomen, not in the head.
Sean methodically reloads his ammunition, but the four guards of the countess's house open fire almost simultaneously, and they successfully hit the powder keg on the pirate ship.
The dazzling glitter was followed by a violent explosion, and everything on the pirate ship's deck was shrouded in smoke, with mangled human bodies breaking through the smoke and flying through the air.
Even the Swan was affected, with a hole more than a metre above the waterline. The location is right at Sean's feet.
Alfonso got up from the deck, slashed the grappling hook that the pirate had fired earlier, wiped the sweat from his face, and shouted:
"Lift anchor, hoist the sails!"
With the exception of a few sailors with guns on alert, everyone was on motion.
Sean and the four gunmen kept shooting, especially Sean, who shot the big and small bosses on the deck one after another who tried to call the shots.
The Swan quickly detached from the scene, leaving only the pirate ship to rest in the middle of the sea.
Captain Alfonso cruised around the pirate ship. The explosion not only directly destroyed the superstructure of the pirate ship, but also killed most of the pirates, lost the sails, the ship was no longer able to move on its own, and the ship was still on fire, and some pirates could be seen struggling to jump into the sea from a distance.
Captain Alfonso did not rescue the pirates who had escaped, in his words:
"Dust to dust, sea to sea. ”
He waited until there was no one on the pirate ship and then he sent a small boat to approach the pirate ship. Sean wondered if the guy was born to eat this bowl of rice.
"My ship has suffered damage, and although I am sure that the Countess will give me some compensation, I would like some loot. ”
Alfonso saw his men standing opposite and waving his arms, and immediately ordered the Swan to dock with the pirate ship, which was still emitting smoke.
However, the situation has changed.
Poof.
Several harpoon-shaped things flew over from the other side of the pirate ship.
Alfonso's men died instantly.
Sean and the others looked over and saw three huge whales riding the wind and waves on the other side of the pirate ship.
On top of each whale were a man who was bare-chested, with light blue skin and a short apron-like ornament around their waists to hide their shame, but shockingly, their legs were in the shape of fins.
"God, what kind of monster is this!"
Baker exclaimed, he didn't know where to hide just after the battle with the pirates.
The three fish demons drove the three giant whales in a circle around the swan, and outside the circle, at some point, they had focused on the dense sharks, they were huge, with sharp teeth like swords, and they looked like a huge disciplined army of ocean cannibals.
Everyone on the Swan turned pale.
Even Captain Alfonso, who had been at sea for twenty years, found it incredible, and his face turned pale:
"This is the Fish Demon, the legendary Fish Demon! God, what did I do wrong?"
"Full sails!"
After a brief moment of distraction, Captain Alfonso roared and ordered to flee with all his might.
All the sailors moved, and the desire to survive made them use more strength and energy than they had just fought against the pirates, to catch the wind.
The Swan went as fast as it could, and the hull made a great turn at a great inclination, almost capsizing, the squeaky masts of the nervous sails, and the unsecured objects on the deck were thrown into the sea.
Behind the Swan, three horsemen chased after it, while the huge army of man-eating sharks outflanked in a large area, and it was spectacular from a distance.
In addition to Captain Alfonso and his sailors, who were controlling the ship, Sean, Baker, Miller's butler, and the merchants on the same ship all worked together to throw all the cargo that could be thrown out of the ship into the sea, hoping to lighten the burden on the Swan and make it faster.
As one of the finest merchant ships, the Swan has a maximum speed of nearly 20 knots when it is headwind, but at this time, when it is downwind, it is not faster than the army of man-eating sharks that are chasing it with all its might.
These man-eating sharks can cruise for long distances at speeds much higher than those of merchant ships.
The Swan is like their prey, roundabout, driven and surrounded by sharks, and the sailors are exhausted, constantly raising and lowering the sails, changing the angle of the wind, and always unable to escape the fate of being surrounded.
Luckily, these man-eating sharks can't jump on board and eat people.
At sea level, the sunset is like blood.
"Captain, you have to kill those fish-men, or they'll keep chasing them. Sean yelled as he rushed to the deck.
The ship was also equipped with a ballista, which was specially designed to shoot whales and was a must-have for some merchant ships, as it was a windfall if you were lucky enough to shoot a whale during your trip.
There was a ballista on the left and right on the deck, each equipped with a winch, which required four people to operate. Sean and the others stood at the stern of the boat with rifles, shooting from time to time to make a big noise.
The ballista didn't hit the gosel, but it did manage to make the goblin relax its pursuit.
By this time the night had already darkened, and the Swan had finally forced the goblin to abandon the pursuit.
Everyone was highly nervous before, and when they relaxed, they felt tired, and there were people lying on the deck.
"This world is terrible!" Sean said to himself.
Captain Alfonso, on the other hand, climbed onto the mast and laughed.
