Chapter 82: Clever Schemes
"Later, I handed over the body to them. ”
"Them?"
"'They' are an organization that is planning a terrific conspiracy, I don't know the specifics, they want to blackmail me into joining the organization, or they will kill Jenny. Paul sighed.
"From the analysis, this is very likely. Bai Lotian said worriedly.
"The thought that Jenny might now be worse off than dead and tortured makes my heart feel like bleeding. ”
"I sympathize with you and hope I can help you, friend. Bai Lotian continued, "Jenny is controlled by Grace's gang, and only by finding him can we find Jenny's whereabouts." ”
Actually, Bai Lotian didn't say it, if he found Grace, maybe Professor Feng's whereabouts would be clear.
Paul nodded in agreement.
"Can you try if Jenny's phone doesn't work?"
"I've tried it countless times, but it's all turned off, which is really worrying. With that, Paul pulled his phone out of his pocket and dialed Jenny's phone again.
With a "snap", Paul slammed his phone on the table, his face flushed, and his chest fell together.
Apparently, Jenny's phone is still turned off.
"Are you alright?" Bai Lotian walked over and gently patted Paul's shoulder as a sign of comfort.
"What else can we do now? Is it just sitting? I can't stand it. ”
"It's better for us to take the initiative. ”
"Take the initiative?" Paul looked up at Bai Lotian.
"Yes, you can text Grace and say there's important information to tell Grace and he's definitely going to be interested. ”
"And then?"
Bai Lotian approached Paul and whispered the plan in his ear.
When Paul heard this, he nodded his head again and again, gave a thumbs up, and his face gradually turned from cloudy to clear.
As Bai Lotian predicted, the day after Paul sent the message, he received a call from Grace.
The noisy daylight is over, and the glittering nightlife has just begun.
Paul handed Lotte a slip of paper with the address of the Reading Bar on Grant Street.
Bai Lotian put the note in his pocket, waved to Paul gently, closed the door with a smile, and walked into the elevator.
Coming to Paul's Dodge car, Bai Lotian looked left and right, there was no one around, walked to the back of the car, squatted down, removed the license plate and put it in the trunk.
At eight o'clock in the evening, Bai Lotian arrived on time on Grant Street.
When Bai Lotian turned off the engine and pulled the car close to the shoulder of the road, the street lamps on the street were glowing dimly, the wet ground was sticky, the feet were soft, and the air was filled with the smell of rain.
It is a street close to the suburbs, the street is sparsely populated, some of the roads are potholed by cars, some of the street lamps are in disrepair, or have no lampshades, or have burned out the wicks, like the eyes of a blind man, just sitting there, and the facades of many buildings are peeling off, revealing irregular spots, like zebras standing there.
Bai Lotian jumped out of the car, closed the door and locked it, leaned against the door, and stared at the glass door of the Reading Bar.
There is a neon sign in front of the bar that says "BEER", and the inside is dimly lit, diagonally opposite a narrow store.
Bai Lotian let out a sigh of relief, walked over, pushed open the glass door plastered with propaganda posters, and walked into the dilapidated three-story building.
He walked into a dimly lit hallway, down a dilapidated wooden staircase, and straight to the third floor, creaking old planks.
"Hey, buddy, what about your eyes?" exclaimed a drunken, dark-skinned man with a scar on his forehead.
Obviously, he bumped into Bai Letian, but he was standing on the stairs, spewing wine in his mouth, holding a lit cigarette in his hand, and looking at Bai Lotian viciously, with a fierce look in his eyes.
Bai Lotian didn't want to make a difference, so he said "I'm sorry" and got out of the way with a smiling face.
When the drunk man staggered down, Bai Lotian climbed the stairs and passed through the corridor on the third floor, where he saw the small door of the bar, which was hidden and quiet inside.
Bai Lotian pushed open the door, glanced inside, and walked in.
