Chapter 173: Human-Faced Spider
In the entire dark and oppressive space, only a little fluorescence from Allen's wand could be seen.
Suddenly, Eren stopped, stunned as if under a spell.
He saw a pair of eyes, reflecting a ghostly light in the darkness, staring at him.
The unknown is the most terrifying.
Alan didn't know what kind of temperament the owner of these eyes was, mild or irritable, was it harmful to humans, and was it aggressive?
He stretched his wand forward, trying to see through with the help of a fluorescent charm.
The eyes flickered to the side, and then a white thing ran past Alan.
In a panic, the white shadow stumbled into a piece of granite, staggered a few steps to the side, and in the blink of an eye, it hid in the dark shadow of another pile of ruins.
Eren paused for a few seconds before deciding to follow.
At first, Alan couldn't find it, but after groping around in the ruins of a dark stone house, Alan found a round well, exactly like the ones he had found before.
However, the well was half-hidden by a fallen pillar.
An idea popped up to Allen: Could it have been down the wall of the well into the well?
Alan poked his head out and looked down in the light of the fluorescent spell to see something the size of a giant turtle, white and fast-moving.
As it crawled down, the big bright eyes of the thief stared straight at Allen, and Allen shuddered!
It's a spider with a human face!
It was climbing down the wall of the shaft when Alan noticed that along the wall of the shaft, there were many black protruding stones forming a ladder to descend the shaft.
The human-faced spider crawled extremely fast, and soon disappeared into the darkness that the wand could not illuminate.
"It seems that the ground beneath my feet must have been dug in a criss-cross, and the tunnels in these round wells are the passages to the underground space. Alan speculated in his heart.
To confirm his suspicions, Alan planned to go down to find out, but something tugged at the hem of his clothes.
Eren turned his head instantly, and it was Tina and Sniff who had shrunk down.
They were anxious when they saw Allen's desire to go down.
Alan sensed that they had relied on the animal's natural instincts to sense that there was something bad in the well down there.
However, Alan had been aroused by the white human-faced spider, and despite Tina and Sniff's resistance, he withdrew them back into the pet space and jumped over the well fence.
It must be admitted that Allen's action in going down the well was quite hurried, because he was worried that in such a dark and unfamiliar and oppressive environment, he would lose the courage to continue exploring in the next second.
After climbing down a distance of about two hundred meters, Alan felt very tired.
The raised boulders were clearly intended for the human-faced spiders who were smaller and lighter than Eren, and they were so small and narrow that Eren struggled to get up.
He felt aggrieved and tired.
If it was just like this, a stone step came loose, and the weight of Allen suddenly rolled into the deep well, almost throwing Allen to the bottom of the pitch-black well.
After a few moments, Alan was hanging there with one hand clutching a raised stone.
After a false alarm, Alan endured the pain in his arms and back and crawled down the well as fast as he could.
I don't know how long it took to climb, but Alan changed his mind several times and wanted to climb up, and then didn't care about what was going underground.
But such thoughts were dispelled after a few turns in his mind, because it might be harder and more tiring to go up, and maybe it would soon be the end!
Finally, Allen's feet were on the ground, and a narrow hole appeared in the wall of the well about a foot to his right.
Alan let out a long sigh of relief and burrowed into the hole.
Inside the entrance is a narrow horizontal tunnel.
With his wand in hand, Alan cautiously made his way through the tunnel to a huge underground cavern.
It was an arched cavern that stretched out into the darkness out of wand's reach.
A huge stone statue of a chicken, snake, and beast cast a strange black shadow in this hazy light.
The human-faced spider hid in the shadows, dodging the light and looming.
There was a smell of blood in the air. A little further away from the central clearing, the bones of small birds and beasts were scattered.
The strong smell of blood, the inexplicable stone statues, and the human-faced spiders lurking in the shadows, all of this makes people feel uncomfortable.
Alan felt that he might have guessed wrong, how could Salazar Slytherin build a vault in such a place?
He must have inadvertently broken into the human-faced spider's lair.
I just don't know if there is only one such spider, or if there is a group!
As if thinking that Eren could not pose a threat to it, the human-faced spider actually crawled out of the shadows and quickly crawled towards Alan.
Eren dodged, dodging its hook-like feet.
At this moment, Alan could see clearly the inhuman, ghostly face of this spider-man - a pale, chinless face, and large, eyelidless, light red and slightly gray eyes!
Looks disgusting!
The human-faced spider seemed to want to turn Eren into its food, opened its mouth and spat out a long piece of spider silk in an attempt to entangle Alan.
"The fire is raging!" the tongue of fire scurried down the spider's silk towards the human-faced spider.
The human-faced spider quickly cut off its silk and hid back into the shadows.
The burning spider silk fell to the ground, and gradually the fire weakened, and then extinguished after burning the spider silk to the ground.
It seems that seeing that Eren is not easy to mess with, the human-faced spider intends to escape.
This emotional fluctuation was captured by Allen.
Alan took advantage of the victory to pursue, but the human-faced spider could not dodge Eren's attack with all his might, and was finally petrified in place.
Looking closely in this cave, Alan was pleasantly surprised to find traces of the venom of the chicken snake beast.
The corpses of those birds and beasts are likely to be captured by chickens, snakes, and beasts to raise human-faced spiders.
After taking a closer look at the imprints of life left by the Chicken Snake Beast and the Human-Faced Spider in the cave, Alan guessed that in return, the Human-Faced Spider was likely to take on the role of the Chicken Snake Beast's mount, carrying the Chicken Snake Beast, which was not agile, to climb the round well.
This proves that Allen's speculation may be correct, and this is indeed the place where the secret room can be reached!
Alan walked deeper along the cavern.
After walking in the darkness for a while, Alan came to a large hall.
It was as if it had detected the magic emitted by Alan's wand, and the surrounding light was bright.
The magic lamps on the walls lit up one by one, and the bright light dispelled the darkness.
Directly in the direction of Allen, a bronze gate stood in front of Allen, engraved with an ancient magic script: Only wizards of pure blood can enter this gate!
