Chapter 15: One of the Secrets of the Bloodthirsty
Benjamin Don's lair is a cave.
Contrary to Sean's imagination, the cave was extremely spacious and dry. In the deepest part of the cave is the residence of the bandit leader Tang, where the bloodthirsty man also lives.
Interrogating the captives, Sean learns that the origin of this bloodthirsty man is quite mysterious, he only joined the gang a year ago, only knows that his name is Eden, and ordinary bandits do not know that he is a bloodthirsty.
Don trusts Eden and considers him his confidant.
Sean finds Eden's room and tries to find some useful clues. He was curious about this kind of alien.
Having confronted a hostess who claimed to be a bloodthirsty person, and even being released by her for some unknown reason, Sean was eager to learn more about this kind of stranger.
Of course, Inhumans are just their self-proclaimed names, but the people of the time directly call them monsters. From the beginning of recorded history, bloodthirsty and other aliens have always been rejected and attacked by humans.
Unlike other Inhumans, Bloodthirsty are apparently more likely to blend in with normal humans, and their only distinguishing trait - two fangs that can shrink on their own - makes them difficult to spot.
Legend has it that bloodthirsty people feed on human blood. This is obviously not true, as if not saying so does not highlight the evil of the enemy. At the very least, there was no one in the Tang Gang who provided blood food for the bloodthirsty man named Eden, who was a vegetarian.
There is also a legend that if an ordinary human bitten by a bloodthirsty person gets a wound with their saliva, the bitten human will become like them.
This is even more unlikely, if there is such a powerful contagion, this world would have been full of bloodthirsty, there is nothing normal human to do, and they don't have to walk in the dark like this.
Eden's room was very simple and tidy, and it was obvious that this guy was very different from the average bandit, and he even folded his own change of clothes neatly.
If he were in the outside world, he would definitely be a very disciplined guy who was not rich.
Such a person, who has lived in a group of stinking bandits for a year, must have felt very distressed from time to time.
Seeing a few books on a simple desk, Sean suddenly thought of a possibility.
There was a lock on the drawer, and Sean ordered someone to pick the lock open.
There were three small pockets on the outermost side of the drawer, one for gold, one for silver, and one for copper, and each coin was brand new, this guy must be some kind of obsessive-compulsive person.
Inside the drawer was a stack of letterheads, and on the top page was a letter, which looked like it hadn't been finished:
"Sage above, your devout followers have reported to you from the Black Forest that I have taken initial control of Benjamin Don's gang.
The miracle medicine you have given is extremely effective. Benjamin Don has become inseparable from it and has completely surrendered to our great goddess. I'm running out of stock, I hope you can send some more.
Following your instructions, I have chosen to stand still and secretly increase our strength until the Goddess comes......"
Who is the Magi? Does this goddess mean Lady Liberty? That's the true religion of God, and I haven't heard of this religion being outlawed.
Sean also found a small wooden box, which was opened and found to be designed into small compartments, each of which contained a clear glass vial containing white powder.
"What's in there?" Sean asked one of the bandits who had been caught.
"This is fairy powder. The bandit replied, and in order to survive, he said, "Dividing the powder out of the size of a fingernail and mixing it with tobacco to smoke it, or inhaling it directly into the nostrils, will make the whole body feel relaxed and mentally happy, Eden said that it is a miracle medicine." We call it fairy powder. ”
That's some kind of highly purified drug.
Opium smoking was also a common practice in Europa, and although it was generally considered a vice, some nobles and wealthy people still smoked it.
But this kind of purified high-end goods is unheard of.
This may be one of the secrets of the Bloodthirsty Order. But this bloodthirsty man is clearly also a small character.
A significant portion of the captured bandits had smoked fairy powder, and by the time their addiction was revealed, Sean had already left the gang's lair, and Lieutenant Colonel Horns ordered them to be hung upside down in the lake to sober them up.
A few days later, however, all of them died.
According to Giron-Borg's later account, the scene of their death was horrific. Even Lieutenant Colonel Horns was frightened, fearing something ominous, and ordered the men to be cremated and then thrown into the river and washed away.
This shocked Sean very much, once he relied on this so-called fairy powder, he would not be able to escape the fate.
