Chapter 296: Spring River Flowers

Chunjiang Huayan Zhang Baotong 2016.11.22

"A big river has waves, and the wind blows the rice and flowers on both sides." Pen Fun Pavilion www.biquge.info whenever I hear this song, there is a deep affection and longing tumbling and stirring in my heart. Our family lives by the Miluo River, and the four seasons and scenery along the river have been hidden in my heart and memory for many years, and have become a beautiful emotion of yearning and struggle in my life.

When it comes to the Miluo River, people will always associate it with Qu Yuan. Because the Miluo River is famous for Qu Yuan. Qu Yuan is China's greatest patriotic poet. At the end of the Warring States period, when he was exiled, he lived on the Yudi Mountain on the bank of the Miluo River. In 278 B.C., the capital of Chu (now Jingzhou City, Hubei) was broken by the Qin army, Qu Yuan felt filled with grief and indignation, there was no hope of saving the country, and Huaishi sank himself in the Miluo River. Local fishermen rowed dragon boats to rescue Qu Yuan, fearing that the fish in the river would eat his body, so they wrapped rice balls in dumpling leaves and threw them in the river. As a result, the Miluo River has become the birthplace of two important Chinese folk customs: dragon boat rowing and zongzi making. After Qu Yuan's body was recovered from the river, half of his head, which had been eaten by fish, was repaired with gold. In order to prevent tomb robbery, people built twelve tombs for him by the river, and set up a Qu Yuan Temple. So far, that small temple has been built into a large Qu Zi Temple.

The story of Qu Yuan's throwing into the river always gives the Miluo River a sad tone, but in fact, as those of us who grew up by the river, what the Miluo River gives us is the scenery and customs of the riverside.

The Miluo River originates in Jiangxi Province, flows through Pingjiang County, Hunan, enters Miluo City at Xinshi, and flows north into Dongting Lake. It is mainly sourced by the south tributary "Mishui", and the north tributary "Luoshui" merges with Qu Tan in Miluo City to form the Miluo River. For millions of years, the Miluo River has been like an ordinary river, flowing day and night, silently flowing into Dongting Lake. Like the ladies of a few feudal families, they are obedient, gentle and subtle, and not shocked. If it weren't for Qu Yuan's defection to the river, she might not have attracted the attention of the world.

However, the white-walled cottages on both sides of the Miluo River are peach red and willow green, the folk customs are simple, the water and grass are fertile, and they have a typical style of water towns in the south of the Yangtze River. As a hometown, she makes us feel beautiful and warm.

Strictly speaking, Miluo is not my hometown, because I moved with my parents with the Railway Engineering Office since I was a child, first along the Baocheng Railway, then to Pucheng in Shaanxi Province, then to Nanping in Fujian Province, and finally settled in Miluo. Because she was the home of most of my childhood and my whole life. So, in my emotions and concepts, she became my hometown.

Our Agency came to Miluo to build the Miluo River Railway Bridge. This is the first bridge over the entire Miluo River. At that time, Miluo was just a small town in Xiangyin County. The street is no more than twenty or thirty meters long and about four or five meters wide, and the ground in the middle is paved with two rows of bluestone slabs. The two-storey wooden loft was one of the finest dwellings of its time.

When I was in the second or third grade, I used to dig camelina in the fields by the river with my sister, pick up soft ground on the river embankment, and make edges and corners in the pond by the river. So, when I think back to my childhood, I feel that time was so sweet and happy. I remember that my family lived a very hard life in Shaanxi, often not even having enough sweet potatoes, and lived in caves all year round. However, when he arrived in Mira, his life suddenly changed. There is a lot of rice, pork and fresh fish, and the live crucian carp is only four dimes a catty. Our Agency has become the richest and most enviable unit in the region.

When I was in the third grade, my brother transferred from Xianyang, Shaanxi Province and returned to Miluo. Because the Agency was mobile in the past, my brother had been going to school in Xianyang, Shaanxi. However, Xianyang's life is very hard, my brother always can't grab food when he goes to the canteen, and when he queues up to the window, the canteen is already out of food, so he often has to go hungry. The man is yellow, hungry, thin, nervous, and always wets the bed at night. Therefore, my mother transferred him from Xianyang to the No. 1 Middle School in Miluo County to go to junior high school.

During the period of the suspension of classes and the revolution, the school was closed, and I followed my brother to Qu Yuan's farm and the Miluo River all day to go fishing. At that time, no one cared about fishing, and we could catch more than ten catties every time we went. I can't finish eating at home, so I share it with my neighbors. Although I have been passing by the Miluo River all day, I have hardly ever paid attention to the scenery along the river. It wasn't until I graduated from high school at the age of fifteen that I went to the countryside that I began to pay attention to the riverside and the scenery on the river. Because I realized that those scenery and landscapes can be a kind of mood and emotion that can be used in me.

I went to the countryside to the Unity Brigade in Huangshi Commune, which happened to be facing the Luojiang River, backed by the tea mountain, and surrounded by mountains and rivers. And the Luo River is actually Luo Shui, a tributary of the Miluo River. The house where I live is next to the embankment, and the brigade headquarters is at the end of the embankment behind my house.

In the evening, I often sat on the grass of the river embankment, watching the sunset in the west, playing the harmonica sadly, yearning for the golden student days. Because under the sunset, you can see the high chimneys of the county seat, and our home is over there. Sometimes when I think of my beloved lover, I can't help but shed tears of longing. I also used to go to my brother's grain store. The grain store is right on the riverside in Newmarket. It is from here that the Miluo River enters Miluo County. There is a street by the river called Xinshi Street, which is the same as the original Miluo Town, with wooden attics on both sides and bluestone slabs in the middle. It's just that this street is much longer than the small town of Miluo.

There was a highway bridge on the street, which was the only concrete bridge in the territory of Mira at that time. Every time I came to my brother's place, I would stand under the bridge and watch the sunset. The sunset here is very gorgeous, the sunset is golden in the waves, and the red sunset dyes the river red. There is an isolated island hundreds of years long in the river, and the island is a large forest, and at dusk, a hundred birds compete and make a sound. Sometimes thousands of birds fly in unison, shaking the sky to tremble.

Miluo belongs to the northern Hunan hills, and the riverside is full of hills. The hills are covered with green trees and grass. When the spring flowers are in full bloom, you can see large patches of spring flowers blooming in the wind at the edge of the forest and on the grass. After the spring flowers are defeated, you can hear the cuckoos "cuckoo" in the mountains. Spring and the rainy season come at the same time, so spring is almost spent in the rain.

Spring plowing and spring planting is a busy season, and it is also a time when the mountains are full of flowers. Beside the riverside water, among the woodlands and mountains, you can see pieces of fire-like mountains and reds competing for beauty, shining red. The bright red and deep color can dye your heart red. It's a really intoxicating feeling, and it's wonderful.

After a gust of spring breeze and drizzle, the peach blossoms at the head of the village are already so bright that they are beginning to fall. The pink peach blossoms are so delicate that they make people shudder, but they are also pleasing to the eye, and they can't help it. But when you look down, you can see that the fallen flowers are colorful, and the remnants of flowers are all over the ground, which makes people feel sad.

Later, the temperature rises, the mountain side, the mountain, the mountain beam, the hillside is full of yellow and golden rape flowers, with the spring breeze blowing, swaying in the wind, the buds are blooming, and exude a very strong and fragrant aroma. However, with the fragrant rape flowers, spring is coming to an end, and summer is just around the corner. The flowering period in the mountains is over.

People enjoy the flowers and scenery, sing the willows and sing the moon, which seems to be pleasant, but it is often a metaphor. The mountains and rivers of our hometown are beautiful and the scenery is gorgeous, but what really makes us miss and miss is the relatives and lovers in our hometown. It is their concern and love that makes our homesickness so deep and warm, and also makes us have so many beautiful yearning and memories.

Beautiful yearning and memories can beautify our hearts and emotions, and beautiful emotions are an impulse, a motivation. It inspires us to fight for the people we love, just like men in war, fighting to protect their loved ones. Because those good things are things that we don't want to lose and forget for the rest of our lives.

Scenes and memories from our childhood and school days have the deepest impression on us and have become the driving force that has influenced us throughout our lives. In contrast, those impressions and memories of our adulthood are much less impressive. And these impressions and memories are full of utilitarian and negative content. It is not conducive to our aggressiveness and happiness. Therefore, whether or not we live happily in childhood and school has a great impact on our emotions and character throughout our lives.

Every leisure, outing, homecoming, party, or travel and sightseeing in life will inject poetry and beauty into our souls, and the happiness of our life is like every bead on a pearl necklace. The more these beads are strung together, the stronger our sense of well-being. Because our happiness is constructed and composed of poetry, beauty, and joy.

I used to travel alone in the mountains, but now that I'm older and a little lazy, I don't want to run outside anymore. But I have to go back to my hometown every year. Because of my mother's old age, my siblings are scattered, and the whole family has to get together once during the Chinese New Year to make my mother happy. Every time I go home, I have to walk around the river, and sometimes I go back to the countryside to visit. However, everything I saw was so rusty and cold, and I couldn't find the feeling and feeling that I had decades ago. I don't know if it's because time has changed, things are wrong, or my own feelings have changed. Because the scenery and scenery witnessed with one's own eyes are always not as beautiful as in memory, have the scenery and scenery in memory been poetized by the beauty of the soul?

Although I have been away from Miluo for decades, the wide flow of the Miluo River often flows in my heart, and the beautiful and vivid red of the mountains often bloom in my heart, just like the endless customs and genes of my hometown continue to ferment and fission in my heart. I think that as long as life continues, I will be nostalgic for the spring river flowers in my hometown, and cherish them in my heart, turning them into a kind of poetic beauty, so as to make life feel good.

What are we looking for and pursuing in life? In fact, it is not material enjoyment, but spiritual pleasure. Material pleasures can only satisfy the face of vanity, but what nourishes the soul is sunshine, rain and poetic beauty. Material needs are easy to satisfy, while spiritual wealth is precious. The mountains and rivers of my hometown have given me a kind of sunrise and sunset, the feelings and artistic conception of the clouds and clouds, and given me a kind of poetry and emotion of spring breeze and autumn moon and beautiful mountains and rivers. For that, I will always be grateful. (To be continued.) )
