Chapter 934: The True Meaning of Love
The True Meaning of Love, compiled by Zhang Baotong, 2018.9.27
What is love? Love is an eternal question in our hearts. Love is an eternal yearning and search, it will always exist in the world, and once we find it, it will become eternal. But did we really find it?
When we define it, do we deny it? When we put limits on the love we believe in, do we start to hurt it because we know and have it? We give love to everyone around us, but this giving is conditional on expecting something in return. So, is this true love?
I recently overheard someone in conversation saying that there is no such thing as "unconditional love". Although there will be many reasons and explanations, I agree with this view. Love itself is unconditional. Everything else is just an attempt at love, and learning to get closer to the other person is just a way of knowing true love. Love can be noble, kind, passionate, longing, courageous, and pure, or it can be considered temporary. If love is easily lost, it may not be true love at all. Love should not be weak and volatile, or it will not be the kind of love we hope for. We humans should be convinced of this.
Love is endowed with a beautiful and vivid breath of life and poetic painting, and is endowed with a beautiful melody and notes like a song, which makes people intoxicated and fascinated. Love is the heroic spirit of being able to sacrifice life and death for the person you love, love is the selfless dedication that is willing to give others a new life, and love is a never-ending passion and love that is always in the arms of the lover.
How many times have we failed to show our love to others for fear of rejection. Every time we reject a confession of love, are we not rejecting the gift of the Creator?
Lost, empty, lonely and searching, for those who have experienced separation, divorce, or even the loss of a loved one, this separation can be the most heart-wrenching pain we have ever experienced. This heartbreak is endless, endless, like a huge wave crashing against us every day. After a powerful and uplifting experience, our encounters are a reminder to re-recognize, to recognize our strength, to recognize our love of life, to recognize our sincerity in our faith, to recognize our loyalty to ourselves, and of course, to be sincere about ourselves. We are looking everywhere all the time, looking for love to come again.
For centuries, we have said, "Love is the feeling of passion meeting gaze, because the eye cannot hide the feelings of the heart". So we look around for the eternal love that we are obsessed with, but we lose sight of letting it occupy our hearts first. Perhaps, this is why we are so painful and sad when a relationship is frustrated. It is at that moment that we realize that we have lived up to the person we love, but we have not been able to get that love as we wanted. We defeat failure with the promise of failure. We have lost our love, and we don't know if we can get it back. The tide of affection rises and falls, sometimes turbulent, sometimes peaceful, and then surging again.
No matter how many words we say or how many tears we shed, no one can help us repair the wounds of our hearts, and the process of growing up is rainy and gloomy. The fire of our hearts cannot be extinguished and needs to be cared for, and we cannot let the wind blow it out, otherwise, we will be surrounded by darkness, coldness, and helplessness. At this time, we need to find that love in every little life around us. We will find that the sun will rise to welcome the dawn, the stars will still shine brightly to illuminate our nocturnal path, and the rivers will still flow day and night, rushing to the sea and never returning. The trees are still lush and vibrant, praising the gifts of their Creator. We need to hold our heads high, face life head-on, and learn from our setbacks.
What would you do if you woke up one day and found that you were the only living person on this earth? Who would you love? Why do we have to wait so long to start a new journey from the end? Love, in its endless journey, has no boundaries and no definition of failure.
Love never asks why. It doesn't come on its own, and it doesn't go on its own. It's always there. It's not just in our hands, it's actually in our hands. It's not just in our hearts, it's what motivates us every heartbeat. It surrounds us so tightly that we have to overcome some difficulties to access it as the breath we breathe every time we breathe, or even the last breath that sustains us for life.
