Chapter 33 The Red and Green of the Ten Famous Pits
The "Top Ten Fields" in the Jadeite Rough
1. Gray card:
The skin shell is variegated, mainly gray-green and gray-black, the transparency is different, and the bottom is unevenly distributed, but the water is often better where there is green. There is a huge difference in the size of individuals, ranging from hundreds of kilograms to tens of thousands of kilograms for large pieces.
2. Mamun (also known as Usha):
Black black sand with gray, the bottom of the water is generally poor, and often sandwiched with black silk or white mist, green to blue.
3. Wipe Gang (also known as Wipe Gang):
The skin is coarse, and the skin color is grayish-yellow or grayish-white; The water and the bottom are better, the cracks are less, it is a green or full green green and green high emerald variety, which rarely contains impurities, and the glass bottom is more common, but the yield is less.
4. Houjiang (also known as Kandi):
It is divided into the old Houjiang River and the new Houjiang, both of which are produced in the impact sand of the riverbed.
Among them, the old Houjiang is produced from the bottom of the impact layer. The skin is thin and gray-greenish-yellow, the individual is very small, rarely more than 0.3 kg, the water is good and the bottom is good, often full of green and high green, less fog, more cracks, the color of the finished product is better than the original stone (that is, the color increases), and the processing performance is good, it is the ideal material for making the ring surface.
The skin of the new Houjiang is thicker than the old Houjiang, the size is larger, generally about 3 kilograms, the water and the bottom are worse than the old Houjiang, the density is extremely hard, the cracks are more, the finished product is not as good as the original stone color after polishing, even if it is full of green, high cui, it is difficult to make high-end jewelry.
5. Massa:
It is a new factory, no skin or less skin, the green is lighter, the water and the bottom are good and bad, mainly used as low-grade bracelet materials or large ornament materials.
6. Messy Dryness:
For the new factory, no skin, good water and good bottom, there is white fog.
It is mainly produced violet and red jade, and generally has purple, red and light emerald coexistence in a piece of material, but there are many cracks.
7. Pagang :
It is a historical pit and is the earliest to be mined.
Pagang skin is thin, the skin is mainly gray and yellow-white, the crystalline is fine, the seed is good, the transparency is high, the color is sufficient, the size is large, from a few kilograms to hundreds of kilograms, it is a variety of sizes of music stones.
Generally, it is mainly produced as a low-grade brick material.
Lao Pagang is famous for producing black black sand with a black shell like coal, but it has been fully mined, and the black sand seen in the market is produced in Mameng.
8. Wood chopping (also known as knife grinding):
The skin shell is mostly brownish-gray, yellow-red, generally good for water and low, but mostly white fog and yellow fog. The size is small, usually 1-2 kg. This place also produces red jade like blood and fire, and it is also more precious.
9. Self-wall (also known as inferiority):
The leather shell is mainly yellow ash, the bottom of the water is good, the cracks are few, but there is white fog, its products are famous for the blue flower water, there is a small amount of green flower material to make high-grade bracelets, Tengchong's famous Qiluo is produced in this pit.
10. Longtang (also known as Longkeng):
It is mainly yellow sand skin or gray and white fish skin, and the skin shell is thicker. Most of the water and bottom are good, the green is very positive, and high green materials are often produced.

The value of jadeite is not judged by age, and the value of jadeite pays attention to the species, color and water head.
The "species" refers to the texture and structure of the jadeite, and the tighter the skin shell. The more delicate the texture, the more crystal clear the jadeite jade will be.
"Color" refers to Qiu color, and the color is uniform and the color is positive, strong, and yang.
"Water head" is transparency, and the luster is crystal clear, transparent and clear.
The so-called "glass species" is jadeite with the highest level of transparency.
~
The color of jadeite is rich and colorful, of which green is the top grade, and can be divided into three types according to the color.
(1) Skin color: refers to the color of the outermost epidermis of jadeite, and its formation is related to later weathering. These colors come in a variety of shades of red, yellow and grey, and are characterized by a nearly concentric shape in the outer skin close to the raw material.
The color red is often referred to as Fei.
(2) Ground color: also known as "base" color, which means background color, referring to other colors other than green, such as different shades of white, oil color, lotus root powder, gray, etc.
(3) Green color: refers to the natural color of jadeite, which is characterized by various shades of green. Sometimes green contains black.
Green is often referred to as emerald.
This is the so-called "red and green".
~
The common varieties include more than a dozen varieties such as old pit jadeite, ice jadeite, and water jadeite.
The grade of the species from high to bottom is: Laokeng glass species, water species, ice species, ice glutinous species, glutinous species, other species, and other species mainly depend on the color.
The color grades from high to low are: green (imperial green, positive green, apple green), red, yellow, purple.
National standard for color grades
Colorless | Green | Red-Yellow | Purple | Miscellaneous |
Shade: G=Green | yG=green(yellowish)| bG=Green (slightly blue)
Chroma: Ch1 = extremely concentrated | CH2=Concentrated | Ch3=Concentrated | Ch4=lighter | CH5=LIGHT |
Luminosity: V1=Bright| V2=Brighter | V3=Darker | V4=Dark |
Transparency level
Transparency refers to the degree to which the jade material transmits light. It can be divided into: transparent (t

spa
e
t), sub-transparent (semit

t), translucent (t

sluce
t), micro-transparent (semit

Texture level
Te1/Extra-fine | Te2/fine | Te3/thinner | Te4/coarse | Te5/Coarse |(Note: The texture affects the beauty and firmness of the jadeite, the more delicate and uniform the texture, the higher the quality of the jadeite.) )
Clarity grade
C1 / Extremely pure | C2/Pure | C3/Purer | C4 / Still pure | C5/Impure |(Note: The clarity of jadeite depends on the amount of impurity minerals contained in jadeite and the degree of fractures.) The purer the jadeite, the rarer and the higher the clarity. )
