Chapter 116: Reflecting the Red Mountain
Yingshan Red Zhang Baotong 2016.6.1
My home is in the northern Hunan region, which is known as the "land of fish and rice", where the hills are dense, the rain is abundant, the mountains and rivers are beautiful, and the products are abundant. Dongting Lake and Miluo River nourish the fertile land, and Yueyang Tower and Qu Zi Temple nurture outstanding people. In this beautiful land, there is also a beautiful flower in bloom - Yingshan Hong.
Yingshan red belongs to the rhododendron family flowers, evergreen or deciduous shrubs, the plant is low, the shape is natural, the color shape is red, yellow, white, purple, pink and other colors due to different species, generally open in spring in April. Just as roses have allusions to roses, carnations have the legend of carnations, and Yingshan red also has the origin of Yingshan Hong.
It is said that in ancient times, there was an emperor named Du Yu, who was in love with the queen abnormally, but was killed by traitorous ministers. After his death, Du Yu turned into a cuckoo, crying and wailing in the queen's garden every day, and the tears shed were drops of blood, staining the flowers in the queen's garden, so it was called azalea. The queen heard the cuckoo's wail, saw the red blood, and learned that it was her husband's ghost. Under the sadness, he wailed day and night "the son returns, the son returns", and finally died of depression. Her soul turned into a fiery red rhododendron, blooming all over the mountains and fields, and living with the rhododendron. Therefore, this rhododendron is also called Yingshan red.
The legends of ancient times are fictional, but the red mountains and fields in our hometown are beautiful and boundless. In April every year, it is the rainy season, and it is also the busy season of spring ploughing, and the saffron flowers are in the mountains, blooming red and bright by the reservoir, in full swing, almost reflecting the mountains and rivers in a fiery red. Especially after the rain or during the rain, the flowers are so red and so bright, as if they have dyed people's hearts into a deep red color. Whenever we pass by the lake and the hillside, we can't help but pick a handful and put it in the water bottle in front of the window, and we can't stop watching and appreciating. But after three or five days, the flowers withered. So, let's pick some more and put them on. However, the flowering period of the red does not seem to be long, and it does not take long for it to wither in large areas. It feels like a beautiful life is so short.
Later, I left my hometown and rarely went home again in that season, so I never saw the large saffron again. However, the flowers of my hometown often bloom in front of my eyes and in my heart. The flower is still so red, so bright, so spectacular and beautiful. Let me miss and miss, let me be fascinated. Sometimes I yearn for it, I will turn on the computer and listen to the song "Yingshan Hong" over and over again: in the middle of the night, I look forward to the dawn, and I look forward to the spring breeze in the cold winter. People see roses as a symbol of love and carnations as a healthy will. And I think Yingshanhong has more of a meaning of longing.
The moon is the hometown bright, and the flowers are the beauty of the hometown. Who doesn't say that your hometown is good? Because your hometown has your parents and relatives, your childhood and first love, and your feelings and longings that you will never end. And when the hometown is full of red in our hearts, it is when we are homesick. Her bright red and beauty are not just for viewing, but in fact a strong emotion, a powerful motivation, inspiring us wanderers to work hard and win glory for our family. Although we are far away from our hometown, we are also a beautiful red flower by the water in the mountains of our hometown.
