Chapter 519: Ruixi Palace Tower
As far as the eye can see, the windswept fields are vast, the Irrawaddy River on the vast fields twists and turns, reflecting the setting sun, and thousands of stupas are painted with the afterglow of the setting sun, leaving long shadows on the green fields, like the smooth resurrection of life, dancing softly.
Such a beautiful scenery is really intoxicating, standing here, Zhou Sen suddenly forgot the hustle and bustle of the city, looking at such a scene, the mood is also happy.
"I really didn't expect it, before I came to Myanmar, my impression of Myanmar was still on the information, I would think that it was relatively backward, after coming to Myanmar, I followed Thayer to many cities, only to find that Myanmar still has some beautiful scenery. ”
"Yes!" Thayer nodded, "Although Myanmar still can't compare with developed countries, and there is a certain gap with those countries and regions that are relatively well developed, but although it is backward, it still has beautiful scenery, some natural landscapes, some man-made temples, this city is still very distinctive, there are many pagodas, you can see it everywhere you go." ”
"The city of Vantasa is still very good, these pagodas can be preserved, and it is not easy to go through the vicissitudes of time and the test of wind and rain!"
"Yes, I'll take you to the next palace!"
The Shwe Khit Pagoda was built in the 11th century by King Anuradha who was the first and representative figure of Theravada Buddhism in Burma.
Thayer took everyone to visit, saw this palace tower, it still looks very chic, and heard Thayer say: "This palace tower still has a history, let me introduce it to you!"
Zhou Sen smiled, "Okay, Thayer, you know better, in this regard, you are still good at it, introduce it to us!"
The Shwe Khi Palace Pagoda was completed between 1086 and 1090 by King Anuradha (known as the greatest king of Bagan and a large-scale builder who ordered the construction of countless pagodas to make Bagan the "capital of 4 million pagodas".
"Every place has a unique history, history is the past, the years that have been experienced, many people have been experienced, many things have been experienced, the history of this city, I have also introduced some of them to you before, because of the relationship of time, I can't go into details. ”
"A lot of things have happened, and there are many people, some of whom have contributed to the construction of this place, and some of whom have also had wars and destruction, and the dust of history has gone away, and many old things are not worth mentioning, and they have been forgotten with the pace of history. ”
"But whenever I see these palace towers, I think of a lot of old things, and standing in front of these buildings, I will be very emotional!"
"Yes, architecture is a painting, it is also spiritual, sometimes, quietly looking at these ancient buildings, you will feel that they are works of art, each with its own characteristics, but also has its own charm!"
The Shwe Si Palace Pagoda is the most significant building in the history of religious architecture in Myanmar, because it was built on the basis of the stupas throughout Myanmar since then, and it also played a very important role in the development of the relationship between traditional Burmese religion and Theravada Buddhism.
Zhou Sen stands here, looks up and sees, Ruixi Palace Tower is more than 40 meters high, there is a copper pavilion on each side, and there is a beautiful standing Buddha in the pavilion.
The palace tower has a high top with various decorations, and there are countless small towers and pavilions around the tower, among which there is a hall called "37 Holy Spirits" that is very popular with tourists, and legend has it that King Anuradha placed 37 statues representing the Burmese religious spirit on the lowest level of the tower, and later these 37 statues were moved to a small hall in the southeast of the platform and named "37 Holy Spirits".
Zhou Sen really doesn't know much about this, and he is not very insider, so he can only join in the fun as a layman.
Silom Myllo Temple, also known as the "Diro Minlok Stupa", is located in Bagan, Mandalay Province, built in 1211 during the reign of King Diro Minlok, one of the last large temples built in Bagan, and is the last Burmese-style pagoda temple in Bagan.
"This building is also very distinctive, I will take you to visit, and you can also take a look at it calmly!"
There is also a small story about the construction of the Silong Minra Temple, where it is said that the king of Bagan, who built the pagoda, built his pagoda temple here because he was made the crown prince from among his five brothers.
Far away from the pagoda, you can see the 46-meter-high Silong Minra Temple, which is made of red bricks and has survived the storm.
Although the temple has been rebuilt, fortunately it has been well restored, and there are still many remnants of the original frescoes, which are still available for visitors to see, and the temple is divided into three levels, and four Buddha statues facing different directions can be seen on the first and top floors.
On the exterior of the Silong Minra Temple, you can also admire the exquisite plaster casts and sandstone decorations, and the walls can be seen faintly showing pictures of the heavenly palace painted to protect the temple from damage.
