Chapter 6: The Bloodthirsty
These words made Sean impressed with the boss of the bass.
Shrewd, insightful and ruthless.
The tavern was filled with the smell of tobacco.
Sean notices a maid walking among the soldiers with a plate, bringing them beer or retrieving empty glasses.
She looks very young and average-looking, but the slightly fat overalls can't hide her delicate figure. There were always soldiers who wanted to leave, and when she came to rub oil, she always cleverly avoided them.
That special feeling is back, a premonition of danger. Sean's gaze followed the maid and followed her into the back room.
Several guys were busy inside, and one of them said, "Sir, you can't come in!"
"I saw a maid just now, it seems to be an acquaintance I know, where has she gone?"
"You're talking about Anna? she's a part-time worker, she's off work. The man replied.
Sean walked out the back door that the guy was pointing, it was a small alley, and the light was dim.
Walking to the middle of the alley, Sean stopped, holding a pistol in his hand, the flintlock pistol that would only give him one chance, or even another.
Sean suddenly felt that he was a little reckless, it was none of his business, at least the goal of this mysterious woman was not herself, a bit of a fire.
Intuition tells Sean that this woman is hiding in the dark, waiting to give herself a fatal blow. So, Sean just stood there, neither forward nor backward.
He wanted the woman to quit on her own.
The silence was broken by the sudden appearance of a wild beaver at the top of the wall, only to scream and fall in front of Sean, with a dagger stuck in its body.
Sean silently backed away, ready to return the way he came. He still felt that life was more important than curiosity.
There is a faint fragrance floating in the air, very faint but timeless. Sean suddenly felt that the light was much dimmer, and the lights seemed to be flickering in the direction he had come from at the end of the alley.
Sean felt lightheaded, probably because he drank too much wine tonight, champagne, wine, and beer, and poured his stomach into it.
He leaned against the wall and shook his head, trying to make himself sober.
The lights seemed far away, and Sean felt that he should walk slowly. The noise from the tavern suddenly fell silent, and his eyelids were heavy.
Sean fell to the ground, unconscious.
A woman jumped off the wall, and she landed silently and lightly. Although she is still dressed as a tavern hostess, her temperament has changed greatly at this time, and she is as cold as a knife.
She approached Sean, who was lying on the ground, holding a knife in her right hand.
Sean suddenly raised his right hand, and the muzzle of the black hole was aimed at her.
The hostess was stunned.
"Your knife is not as fast as my gun. Sean said, leaning half-against the wall, his brain still dizzy, but the gun he held steadily.
"I bet you're probably dumb out. If you can't kill with one shot, my knife will definitely kill you. The hostess's voice was slightly hoarse.
"Then you try it. Sean said.
The two were silent for a while.
In the dim light, the hostess's eyes were bright, and she stared at Sean's upward face.
"Has anyone ever told you that you look a lot like a person? The hostess said.
"Listen, I have no intention of being your enemy, I just think you are dangerous, this may be a skill cultivated on the battlefield, I am not interested in whether you are a spy or not, but you will never be allowed to do bad things under my nose. Sean said.
"In fact I have done nothing, and if I had a rifle at dark to-day, I would have easily ended the life of His Excellency the Marshal. The waitress said proudly, "Or I should throw a grenade." ”
"And what are you going to the convent for, just to show off your latent skills?" asked Sean.
The hostess was silent for a moment: "Not all Inhumans are bastards. ”
"What is an Inhuman?" Sean didn't understand.
"Bloodthirsty, stupid!" the hostess said in a strange tone.
"Oh. Sean was stunned.
"Aren't you afraid? Standing in front of you is a bloodthirsty man, a witch, who will drain your blood. The hostess asked curiously.
"If you want to suck my blood, you have to wait until I die. If I'm dead, I don't care what you want to do, right?" Sean replied, "but now, we're at least equal." ”
"Are you? Are you tired and want to get some sleep?" the hostess chuckled, "you won't last long." Once you shoot, you can get a good night's sleep, for as long as you want. ”
"If you say that, I may have no choice but to shoot on my own initiative. Instead of having your throat slit after falling asleep, try your luck. I've always had good luck. Sean said calmly.
Sean's calmness and sanity surprised the hostess.
"I'm counting from 10 to 1 now, and you slowly step back, counting from 10 to 1, enough for you to retreat around the corner. Then we went our separate ways, hoping never to see each other again. Sean said.
The hostess nodded.
“10、9、8......”
The hostess slowly stepped back, her hand still tightly clasped at the knife, her body tense. When her figure disappeared around the corner, Sean got up from the ground.
His head was still dizzy, and although he had drunk too much, he suspected that the hostess had used some kind of drug, and that special fragrance was intoxicating.
Still pointing a gun at the hostess in the direction where she had disappeared, Sean slowly retreated back to the back door of the tavern with difficulty, and then he couldn't hold it anymore and fell down again.
But when he lay down, the waitress went and returned.
"Get some sleep, hehe. ”
......
I don't know how long it took, but Sean tried to open his eyes, but he couldn't.
His limbs were weak, his mind was still dizzy, sometimes lethargy, sometimes retaining a glimmer of consciousness.
It was as if he had been carried on a stretcher and walked in a huge empty building, perhaps a cave, as he heard the echo of someone walking.
"Anna, what's the matter?" a majestic and thick voice sounded.
"The wise master is above, and I have brought back a captive. Anna replied, in the hoarse voice of the hostess.
"We don't need prisoners. The thick voice, as Anna had spoken, said.
"No, Sage, if you look closely, does he look like a man?" said Anna.
After a long while, the sage burst into a burst of laughter:
"Haha, dear Anna, my good student, you have done a great job. We finally got the man's grip......"
Sean didn't hear clearly, and fell asleep again.
