Chapter 117: Dumbledore's Inquiry (Part 1)
It wasn't the first time Jon had been in the Headmaster's office, and he thought it might not be the last!
He walked up the corridor on the eighth floor of the castle, and after turning a corner, he stopped in front of a huge stone monster that was extremely ugly.
"Password?"
"Chilled lemon juice!"
"Why are you again?" muttered the stone monster, then lazily jumped to the side, the wall behind it splitting in half.
Jon walked over a spiral staircase that moved upwards on its own, and a few minutes later, he was in Albus Dumbledore's Headmaster's office.
The office was silent, except for the portraits on the walls and a few faint snoring.
Jon stepped into the circular room, which was empty, and it was clear that Headmaster Dumbledore had not yet returned.
"Jon Hart?" suddenly came a faint voice behind him.
Jon was frightened and quickly turned around.
It's a witch with long silver curls, of course, on the portrait.
"Maybe I've scared you!" the witch on the portrait giggled, "Introduce yourself, Dalyse Devonte......"
"Wait...... You're Headmaster Derwent!" Jon exclaimed.
The name Duris Devonte, who appears at least ten times in the History of Magic, is a prestigious headmistress at Hogwarts, the chief healer to St. Mungo, and the first wizard in European history to introduce charms and pharmacy into healing.
"I've been to Hufflepuff too!" Principal Daris Devonte said gently, "but that was three hundred years ago...... How are you waiting for Dumbledore, he should be back in a while......"
“...... You can go and rummage through the wooden cabinet under Dumbledore's bookshelf, I think he must have a lot of desserts hidden in there, and his bird on the perch on the inside, you can go and play with it......"
"Dessert ...... And ......" Jon shifted his gaze and took a few more steps forward...... Sure enough, he saw a magnificent, bright red phoenix standing on a tall gilded perch behind the door.
Play with a phoenix...... Jon immediately put this idea behind him, as Phoenix is classified as a 4X level of magical beasts in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is quite dangerous and requires specialized knowledge and skilled wizards to deal with.
"Stop, boy!" an arrogant voice came from the right, "It's you again...... Remember, it's quite rude to rummage through other people's things!"
The portrait shows a familiar face, Phineas Black, whom he had met a few months earlier.
"Headmaster Black......" Jon hurriedly greeted.
Looking at Jon's very polite appearance, Phineas Black's face appeared with an expression that counted you as familiar:
"Remember, grace and etiquette are essential qualities for a good wizard...... Otherwise, you will only be like Dai Lisi, who looks glamorous on the outside, but is often pointed at in private......"
"What are you talking about, Phineas?" growled the silver-curly-haired witch, who had already drawn her wand, "You mean, you've been pointing at me behind my back a lot?"
Phineas Black's face seemed to be a little afraid: "You can get me wrong, Dalyse......"
Headmaster Dalys-Derwent glared at him coldly, then winked mischievously at Jon and said, "Remember, kid...... As long as you hang your portrait in all the important wizarding institutions, you don't have to worry about others daring to secretly call you a rude crazy woman behind your back......"
Jon nodded a little awkwardly.
Fortunately, the office door was opened...... Whether it was Phineas, Dalyse, or the other onlookers, they all returned to their respective portraits at a rapid pace, pretending to be asleep.
Albus Dumbledore walked in.
......
"Looks like I'm back a little late......" Professor Dumbledore said with a smile.
"I didn't have to wait long, Professor ......"
"How's the summer going?" Dumbledore sat down in his chair, then waved his hand and conjured up a small bench for Jon.
"Not bad......
As they spoke, Fawkes flew over and flew to Dumbledore...... Cocking its beautiful head and neck, it glanced at Jon with bright dark eyes.
"I heard that you were in the same compartment as Professor Alastor Moody on the train to the school?" Dumbledore asked, as if he didn't care.
At the same time he bent down, rummaged through the wooden cabinet under the bookshelf, and took out a bag of things.
"Yes, Professor...... I, along with Astoria Greengrass, and a freshman first-year, were in the same cubicle as Professor Moody. Jon said with a solemn expression.
"Duke Honey's new product, Bloody Lollipop......" Dumbledore opened the bag and frowned, "Doesn't look good, do you want one, Jon?"
"Uh...... No!" Jon quickly shook his head at the bloody candy.
Dumbledore stuffed a piece into his mouth, and now he seemed to have a mouth full of blood when he spoke, and he looked a little hideous:
"What do you think about Alasto?"
Jon couldn't help but frown, he didn't quite understand what Dumbledore meant by this question...... Could it be that he has developed doubts about the identity of Barty Crouch Jr., and is he going to tell him Moody's true identity?
Jon pondered for a moment.
"Professor Moody, that weird-looking person!" he replied with a light breath, "But Astoria said he used to be a very good Auror, so he should be a good Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher......"
"Really?" Dumbledore smiled and blinked, "Looks like we agree on this!"
He pulled out a tissue and wiped the blood-stained sugar juice from his mouth.
Jon was a little embarrassed and didn't know how to reply......
Fortunately, Dumbledore didn't seem to have too many questions, he just asked about some of the daily lessons one after another......
After more than ten minutes, he finally gave the eviction order, "I'm sorry to disturb your rest on such a big night, Jon...... Now, you can go back to the Hufflepuff common room, after all, you still have class tomorrow morning!"
......
Jon had just walked out of Dumbledore's office.
"He's lying!" Phineas Black said impatiently, opening his eyes, "at least not exactly telling the truth......"
"Shut up, Phineas you idiot......" Dalyse-Devonte seemed to have no patience, she drew her wand, and quickly tied Phineas up with a roll of ribbon, and a sock gagged his mouth.
"Uh......h Woo...... Woo......"
Dumbledore sat quietly, oblivious to the commotion in his office...... He pondered quietly, clutching a silver rat statue in his hand.
