Chapter Twenty-Nine: Meeting David
Ivy had a dream in which she was lying in a luxurious hotel room with a large round bed that was soft and comfortable underneath. Sunlight streams through the glass of the floor-to-ceiling windows and onto the lace curtains in coupling colors.
She followed the light and looked out the window. There is a swimming pool on the terrace with shimmering green water. There seemed to be someone swimming in the pool, his head gradually protruding from the water, followed by his dripping upper body.
Wow, a beautiful man with a muscular body, wheat-colored skin, firm and full muscles, and ...... And long legs. The perfect proportions of the body reminded her of Michelangelo's David.
She felt her mouth dry and licked her lips.
Wait, if this is a dream, it's a bit of an exaggeration. She could even feel the scorching heat of the sun shining on her body.
Ivy reached out and pinched her thigh, hissing...... It hurts.
Isn't this a dream!
She jerked herself up from the bed and gasped. What is this place? How could I be here? She lifted the quilt and looked down to see her suspender nightgown.
"Ahh
"What's wrong?"
The door was slammed open, and a soaking man in black swim trunks appeared in the doorway. Ivy recognized him as the one who had just come out of the pool.
"You, you...... Who are you?" she widened her eyes and glared at the strange man.
"That's right, last night......" J crossed his hands on his hips and took two steps forward.
Before he could finish speaking, a pillow flew towards him.
Ivy has no memory of what happened last night, and her first reaction was: I'm in trouble!
"Don't come here, I've learned taekwondo, and it's easy to unload one of your arms. β
Ivy was half-crouched on the bed, like a she-beast ready to attack. Although she was terribly scared in her heart, she was still bluffing on the surface.
J reached for the pillow and tried to explain with a kind face, "Don't be afraid, I'm not a bad person. β
The man in front of him has strong muscles, is more than 1.85 meters tall by sight, and is ...... It's almost a chi-body body. Ivy was so carried away by fear that she couldn't listen to any explanation.
"You, you, are you going to rob money or lust? Help, come on, helpβ" she screamed.
J threw away the pillow and couldn't help but cover his mouth and cough twice, but he was actually hiding his uncontrollable laughter.
After a moment of chaos, the room was quiet again.
Realizing that her pleas for help were in vain, Ivy gasped, her throat was dry and painful, and her forehead was covered with sweat.
J saw the opportunity and spread out his hands to make an innocent statement, "Miss, I'll just say two points. First, last night you got so drunk that you almost got hit by a car when you ran out of the road, and it was I who was kind enough to pick you up from the street. Second, I haven't done anything to make you light, and the waitress at the hotel can testify that they changed your clothes for you. β
"Pick it up, you're rubbish!" Ivy glared at him suspiciously.
"Third, if I'm really a bad person, it's useless for you to shout even if you break your throat. This is the top floor of the hotel, and it's just you and me on the whole floor," he looked around at the closed windows, "and the windows and doors of the room are said to be bulletproof, and I guess the soundproofing should be pretty good." β
"Didn't you say just two points?"
β......β
"Where is this?"
"No. 32 Yanjiang Road, Boyue Hotel. β
"Why don't you send me home?"
"I want to, too, but you're so drunk that you can't ask for the address of your home. I can't just sit idly by and let you sleep on the streets with a girl. J said conclusively.
Is his word credible?, Ivy grimaced, trying to remember last night. There was a struggle in his mind, but the memory only stayed on the uncle who wore gold-rimmed glasses.
It turns out that people can really lose their memory when they get drunk. She confessed, and could only believe the strange man in front of her for the time being. However, being "picked up" from the street by someone you don't know is really undignified for a young girl. She kept her head down in self-deception, not wanting him to remember what she looked like.
"Where's my backpack?" asked Ivy angrily.
"On the sofa in the living room. J pouted Nunu outside the door.
Ivy wrapped herself tightly in the quilt and got out of bed in three steps, the quilt on her body dragging like a skirt under her feet.
Her head was still dizzy, and she had barely taken two steps when she stepped on the quilt and flew straight out like a mummy.
"Be careful. Owen exclaimed.
Her hands were wrapped in the quilt and she couldn't move, and her head hit a soft, bouncy spot.
"Are you alright? Owen asked, his gaze sliding downward.
As if struck by lightning, Ivy pushed him away, pointed at him angrily, and said, "I warn you to stay away from me." β
"It's really kind and not reciprocated. Owen snorted and muttered.
Ivy picked up the quilt on the floor and snatched the door out.
