027 Lost a lot

Everything is easier said than done. Liu Wenrui's original idea was that in fact, this coffee picking could be done for three or five days.

Later, I learned that there were so many processes in the future, and I extended this time to about ten days. But after all the work was done, seventeen days had passed.

Or because the processing process takes so much time, you can only finish the whole picking after the last batch of cherry coffee has been dried and bagged.

Although he also had the joy of harvesting, after looking at the output of his small harvest season, Comrade Liu was also a little panicked. I really want to hide to the side and smoke a cigarette, and think about the quiet children.

Kenya's coffee growing model is a bit wild, and the yields are not very high. However, for a coffee tree, the number of green coffee beans that can be harvested throughout the year is also about 1.2 kilograms.

Although it is now a small harvest season, it can account for one-third of the annual production. In other words, a coffee tree can harvest about 0.4 kg of green coffee beans.

On Liu Wenrui's farm, there are a total of 883 coffee trees of three generations, old, middle and young. And now the total weight is 254 kg. In other words, on average, to one tree, this yield is only 0.29 kg. That's a much below-average yield.

If the yield is lower and the quality is better, it can also be sold at a good price.

But what about Liu Wenrui's place? After he washed and graded it himself, this output was a bit miserable.

The large elephant beans, round whole beans with a particle size of more than 18 meshes, can be used on a plate to produce the yield of the entire coffee plantation.

Normally, the proportion of such elephant beans in the yield of coffee plantations is about 10%. It is a natural variation in the growth process, and other coffee berries are twins, which are solitary seedlings.

Now don't say 10%, not even a pound.

As a relatively hard-hitting AA-grade coffee bean in Kenya, it was not even filled with a bag, only 31 kilograms. The standard here is a bag of fifty kilograms, and at the time of the auction, this standard is also followed.

The rest are those AB grade, C grade and TT grade, although these can also be sold for some money, but because of the production volume, that is, AB grade can make up a standard bag.

People plant coffee trees, AA grade is the main thing, PB grade is a surprise. What about him here? The AB grade is the main hit, and the AA grade is the real surprise. As for the PB class, it is far more than a surprise, and it can be celebrated.

In other coffee gardens, there is a double harvest of quality and yield, because the climatic conditions are better this year. What about him here? This is the double decline in quality and output, and he is so sad that he can't do it.

The proceeds are well calculated, and the current record for a 50-kilogram bag of AA green coffee beans at the auction exchange is 16,500 shillings.

According to this price standard, the AA-grade green coffee beans on his side are 10,230 shillings. AB grade, a total of 33,600 shillings. The rest are all put together, that is, they can buy about 10,000 shillings.

This account, that's easy to calculate. Putting this projected income together, it's almost 53,800 shillings.

This is the output of his entire coffee plantation this time, and in the process of picking, there is also consumption.

Fifteen people, the full working day is 6 days, and one person is 800 shillings a day, which is 72,000 shillings. Of the remaining eleven days, five were for four workers, and the rest was for only three of them.

These days, because the working hours are shorter, the salary will also be reduced, on average, 350 shillings per person per day.

But this is also a lot, and when put together, it is also 14,000 shillings. After all, Comrade Lao Ma was responsible for a lot of things, and he took everyone to take the time to clean up the grass in the yard.

The total income is estimated at K53,800 and the existing expenditure is K86,000, which is a clear account. At present, after a happy harvest season, Comrade Liu lost 32,200 shillings.

That's the truth, otherwise Franklin would have run so quickly, and this would have been a money-losing deal.

If the ripe cherry coffee is not picked, it will affect the growth of new coffee berries, and there will be no yield in the next year. After picking, this kind of coffee bean is a money-losing commodity.

This is a vicious circle, which has also impacted Comrade Liu's happy little mood. Now I feel that buying this coffee garden seems to be a bit of a loss. All the money you have left has to be invested in it.

The current loss is only in terms of labor. During this time, he was also very happy to make beef stewed potatoes for everyone, although he ate this every day, these people were also very happy, and he made it even happier.

This also requires a cost, and the daily food expenses are averaged out, and the exchange for soft girl coins has to be around fifty yuan. Seventeen days, that's eight hundred and fifty pieces. Coupled with the money lost by picking and processing coffee beans, he probably lost more than 3,000 soft sister coins in this wave of operations.

It's been a good day, and it seems like a bit of a fuck. I thought that this round of harvest could give me some supplements. I thought that the final result would be like this.

When I was chatting with others before, I heard a saying: Farmers are suffering, this is relying on the sky to eat. It's not that if you work hard, you'll get what you deserve.

If it were that simple, the world would have been peacefully unified without any strife.

The weather environment can affect your yield, the market environment can affect your price, and there are some human factors in the planting process, which will affect your profitability.

Now he feels that the peasants in the world are just as bitter. It seems that the management of this coffee tree is not so troublesome, and the labor in Kenya is very cheap, but in the end, I, the coffee farmer, also lost a lot of money.

If you want to change the current situation, there is really no other way. It is to increase investment in this coffee plantation, give enough fertilizer and care, and hope to improve the quality of the next harvest season.

Franklin was so fucked up that he didn't say anything about it, and he also cheated himself by the way.

Kenya is also a big grower, but its industrial development is poor. Now the price of these fertilizers has also begun to grow wildly, and it is almost time for some crops to be topdressed.

The latest price for a bag of fertilizer is almost 2,800 shillings, which is still a very simple fertilizer, not a high-end organic fertilizer.

After the peel and pulp are restored to the soil, it is also a very good organic fertilizer. But for these coffee trees now, this fertility is not enough. In particular, there are many old and middle-aged trees in his coffee garden, and fertilizer is most needed.
