Chapter 1148.The Warmth of Compassion
Compassion Zhang Bao 2019.5.14
My dad worked for a food organization that often provided food, medical assistance, and recreation services to residents in remote areas.
Recently, I went on a daily service assignment with him. I was there as simple as pointing people in the right direction, handing out leaflets, and guiding the living. The work is very simple and boring.
It was a very hot day, and it was very sleepy and tired. Frankly, I wasn't interested in this kind of work at all, and in the end it was just perfunctory and helpless.
At this time, I saw two girls doing the same job as me, but they were smiling and happy. They walked up to the strangers and asked if they needed help, rather than waiting for someone to come to them for help. I saw an old woman staggering towards one of the girls. The girl politely talked to the old woman, then smiled and gave her a reassuring hug.
The other girl walked up to another man who had lost his teeth. The man was covered in a foul smell, looking sick, and had a rag on his body. But the girl said to the old man, "Hello, sir. Is there anything I can do to help you today?"
She kept calling the man "sir" as she spoke, and it was as if she were talking to a big man. I wondered why she was talking to a homeless man on the street in the same tone as she did to an army colonel?
Slowly, however, I began to understand. She was showing a sense of pity. She cared about the man because she wanted him to feel that he was loved and therefore that she was important. She had a lot of respect for him, and when she called him "sir," the man lifted his chin slightly, turned his entire shoulder, and his eyes shone at her. Evidently, the old man felt her kindness and kindness in those simple words, which at once overflowed his tired and wrinkled face.
I stood aside and watched, and I couldn't help but be in awe of the two girls. I have never noticed such care and love in my life. And this kind of care and love is the whole meaning and embodiment of compassion.
Caring for and loving others is not only about understanding their needs, but also about showing warm compassion and tenderness for those needs. Caring for others is about helping those in need, even when they are too afraid to bring it up because they are afraid. Seeing these two girls show their compassion so genuinely and forthrightly, I knew I could do better, too.
A little girl took her mother's hand and walked towards me. I smiled because I cared about her. I care about her needs and hopes, her grief and disappointments. I really care!
Doing that makes me feel joy and warmth, and that's the joy and warmth that can only be felt if you do the right thing. This joy and warmth keeps me going, because I can do things that affect other people. Because of this, I not only experienced this warmth and warmth, but also made this warmth and warmth continue to burn in my heart.
In life, I have spent a lot of time showing my compassion and my personality and self-worth to change. That's definitely the basic rule I'm going to follow for the rest of my life. Compassion is at the heart of this.
With this compassion, I opened each hut and let the sunlight pour in.
