Nostalgia
Nostalgia Zhang Baotong
In those affectionate and distant memories, beautiful longing and beautiful sorrow always grow poetically with a touch of nostalgia in my heart full of flowers and pines. Those thoughts and feelings are like the greenery and flowers in spring, which make me forever immersed in a spring scenery and dreams of infinite attachment.
Infinite nostalgia is always flowing like the river on the edge of the village. Vaguely, the rough and distant shouting of the captain sounded in his ears again. It is like an echo from afar, immersing people in a fairytale-like dream. That innocent and childish leisure and childlike fun seem to still be reflected on the water surface under the willows by the river.
The fields by the river are always filled with that fresh and humid rustic atmosphere. Whenever the fragrance of lilacs spreads throughout the mountains, groups of bright village girls will come here to pick the most beautiful flowers and tie their heads, and there will be bold and straightforward descendants who will come here in a group, trying their best to offer their hospitality to the girls they want. So, under the rain-washed blue sky, there are mutual love songs and playful laughter echoing in the wind.
Twilight is the beauty of the countryside. As the sun sets, the river turns red, chasing the sun from east to west. The verdant fields are full of hope for life, and they are deep green in the light of the day. At this time, it was late for the fishermen to sing, the tired birds returned to their nests, and the shepherd boys began to play piccolo and call the oxen back to the village. The hard-working peasants also greeted the smoke of the cottage and sang all the way to their homes.
When a bright moon rises over the valley, small piles of bonfires flicker in the silence of the pines. This is the ritual of parting for lovers in the countryside. Lovers in the countryside are always silent and affectionate, although there are thousands of heartfelt feelings but ashamed to express them, just silently relative, tearful eyes and smiles, in the deep wordless attachment and parting, feel pure and beautiful sorrow.
Nostalgia is a love song, a kind of dream, which makes me often can't help but immerse myself in the good old days.
Translated by Zhang Baotong
There is nothing in life that has such power as books, lifting the poor out of poverty, the less fortunate out of their misery, the burden-bearing forgetting their burdens, the sick forgetting their pain, the sad forgetting their sorrows, and the ravaged forgetting their humility. Books are the friends of the lonely, the companions of the abandoned, the joy of the depressed, the hope of the hopeless, the joy of the depressed, and the help of the helpless. It can bring light into darkness, and let sunlight illuminate darkness.
We may not be named, not tolerated by society, and have no chance of being with beautiful women and celebrities, but we can be in the midst of friendly friends in the world, or in the court, talking with princes, friends with the royal family, or with great men and heroes.
For many people, the success or failure of their fate and career is determined by reading a book. Books read in childhood have the greatest impact on people's lives.
The greatest benefit of a book is not whether we can remember its contents, but the inspiration in the book, a good book is a sparkling spark that ignites the great energy we have in ourselves, and most of us have enough energy. A good book is a friend. It evokes our full potential. It can even stimulate the writer's talent on different topics. If we are good at expressing ourselves, we will find our own thoughts and feelings in books. That's right, in the book we get to know ourselves. In Emerson's books we see some of our own thoughts, in some of Shakespeare's plays we see some of our own characteristics, in Homer's epics we see a certain expression of ourselves, in Dante's poems we see our own image, and so on, until we can clearly see our full personality. Indeed, we reflect a delightful shadow from our friends, and many of our flaws from our enemies, and we can show our characteristics everywhere in the world. But it is in books that we can calmly and objectively see our true colors, strengths, weaknesses, tolerances, limitations, opinions, hobbies, harmony and controversy, as well as our poetic and prose-like temperament.
Many of our opinions are formed from books we love. The writers we love are our sincere teachers. We use their eyes to see the world, and we expand our intellect with the stirring tone, fresh style, accurate reasoning, and keen observation of their books. On the other hand, bad books can stain our minds with the evil and filth of them. Just as we can't escape the air we breathe, we can't escape the effects of reading.
The best books inspire us the most and drive us to be physically and physically with the utmost determination to become extraordinary. The best books enable us to reach the highest level and breathe cleaner air. Just as we should associate with those who will motivate us to pursue noble causes, we should read books that will motivate and motivate us.
Emerson has three principles for reading: don't read books that have been around for less than a year, don't read books that aren't famous, and don't read books that don't like them.
Collecting books is not a luxury, but a necessity of life. There are no books and newspapers at home, such as no windows at home. If you want children to learn to read, you have to put them in books and flip through books, so that children can be imperceptibly influenced and acquire knowledge. So, in today's society, a family that doesn't have good reading materials can't be considered a good family.
Decorate the room with books, not unnecessary furniture, knick-knacks and pictures. The most nondescript thing is that in an elegant house there are expensive furniture, calligraphy and paintings of celebrities, imported tapestries, elaborate statues, expensive carpets and extravagant frescoes, but there is not a decent book.
If necessary, don't skimp on books, even if you wear tattered clothes and shoes. If you can't give your children a formal education, at least buy them more good books, which will make them transcend the environment, make them noble and elevate their minds. Even the poorest young people have the potential to get a university education, or equivalence, or a wealth of knowledge, if they have access to the books they need to read.
Mary Waterley Montagu, a British writer, said, "No entertainment is as cheap as reading, and no enjoyment lasts as long." "Good books make people noble in character and elegant in taste, free people from low-grade tastes, and make people's thoughts and lives reach a higher level. Reading a book with noble taste and touching heart, you will not have a mean heart. People who read for progress and pleasure will have a bookish smell in their words, even if they do not refer to the books they are reading.
If you want to improve your spiritual realm, no matter what you read, you must put in enthusiasm, put in energy, read it wholeheartedly, learn to absorb the nutrients and essence of the book, and melt it into your life. The person who is the most proficient in reading is able to digest the most knowledge and transform it into his own character. If you get the most out of a book, you will feel that you have an ability to do things that you have never had before.
