Chapter 355: Run

The sudden situation caused the people of the exploration team to panic.

"What's going on?" someone asked, followed by a nervous snort.

"Where's Johnny?"

"I don't know! there's something here!" the first man to run over, looking nervously into the darkness, slowly stepped back with his helmet.

Carl was also nervous, stretched out his hand, took the young Gio soldier, and slowly stepped back.

The radiation detector in his hand, the pointer on it was still shaking desperately, and Carl was already covered in cold sweat.

"Listen to me!" he said to the young man behind him in a low voice, "If you find something wrong, go back the way you came, and tell Professor Loew that this is dangerous!"

"What...... What danger ......" Little Gio seemed frightened, clutching the gun in his hand tightly with both hands, as if this was the only way to give him some sense of security.

"I don't know!" Karl stared at the darkness, a strong sense of crisis erupted in his subconscious, and he felt that something in the darkness was staring at them.

Suddenly, there was a "rustling" sound in the cave, the sound was particularly clear in the quiet cave, and the people of the exploration team were crowded together almost instantly, and the other two soldiers picked up the guns in their hands, opened the safe, and aimed outside.

However, they had no idea where the sound was coming from, and could only keep looking around with the limited light.

Karl slowly stepped back, he protected little Gio behind him, and slowly retreated to the place where they had come in before stopping.

The rustling continued, and the two soldiers took a few steps forward, "Who's there!" shouted one man.

No one answered, and it seemed that there shouldn't be anyone else here, but they didn't seem to think it was anything other than people.

There was no movement ahead, the two of them continued to move forward, their guns raised, and as they left the exploration team behind them, they slowly left the area of their headlights, and only the light of the two of them could be seen in front of them.

"Nothing!" said one of them, visibly timid.

"Look again!" the other man felt that he should move on, and his companion had to accompany him.

There was a protruding rock in front of them, and if they continued forward, they would have to separate and go around on both sides.

But as soon as the two separated, the soldier leaning on the inside snorted, and the gun fell to the ground with a crisp sound.

The other man immediately raised his gun and looked over, and his headlamp shone on his companion, who looked at him with a very bad face and despair in his eyes, and then suddenly disappeared from his sight and disappeared.

The companion looked back and forth in a panic, searching, a black shadow flashed, and when he turned back, there was no one around.

The soldier gasped for breath, his fear coming from the unknown danger, and he turned around and ran back, "Get out of here!"

His shout made the exploration team panic, and they couldn't care about the equipment or anything, and ran out desperately.

Seeing this, Carl, who was standing at the entrance here, turned his head and pushed little Gio, "Run!"

The two of them were one step faster than the others, and quickly ran out of here, but the others, as if they had forgotten where they had entered, crashed into the rocks, were trampled on, and their helmets were knocked off, and they fell into the underground river next to them.

His teammates ran away, leaving him alone in the dark.

"Mother, please bless me!" he kept talking, groping his way on the ground and crawling forward.

But in the darkness, it was difficult for him to find the right direction.

The helmet that fell into the underground river, the headlamp did not go out, emitting a faint light at the bottom of the water.

Suddenly, there was a slight sound of water, and he looked back and forth, left and right, but could not see anything.

The light flickered underwater, causing him to step back in fear and look at the underground river.

"Whoa!" a huge black shadow emerged from the water, getting higher and higher.

In the darkness, he felt someone or something approaching him, and he desperately swallowed his saliva to relieve his tension, and suddenly, his nose was cold.

He was startled, trembling and holding out a hand, and right in front of him, he touched something cold and slippery.

The people who ran out panicked, and a scream from behind them made them even more panicked, and they didn't even know if the hole they had entered was the way they came.

Everyone was running for their lives, they didn't know what was behind them that was devouring life, and they had only one thought in their minds - to get out of here.

Carl was also frightened, but because he had been warned by Professor Loew before, he had already prepared in his heart, and he was not going fast with little Gio, and every time he reached a fork in the road, he stopped to look at the map recorded in his notebook, and then chose a path, and continued to run out with little Gio.

However, this did not seem to keep the danger away, and the screams from other places made the complex and dark cave even more terrifying, and being in it was like being in the mouth of a huge monster.

Carl's stamina was quickly depleted, and in the end, he was almost dragged away by little Gio.

Everyone was separated, and there were at least a few hours to go.

Carl and Gio arrive at a place where they had rested when they came in, and Carl is resting in front of a rock wall.

He felt like he was about to suffocate, and he was desperately breathing with his mouth open, and the dryness of his throat from the tension made him want to vomit.

Little Gio took out the water that Carl had given him earlier, put it to Carl's mouth and fed it a few bites.

"Little Gio!" Karl gasped and said weakly, "I really can't walk, you take this!" he shoved the notebook into Little Gio's hand, "go out and tell everyone what's going on here, so they don't come in again!"

"Dr. Karl!" little Gio burst into tears, he had never experienced such a situation before he was twenty years old, and he subconsciously felt that it was safest to follow Carl.

Not only did he save himself, but he also returned with him from the right path, and he couldn't have left him alone to run for his life.

"Dr. Karl, we'll be out soon, hold on a little longer, I can carry you on my back!" said little Gio, who pulled off his heavy gear.

"Little Gio!" Karl grabbed his hand to stop him, "Listen to me!" Karl said with great difficulty, "We people, one of us must go out and tell everyone what is going on here!

"I don't want to leave you!" little Gio really couldn't help it, and after crying and saying this, he continued to untie the things on his body.

"Ahh

Another scream came, very close, and Carl pushed little Gio, "Hurry up!"

Little Gio was pushed to the ground by him, crying incessantly, almost crawling back on his knees, "Professor Karl, I can't leave you!"

"Soldier, you follow orders! The news here is important! You have to tell them that there are dangerous, dangerous unknown creatures here! Get out!" Karl relented, pushing little Gio out again.

Little Gio cried with tears and snot, shook his head, looked at Carl with a painful face, and under Carl's repeated urging, he left crying with Carl's notebook.

Carl was the only one left, leaning against the rock wall and moving to make himself sit more comfortably.

In the silence, the sounds around me became clearer.

After giving up his life completely, Carl only felt his muscles tremble, the after-effects of nervous fatigue, which made him unable to stand up.

Minutes and seconds passed, and the sound of little Gio's footsteps had completely disappeared.

Carl thought back to his family, it seemed that he hadn't contacted them for a long time, the water pipe in his mother's house was broken and he hadn't had time to fix it, there was no one in his house, and the goldfish in the goldfish bowl should be fine!

He took a cigar out of his pocket, put it in his mouth, bit off the gag, and shoved it in a different direction.

I fumbled in my pocket for a while before I found a lighter in one pocket.

Carl took a breath, slowed his trembling hands, and lit the lighter to light the cigar.

However, he suddenly stopped, and then stretched out the lighter in front of him, reflecting a body with the flashing headlight above his head, which had begun to run out of power.

This body, covered with scales the size of a sink, shimmered with strange points of light in the faint light.

Carl slowly lifted his head, and a huge snake appeared in front of him.

"Hell!" Karl muttered, and then the serpent opened its jaw and lunged at him.

Here, back into darkness.

Little Gio was in great pain, and he cried as he ran out following the route marked in Carl's notebook.

His physical strength was also enormous, and he saw that there was still one last distance to reach the mine, and his legs were struggling to move forward as if they were filled with lead.

Out of the cave, little Gio really returned to the mine, a hundred meters ahead, there was a small bright spot, there was the entrance to the cave.

Little Gio sat down on the floor, pouring what little water was left down his dry throat, he solemnly put Carl's notebook in his arms, buttoned up his clothes, and then slowly moved his feet out against the wall.

He could already hear the sounds of people coming in from outside, and the smell of cooking.

Little Gio was getting closer and closer to the entrance of the cave, and he could almost hear someone outside talking loudly, "How long will it take for them to come out?"

With a long-lost smile on his face, he finally escaped.

Professor Loew was very worried, and the uneasiness became more and more apparent.

General Willis even came to lecture him, "Professor, I warn you, if you spread such panic again, I will report to the higher authorities immediately and ask them to send someone else!"

Loew was speechless about Willis, these idiots who only knew how to fight, and it would be a waste of saliva to say anything more to them.

Looking at Professor Loew, who turned away from him, Willis narrowed his eyes in dissatisfaction, and his three soldiers also entered, although no news came back, he would not put his worry on his face.

"Research madman!" Willis cursed in a low voice and turned back.

Professor Loew walked alone to the entrance of the cave and stood there watching.

Professor Loew has been engaged in energy research all his life, and he has traveled to many places, where the conditions are harsher and the environment is harsh, but not once has he had such anxiety and worry as he does now.

Why are you uneasy?

Even he himself couldn't tell.

Suddenly, a faint voice came from the cave, "Help......"

Professor Loew, believing that he had misheard, took two more steps forward, stood at the entrance of the cave, and squinted his eyes to look inside.

He seemed to see a figure beckoning to him, "Who is it?" he asked in a loud voice.

"Professor......" was another faint shout.

Loew became agitated, turned his head and shouted, "They're out!

Professor Love's shouts alarmed some people not far away, and they all ran over.

"Professor Love, what's going on?"

"General, they're out, and I hear someone talking!" Loew said excitedly.

Willis raised his hand and motioned for the people around him to be quiet, pricking up his ears to listen carefully.

"General......" someone is really shouting.

"Let's go in and see!" Willis immediately let a few of the soldiers around him in.

Several people hurriedly ran to the tent next to it, got flashlights, and entered the mine.

Little Gio saw someone running towards him from a distance, a smile appeared on his face, his eyes gradually blurred, and he fell to the ground and fainted.
