800 Readers' Revolt (4)
"Not dead, not dead!"
"Great, the Theking thief has finally found out on his conscience!"
"Sure enough, it's okay, let the professor die alone, Sherlock Holmes can live forever!"
"It turns out that this is just a foreshadowing of Mr. Theking, why didn't you say it earlier, leave such a big suspense, and wait until the reader riots to come out to explain, eh, forget it, anyway, as long as Holmes is fine, the rest is easy to say. Sherlock Holmes is sure to resurrect, and the reader becomes surprisingly talkative!
Luoyang's Twitter comments have quietly changed with this announcement, and the turmoil has basically stopped by now, and the demonstrations in Britain that have lasted for several days have disappeared.
Many people can breathe a sigh of relief.
However, this incident is destined to leave an indelible mark in the hearts of many readers.
With his own efforts to make readers all over the world riot, it is probably a Theking, and in the end, even the Queen of England stood up from Buckingham Palace to cry out for Sherlock Holmes, such a record is remarkable, and Theking's prestige in the world literary world has bloomed in a unique way-
Of course, there are also readers who are reluctant to expose this matter.
These readers are not so foolish, they firmly believe that the old thief Theking is indeed thinking of killing Sherlock Holmes, and tweets to readers that Sherlock Holmes is not actually dead, but is only under pressure from rioting readers, after all, God knows what will turn into if the march continues.
"This is a malicious hype created by Theking!"
"Please don't treat our Holmes in a similar way!"
This part of the audience made comments such as the above, they thought it was a hype, a hype orchestrated by Theking in order to make Holmes famous, but unfortunately, there was not much market for similar remarks.
One of the reasons is because the popularity of "Sherlock Holmes" does not need any hype at all!
And Theking has publicly stated that Sherlock Holmes will not die, so everyone is more concerned about how Sherlock Holmes will return, and readers have made fancy speculations about this, and the arguments they give are similar and hot, completely devoid of the grief caused by the death of Sherlock Holmes before.
Of course, there are not many serious readers, to be exact:
"The old thief has not cleared his suspicion, he said that Holmes is not dead, maybe it is just the pressure of the reader's resistance, if his next work does not do a good job of the pit of "The Last Case", then it proves that he did have the idea of killing Holmes!"
These readers are waiting for Theking's new book to come out.
Fortunately, Luoyang had long anticipated the reader's reaction, and sitting in front of the computer, he began to create "Empty House".
[In the spring of 1894, the murder of the venerable Ronald Adel under the most unusual and inexplicable circumstances attracted the attention of all London and alarmed high society.
The details of the case released during the police investigation are known, but many details have been deleted. This is because the grounds for prosecution are so strong that it is not necessary to disclose all the evidence. It's only now, nearly a decade later, that I'm allowed to fill in some of the shortfalls in the process of solving the case, and the case itself is intriguing, but compared to the unexpected ending, this little bit of fun is nothing in my opinion......]
The first series of the masterpiece "Sherlock Holmes" is a history of adventure, the second series is a memoir, and the third series is the return!
This "Empty House" is the first part of the third series of "Sherlock Holmes Detective Collection", Conan Doyle decided to stop writing detective novels in 1894, and "The Last Case" let Sherlock Holmes die in the torrent, but the majority of readers were very indignant about this, marched and demonstrated, and protested, Conan Doyle had to let Sherlock Holmes escape death in "The Empty House".
It stands to reason that this kind of succumbing to the reader and forcibly resurrecting the protagonist should be far-fetched.
But Conan Doyle's prowess is on full display in this short story, and he perfectly explains the reason why Sherlock Holmes came back from the dead.
At the beginning of "The Empty House", a murder case makes Watson feel the importance of Sherlock Holmes to the detective world, and on the way back to his home from the scene, Watson misses Holmes even more, but accidentally meets an elderly gentleman who collects books.
The old gentleman followed Watson back to the villa.
After a dramatic dialogue, Watson discovers that the old gentleman is Sherlock Holmes with makeup.
It turned out that Holmes was not dead at that time, because he was worried that Professor Moriarty's henchmen would implicate innocent people, so he hid and made the illusion of death to confuse his opponents.
In that case, Moriarty's Colonel Sebastian Moran, who shot someone from outside the room, and Holmes used a wax figure who looked exactly like himself as bait to capture him. Thus ending his exile and returning to 221 Baker Street!
This "Empty House" thus becomes a significant piece of the Sherlock Holmes series.
Back then, the dramatic return of Sherlock Holmes also touched countless readers around the world who supported Sherlock!
And when Luoyang wrote this plot, he couldn't help but feel a lot of emotion in his heart, without the death of Sherlock Holmes in "The Last Case", how could he come from the wonderful situation of the return of "Sherlock Holmes" series, he is not a Theking thief, nor is he a poisoning master, but he just planned a fake death test for the plot......
Well, it's a bad taste.
Luoyang got his wish and saw the reader's fuss about the death of Sherlock Holmes.
In fact, when Conan Doyle himself talked about the resurrection of Sherlock Holmes in "The Empty House", he was also glad to sigh: "Fortunately, Watson was not allowed to find the body of Sherlock Holmes in the first place......"
If Watson had found Sherlock Holmes' body in "The Last Case", there would have been no later series of equally amazing Sherlock Holmes series, but this emotion can also be seen that Conan Doyle himself was reluctant to let Holmes leave, and he wrote "The Last Case" deliberately left a blank space, which may have left a back road for himself, and it just so happened that this back road was used in "The Empty House".
This arrangement, whether intentional or unintentional, is inevitably tainted with the color of legend.
