Chapter 40: The Wind Rondo
After hearing Andre's report, Captain Conrad's heart skipped a half-beat, but he quickly calmed down.
"Have all the members of the team searching nearby returned?"
The goggles-wearing team members wiped away the rain and identified their teammates, and after a few seconds they sensed that something was wrong, the special team was originally a group of ten people, and now there were nine left.
"Captain, Kim seems to be gone!" replied one of the team members, and several other flashlights shot out pillars of light that pierced through the night, shaking around to find the trail of their target.
"All stay put!" Conrad gave an urgent order, he had thought that Andre's shot from an intruder would incapacitate him, and all they had to do was to capture the injured intruder and take him away, but now it seemed that their idea was a little naΓ―ve, and the prey was more cunning than expected.
The remaining eight members of the team immediately gathered around Conrad and went on the defensive, their eyes under the goggles scanning every corner as far as the eye could see, eight majestic Damascus sabers searching for their enemies in the darkness.
"Captain, there's a situation, look there!" One of the team members alertly noticed an anomaly under the big banyan tree next to the building, and immediately reported it.
Following the direction the team member pointed, a white corner of the root of the stout banyan tree was exposed, covered in mud from the blow of the wind and rain.
Could it be that the target is hiding there? You can't rush out to prevent a sneak attack, Conrad made a decisive judgment.
"Everyone listen!" Although Conrad's voice could barely drown out the sound of the rain, with years of tacit understanding, the team members could still accurately understand what the captain meant, "To ensure safety, surround the team from three directions!"
"I repeat, stay vigilant, the prey is extremely dangerous!"
Conrad made an offensive gesture to his teammates, and everyone turned the communicator to silent mode, a sign of trust in their teammates and the tacit understanding that they had worked together over the years, and that any one of them could leave their backs to their teammates without reservation.
The jet vent of the jet device shot out a white wake, and the steel cable burst out of the backpack behind them, nailing it firmly to the wall, and the nine figures flew resolutely into the rain.
The dense electric current swam in the dark clouds, and the heavy rain had no intention of stopping, and the wind tore off the young leaves of the big banyan tree and threw them on the tactical goggles of the special squad members.
As the team approached their target quickly, the slumped figure in the shadow of the tree became clearer in the dim light nearby, and he leaned motionless against the tree, as if ready to be captured.
"It's Kim! How is he dressed as an intruder!" The special operators who arrived first cautiously approached the man in white until he could fully see the familiar face.
The three of them hurriedly put away the sabers in their hands, stepped through the muddy water and ran to Kim's side.
"How is he!"
"Thankfully, he's still alive, just knocked unconscious. β
The sound of the rope retrieving sounded, and the boots smashed into the mud, splashing mud, and Conrad's team arrived at the scene at the same time as another group.
"Captain, Kim was knocked unconscious and his clothes were changed. The members of the special operations team made a brief report.
Conrad put away his weapon and opened Kim's eyes to check his pupils, and then he let out a sigh of relief, his brother who had been with him all day and night was not in danger of life, but only unconscious.
Conrad then flipped open the sleeve of his white tuxedo blouse, where red blood soaked almost the entire sleeve.
"It's not Kim's blood," Conrad didn't find any wounds on the unconscious Kim, "it must be an intruder, he must not have gone far, leaving so much blood and exercising violently, even a cow can't support it." β
"Kree, you stay and take care of Kim!" Conrad looked at the jet device that had been thrown aside, and knew it was definitely Kim's without looking at the number, "Although the target is the Adept, it is impossible to escape from the palm of my hand without auxiliary equipment in case of injury." β
"Yes, Captain!"
Conrad stood up, the cold rain turning him into an iron man, his eyes drawn to the fading trail of footprints at the edge of the lawn, the rain mixed with a pale red.
"Everyone, follow this road! Keep the communicator open!" Conrad commanded the team as he faced a dimly lit path.
"Yes!" the team members said in a sonorous voice, and it seemed to them that the injured target was already a lamb to the slaughter, and it was only a matter of time before they caught him.
Andre's scope shifted its perspective once more, and the figure of the special team gradually sped towards the eastern edge of the B-department teaching area, and disappeared into the rain.
The galloping carriage makes its final sprint towards its destination, and after passing through several intersections the horses will arrive with their masters, and although the rain and wind disturb their vision, their speed is still undiminished, and the noble breed is not only reflected in appearance, but also in speed and endurance.
Suddenly, a black shadow suddenly appeared on the way forward of the carriage out of nowhere.
The shrill neighing of horses sounded, and the speed of the carriage suddenly decreased, startling both Jonathan Johnson, who was driving, and Max and Al, who were sitting in the back.
"What's going on!" Jonathan angrily dropped the reins of his horse and poked his head out of the window to see what was going on ahead.
I saw a man in a black combat uniform staying not far ahead, maybe he was also startled by the sudden carriage, and after a short pause, the man disappeared from his sight as if flying close to the ground,
Jonathan rubbed his eyes vigorously to make sure he was not mistaken, the man was indeed flying, and he was flying at a low altitude, and to his surprise the white strip of cloth tied around the man's arm, he was impressed by the strip of white cloth tied around the man's arm, because it was the only bright color in the night.
"Young master, it seems to be someone from the special squad! Jonathan said to Max in the carriage behind him.
"Special Squad, is it alone?" Max asked, "Don't see the other team members?"
"It's a person, and it seems that the equipment department has developed new equipment, and I saw that the person was flying close to the ground, and it was very fast. β
"No jet launchers?!" Max stood up sharply.
"What's that?" Jonathan had only been lucky enough to see the combat uniforms of the Special Squad when he was enrolled with Max, and as for their equipment, he didn't know as an outsider.
Al frowned and listened to the conversation between the two, although he didn't know exactly what the "special squad" and "new equipment" in the two mouths were, but from Max's tone, he vaguely felt that this academy test was not so simple.
"Al, stay in the carriage with Jonathan and don't run around, I still have questions for you, wait for me to come back. Max removed the cross from his neck, pushed open the door, and rushed out.
The silver cross glowed faintly like a star falling from the Milky Way, and was mercilessly swallowed up by the night immediately after the man just now.
"Master, where should we wait for you, Master!" said Jonathan, who watched Max's back disappear into the distance, and with a helpless expression, he wiped the rain that had fallen on the Garcia family crest.
"Mr. Al, then weβ" Jonathan turned, and the carriage was already empty, with no one in sight.
"Mr. Al, Mr. Al!" Jonathan looked out the window in a panic, and another figure disappeared into the stormy night.
Blood was running against Newcastle's skin, and it was hot, especially on such a rainy night when the temperature plummeted.
Although Newcastle had tied the major arteries with strips of cloth torn from his gown to prevent excessive bleeding, half of his arm had slowly lost sensation, half numb, half severe pain, and blood continued to slide through the holes between his fingers in his black suit before being thrown into the wind behind him.
Yes, at this moment Newcastle is moving at full speed, heading due south of the B-Department teaching area, as for the footprints left for the special team before, he just used it to confuse the group, after all, he didn't want to taste the taste of bullets a second time.
The cyclone beneath his feet was carrying him through the buildings, flying low, but still fast.
"I've got to go to the beach for a vacation after I've completed the mission, and I'll be in a hurry if anyone wants to assign me a task again!" Newcasy pressed his injured arm tightly, his face a little pale from the long bleeding.
"What kind of taste are the people in the armed forces, and they are embarrassed to wear such ugly clothes, so they have to change before dawn. "Even the critical moment does not prevent Newcastle from complaining about the academy.
There was a change in the wind pressure ahead, as if something behemoth was about to fall, and the keen perception of the change in air flow by the ability "Wind Domain" made Newcastle realize the danger for the first time, and the wind whirlwind pushed back, canceling out the kinetic energy of the advance.
With a "boom", the stone floor cracked and shattered, the stones flew with muddy water, and a huge cross two meters high fell from mid-air, the quaint lines emitted a faint fluorescence, and it was stuck diagonally on the ground just to block Newcastle's escape route.
"First place in the B department, Mr. Newcastle the Adept, you seem to have been in such a hurry that you forgot to put the things in the house back where they belonged. β
"You're so ghostly, everywhere. β
Newcastle looked behind him, and a young man in the alley with a faint golden light came out, his face covered with a white hood embroidered with gold trim, and the rain evaporated into a gaseous state before it touched his body, so like Newcastle, he was not wet by the rain.
"You're from the Holy Church?" Newcasie's eyes narrowed, the golden cross painted on the visitor's clothes reminded him of the organization, "and a student of the Imperial Military Academy." β
"Max Garcia, my name. You're right, I'm a student, but I obey the church," Max raised his head to meet Newcastle's gaze, "And what about you, and which organization do you belong to?"
"You're like the kid with the knife, you have too many problems," Newcasi smiled bitterly, "I didn't see that I was still injured, and I'll tell you when I'm healed." β
"You're talking about Li Shiyi?!" Max stepped forward, "What did you do to him?"
"He's fine," Newcasi replied casually, "I don't have time to fool around with you, so I'm gone." β
