Chapter Ninety-Nine: The Principal's Office (1st Shift)
"Chilled lemon juice!"
As Jon gave the command, the large, ugly stone statue slouched to the side and got out of the way.
Jon took a deep breath and calmed himself...... It was his first visit to the principal's office.
After passing through a spiral staircase at the back, the sphin-shaped knocker on the door opens to reveal a large circular room.
The walls were covered with portraits of old headmasters, most of them with their eyes closed and pretending to be asleep, but Jon felt that many of them were actually secretly looking at him.
"Good afternoon!" Albus Dumbledore looked up, his pale blue eyes winking at Jon slightly.
"Good afternoon, Professor......" Jon stepped forward.
He had no choice, and because of what he had previously written in his whistleblower letter to Lady Amelia Bones, he now had to tell Dumbledore about Siris-Black.
"Professor, I have something important!" Jon mustered up the courage to make his tone as fearful and panicked as he could, "Cialis Black! I saw him with a telescope a few hours ago, and he was right next to that beating willow on the shores of Lake Hogsmeade......"
Dumbledore held out a finger and stopped Jon from continuing.
"Jon, maybe you need to calm down and listen to me!" Dumbledore said gently, still chewing on a string of cockroaches in his mouth, "Do you want some, it tastes good!"
Without saying a word, Dumbledore threw the string over.
It may seem disgusting, but it's actually made of chocolate, with a lot of sugar added to it, and it tastes sweet and even a little greasy...... However, this ruled out the possibility that the Truth Elixir would not work when taken with sugar.
"It's too sweet!" he whispered.
"No, I think it's just right!" Dumbledore retorted, shoving the last string into his mouth.
Then, Dumbledore glanced at a portrait on the wall and said, "From what I've gotten so far, Siris-Black isn't necessarily as brutal and vicious as the Ministry of Magic says!"
Jon tried to put on a surprised expression.
"I've got some special information, Jon!" Dumbledore said calmly, "For example, I was on Privet Road, and there was an informant who informed me that Siris Black had appeared on Privet Road one day at the end of July last year, and it just so happened that young Harry had left his aunt's house because of an accident that day, and he also appeared on the way. ”
"I was a little panicked!" Dumbledore paused and continued, "I quickly contacted Kingsley and asked him to send a knight bus to take Harry to safety...... However, to my surprise, Harry waited for the arrival of the knight's bus unharmed, and Blake did not appear in front of him at all. ”
"Does that prove his innocence?" Jon whispered, "in case he didn't touch ......"
"That's enough to make me suspicious!" Dumbledore nodded, and continued, "In recent years, I think I've been pretty accurate in seeing people, and I don't think Blake is the kind of person who is crazy...... And ......"
"That's right, I can prove it!" Jon was startled by a scream from the wall, "My great-grandson is a bastard who betrays his family and bloodline...... But there is absolutely no way he will betray his friends and kill innocents!"
The portrait that spoke was a middle-aged wizard with curly hair and a balding middle-aged man, his expression looking very excited.
"Calm down, Phineas!"
As Dumbledore spoke, a wizard next to him, pretending to be asleep, hurriedly ran over and took out his wand, controlling Phineas Black and preventing him from making noise.
"That's why I hired a friend from Black's youth, Remus Lupin, to teach at Hogwarts!" Dumbledore said with a smile, "It was quite a difficult process to convince Minerva, Firius, and Severus that they would agree to have a werewolf as their colleague!"
"Werewolf?" Jon quickly raised his voice.
"I think Severus has given you enough hints that you won't be able to guess who Remus really is......" Dumbledore glanced meaningfully at Jon.
"Yes, Professor......" Jon quickly lowered his head, "It's just that I haven't thought in the worst direction!"
"Let's go, let's go!" Dumbledore suggested, "I might need you to do me a favor!"
"Where are we going?"
"Hagrid's Cabin!"
......
Jon had just walked out of the office when he suddenly felt Dumbledore gently tat him on the shoulder.
Then, a cold feeling spread all over the body in an instant.
Jon lowered his head, and suddenly found that his body and arms had all become illusory, as if he had become one with the environment.
"Illusion Charm!" Dumbledore explained with a smile, "We can make our spell invisible to others, and our mission for this trip is more secret!"
Following Dumbledore out of the castle, Jon passed by many acquaintances, and no one noticed his traces, and the illusion spell cast by Dumbledore was obviously not easily recognized.
They walked through the greenhouse, past the shores of Lake Hogsmeade, and finally around the Beater Willows...... Eventually, they came to the back door of Hagrid's hut, behind an oak tree with a thick trunk.
The Hippogriff, Buckbeak, was locked in a pumpkin patch in front of them.
Jon couldn't help but frown, if memory serves, this is where Harry and Hermione were hiding after using the time turner.
He glanced at his invisible body, protected by the illusion charm, and probably wouldn't notice him even if Harry and Hermione had come.
"Looks like Hagrid already has a guest!" Dumbledore muttered to himself.
Jon pricked up his ears and heard the conversation coming from inside the cabin...... Familiar, Hermione, Harry, and Ron's voices.
"It's Harry and his friends!" Dumbledore frowned, as if thinking about something.
"Connelly, go this way!" a very familiar voice came from a distance.
Jon's face changed and he looked into the distance...... Minister of Magic Fudge in a painted plaid cloak, McNeill, an executioner with a large axe, and two Witnesses of the Ministry...... And、Another Albus Dumbledore!
Five men, walking slowly towards Hagrid's hut.
Jon glanced at the Dumbledore in the distance with some horror, and then at the one in front of him.
"What's going on...... Professor......" he asked with a shudder.
