Chapter 313: Minister Bones (Asking for a Monthly Pass)

The Leaky Cauldron Bar at the end of June was not much different from usual.

At least for Mr. Tom Abbot Sr.

Except a week ago, a few Ministry of Magic staff members came over and posted a notice on the door of the Leaky Cauldron:

"The adversary whose name he can't even mention is back!"

There is a bunch of content at the bottom, to the effect that at least fifty witnesses were in the Department of Mysteries of the Ministry of Magic, witnessing the return of the mysterious man...... The Ministry of Magic has issued a warning to all wizards to be wary of dark wizards and their attacks in the near future......

In addition to this, Old Tom received a large stack of purple pamphlets with the bold text printed on them:

"Authorized by the Ministry of Magic - Protect Your Home and Family from the Dark Arts!"

Whenever a new traveler comes to the Leaky Cauldron, Tom needs to hand him a copy of this booklet.

......

All this caused a great deal of panic at first, and the witches and wizards who had stayed in the Leaky Cauldron Bar hurried to old Tom to check out, and then fled London in a panic...... Diagon Alley also fell into a brief "depression" of a few days

Mr. Abbott Sr. also once shut down the bar and took his granddaughter back to his hometown to spend his old age......

But a week later, things were calm again......

In the Daily Prophet, you can see "exciting" news every day -

From the earliest "Wizengamot sentenced Lucius Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange, and twelve other Death Eaters to life imprisonment......

...... to "The Aurors successfully captured the Death Eater, Rabastan-Lestrange, and Evan Rozier......

...... and "The Aurors have spotted the Mystic in a small Muggle village in southwest Merseyside, and the Mystic is supposed to be fleeing in the direction of Scotland......"

There were no dark wizards, no attacks, not even a single injured Muggle, a Death Eater or two arrested every day, Mysteries being driven around England by the Aurors, and everything seemed the opposite of the horrors of Mysteries a decade or so ago.

When the wizards realized that their safety was assured, they returned to Diagon Alley......

The business of the Leaky Cauldron Bar is also booming, and the old Tom has also dismissed the idea of returning to his hometown to spend his old age in peace, and he plans to save some dowry for his granddaughter while he is still young.

As for the purple pamphlets, out of a commitment to the Ministry of Magic, Old Tom still distributed them to every traveler who passed by.

Generally speaking, though, a few minutes after it has been sent to a traveler, it can be seen in the trash can at the entrance of Diagon Alley.

......

I heard a "bang" again.

A middle-aged witch with a scarf casually threw the purple booklet, the anti-dark magic guide provided by the Ministry of Magic, into the trash can at the entrance of Diagon Alley before stepping into Diagon Alley.

In addition to the newly thrown one, there are already seven or eight brand new ones lying in the trash can......

There is also a crumpled copy of the Daily Prophet.

You can vaguely see the content of the headline in the newspaper:

"Cornelius Fudge has announced his resignation as Minister of Magic. ”

"Over the past week, our former minister, Mr. Cornelius Fudge, has faced a great deal of opposition and questioning...... After locking himself up in the minister's office for almost a week, Mr. Fudge submitted his resignation to the Legal Enforcement Division at 9 p.m. yesterday.

It is reported that Fudge has sent 200 owls to deliver messages to Albus Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts, over the past week, but in the end, Professor Dumbledore seems to have ignored Mr. Fudge's pleas.

When interviewed by this newspaper and asked how he felt about this incident...... Mr. Connelly-Fudge said with a bitter face, 'It's the first time I've seen you so united in all my years in office. ’”

......

The same front page of the Daily Prophet, followed by the previous one, was a photo...... The photograph shows a stern witch with a wide build, a square chin, short gray hair, and a pair of monocles.

"Lady Amelia Bones has announced that she will take up the post of Minister of Magic. ”

"Lady Amelia Bones, former Director of the Department of Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic, will replace Cornelius Fudge as Minister of Magic, an appointment that has been widely and warmly welcomed by the wizarding community......

Mrs. Bones' father, mother, and brother, all of whom died at the hands of Mysteries and Death Eaters during the First Wizarding War, will undoubtedly be a sword against the Dark Arts......

In her speech last night, Mrs. Bones mentioned that the Ministry of Magic had taken some new tough measures to ensure that Death Eaters stayed away from normal gathering areas for wizards.

In addition, Rufus Scrimgeur, the former head of the Auror Office, will succeed Lady Amelia Bones as Director of the Law Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Magic, and Devin Robaz, an Auror who excelled in the First World War in the Department of Mysteries, will become the Director of the Auror Office. ”

......

The rest of the news in the newspaper is basically covered by garbage, and some of them are not clear.

Except for a small corner of the third edition, a picture of a toad-like witch can be vaguely seen.

"Lady Dolores-Umbridge has been relieved of her position as Senior Deputy Minister for Magic and Senior Inquisitor at Hogwarts. ”

"Minister Bones' first appointment was the dismissal of Dolores Umbridge, the former Senior Deputy Minister for Magic, from all positions at the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts.

But Ms. Umbridge declined to be interviewed by this newspaper...... According to the grapevine, she is undergoing psychological physiotherapy at St. Mungo's Hospital. ”

......

Old Mr. Tom Abbott walked over slowly, waved his wand at the trash can, and cleaned up all the books, newspapers, and other rubbish inside.

At the same time, he carefully moved the trash can to its rightful place...... Open Diagon Alley where the brick is on the lower right side.

"I don't know which trickster did it...... "Isn't it fun to keep people out of Diagon Alley?"

With all that done, he began to return to the bar, for he heard someone calling out to him.

is a wizard in black robes with a hood on his head that looks like a living crow.

"Would you like a drink, or stay at the hotel?" asked old Tom lazily.

"Stay. The black-robed wizard's voice sounded young.

"Five sicos a night, or nine sicos if you need to provide three meals...... By the way, you've got to get this, it's free!"

As he spoke, Old Tom took out a purple booklet, the anti-dark magic guide provided by the Ministry of Magic, and threw it to the black-robed wizard in front of him.
