Chapter 194: Leviathan (3rd Update)
On 1 January 1995, Sweden, Finland and Austria formally joined the European Union, expanding the number of EU member states to 15.
In March 1995, the Schengen Agreement entered into force, which eliminated border crossing restrictions and made it borderless between EU member states.
In a sense, Jon Hart was one of the first British residents to get a taste of the benefits of European integration.
Without a visa or any other formalities, he bought a ticket from London to Stockholm and arrived in Sweden in no time.
There is no problem with the language, after all, English is the official language of the international designation...... In the Nordic region, where the level of education is high, most people can easily communicate with Jon.
Rushing from Stockholm to Grums, Jon didn't spend much effort either.
He then quickly found Lake Venaen, as Grindelwald remembered.
......
It's the end of June and the temperature here is around 15°C......
So the waters of Lake Wiener did not solidify into ice, as Grindelwald remembers.
You can't get into Durmstrang by falling off the ice, as Grindelwald remembers...... So now the question is, how to get to Durmstrang in the summer?
Jon walked around the lake for a long time like a fool, and then simply sat on the beach and looked around.
After about half an hour, Jon finally couldn't see the group.
A couple of boys who looked to be a year or two older than him were discussing something as they hurried this way.
One by one, they were all wearing dark red fur cloaks...... There was no doubt that Jon could recognize the style, the same style as Victor Krum and his classmates.
So, nine times out of ten, they are Durmstrang students.
The boys didn't notice Jon, presumably thinking Jon was a Muggle.
They frolicked as they walked to the lake, then took off their fur cloaks, wrapped them around their waists, and jumped into the lake one by one.
"Could it be that the best way to get to Durmstrang in the summer is to swim there?" Jon thought to himself.
I can't swim, but I ......
Jon quickly took the cheek sac grass out of his pocket...... What was prepared for the second event of the Triwizard Tournament is still a few left.
Eating a handful of gizzlies that tasted like spider's feet, Jon felt the familiar suffocation again.
Keeping his luggage inside with a blister charm to keep it from getting wet, Jon jumped into the lake after the boys.
Take a deep breath of lake water and let the water flow smoothly through the gills, drawing oxygen into the brain...... At the same time, Jon flapped the water with his duck-like hands and feet, and followed the Durmstrang boys.
They were no doubt swimming faster than Jon who ate the cheeks, but Jon was very agile and kept a little distance from them.
The Durmstrang boys in front of them swam little by little to the middle of the lake.
Then they began to dive......
Jon began to dive as well, and he looked around, but instead of seeing the underwater castle shrouded in a huge curtain as he had imagined.
However, he suddenly felt the fluctuation of the current.
Something was swimming this way, and it could be a big one.
......
Jon wiped his eyes and looked in the direction of the current.
A dark shadow in the water, hurrying towards their location.
For a moment, Jon was almost stupefied.
"It's ...... What the...... Monster?" A series of bubbles came out of his mouth.
That's right, Jon saw a terrible monster swimming towards it...... Physiologically, it should have been a whale and possibly a sperm whale.
Unfortunately, it was much bigger than Jon's imagined sperm whale.
If the Ukrainian Iron Belly is the largest creature Jon has ever seen...... Then this giant whale in the water is at least ten times the size of an iron belly, and the diameter of one eye may be more than a man's length......
I saw that the giant whale opened its bloody mouth, and a strong stream of water flowed, and then the students of Durmstrang were swallowed by him.
Jon shuddered and pulled out his wand, but he couldn't think of any magic to deal with such a terrifying monster.
The whale seemed to spot him as well, and it began to swim towards Jon.
Too late to escape......
There was a strong current, and Jon was also sucked into the mouth by the whale.
......
With the difficulty of breathing in the fresh air, the gills and webs brought by the gill grass began to degrade little by little.
Jon Hart regained consciousness.
There was something in my ears, it seemed to be the conversation of the Durmstrang students just now.
"Is this his first Leviathan?"
"Could it be a Muggle lurking in, do you want to inform the Headmaster?"
"Didn't you see his wand...... And where do you go to find the principal, he ran away, and now the whole school is in a mess......"
Jon got up and opened his eyes to see the tall boys surrounding him.
"Ahem...... coughed violently as he spoke, "I'm Christopher Patrick, a fourth-grader......"
Several Durmstrang students looked at each other, apparently none of them had ever heard the name.
However, Durmstrang has several times as many students as Hogwarts...... It's quite normal to encounter an unfamiliar face on campus.
"I'll need to get to Professor Winston Vance, the Dark Arts teacher, I'm in a hurry!" Jon quickly added.
Professor Winston Vance, this is Dumbledore's letter to get him to Durmstrang and the man he needs to find.
Hearing the name, several Durmstrang students seemed to dispel their doubts.
"Well, do you want us to help you?" asked one of them.
"No need!" Jon got up from the ground, casually glancing at his surroundings.
As in Grindelwald's memory...... A beautiful underwater castle surrounded by a huge bubble, and you can even see all kinds of fish swimming outside the bubble......
"Let's go back to school!" the Durmstrang students began to leave.
Jon hurriedly followed behind them, while continuing to quietly survey the surroundings.
Soon, they passed through a round-arched gate with the school crest depicting a double-headed eagle and a deer's head......
At the top of the gate, the word "Durmstrang" is written in Runi script.
