Chapter 304: Ability Upgrades and Fusions
The mystery of the "Tyrant" virus has been solved, opening a new door for Todd in terms of ability evolution.
After understanding how the tyrant works, Todd "decapitated" all the previous experimental mice, and began to focus on the practical application of the "tyrant" virus.
First of all, select several commonly used abnormal bacteria from the "Ability Library", such as regenerative bacteria, debilitating bacteria, fluoroscopic bacteria, light-concentrating bacteria, rapid bacteria, etc.
The bacteria are then placed in a Petri dish and injected with the Tyrant virus.
In the case of regenerative bacteria, when a fragment of its DNA is extracted by the Tyrant virus and an evolutionary gene is generated in the nest, its regenerative ability is increased to an unbelievable intensity.
It would be more intuitive to use live experiments to illustrate.
Todd first transplanted the evolved regenerative bacteria into the mutated mice, and then cut a hole in the belly of the mouse, and the test subject with the ability of "enhanced regeneration" almost followed the blade where the blade slashed, and the wound healed instantly.
Todd then removed one of the mouse's thighs with a scalpel, and then aligned the removed limb with the wound in the subject's leg and connected it. When the cut sides of the severed limb touched each other, a surprising scene occurred, and the two sections of the wound showed tissue healing, and the severed thigh finally regained its function.
Through this experiment, Todd discovered that the Tyrant Virus could optimize the genes of the Abnormal Bacteria and evolve into a more powerful ability based on the effects of its original ability. For example, the original regeneration ability can only slowly heal wounds, but it is powerless against severed limbs and mutilated organs, but the enhanced regeneration ability not only greatly accelerates the regeneration speed, but also can connect limbs and reshape organs, this discovery allows Todd to see the dawn of the xenomorph army being upgraded to xenomorph gods.
After completing the bacterial evolution experiments in turn, Todd learned from the results that regeneration can evolve into enhanced regeneration, and debilitating can evolve into enhanced debilitation (i.e., cleavage), and so on, such as Perspective, Spotlight, Speed, and so on.
After completing experiments with ability evolution, Todd had a bold idea.
If you just put Abnormal Bacteria A with the Tyrant Virus, you can get the enhanced Abnormal Bacteria A+.
So, what happens if you put two different abilities, bacteria A and B, together with the Tyrant virus?
Thinking of this, Todd selected the clairvoyant bacteria and light-concentrating bacteria from the "Abnormal Energy Library" and used these two microorganisms as the subjects of his next experiment.
Light-concentrating bacteria are distributed in the dermal tissue of the human body, and can store the light energy irradiated on the skin inside the bacteria, and then release the light energy under the stimulation of the nervous system;
Todd was very interested in what would happen if these two bacteria were put together with the Tyrant virus.
Put the three microorganisms of fluoroscopic bacteria, light-concentrating bacteria, and tyrant virus in the same petri dish, and after some waiting, a new unknown bacteria was born in the tyrant's virus nest.
After injecting the new bacteria from the petri dish into the mice, Todd then crouched in front of the container, quietly waiting for the unknown bacteria to take effect.
Although he has already taken all precautions in the laboratory, such as the tempered glass container for the test subjects, and the installation of a flamethrower above the container, so that the test subjects can be forcibly "disinfected" in case of emergency. But what happened next was a big surprise to him and made him pay a terrible price.
After a period of slumber for a while, the mouse with an unknown bacteria was transplanted and woke up with two scorching laser rays that burst out of the subject's eyes and penetrated the container. Standing not far away, Todd carefully observed the experiment, and unexpectedly, one of them could not dodge, and was burned by these two high-temperature rays in a large hole in his clothes.
Todd, who was in a hurry and wanted to activate the "disinfection device", saw the experimental mouse turn his "gaze" to the wooden shelf where the materials were stored.
Looking at the direction of the laser rays, Todd exclaimed, "Not good!"
The experimental rack where the flammable products were placed was instantly ignited by the laser rays, and with a loud bang, the entire laboratory suddenly burst into flames and thick smoke.
Todd, who hurriedly transformed into a monster form, rushed into the fire with an arrow step, and began to dispose of the test subject, extinguish the fire source, and clean up the scene.
After half an hour of busyness, this sudden experimental disaster was finally dealt with.
However, one-fifth of the experimental materials were burned, a large number of test subjects were affected by the fire, and the entire laboratory could not be used again in a short period of time. Luckily, the Amber Stone, along with all the Tyrant samples, was fine.
Sitting on the floor of the laboratory, Todd looked at the corpse of the culprit of the disaster in his hand, and smiled bitterly, he never thought that it would be such a serious consequence to transplant an unknown bacteria that had fused and evolved from a tyrant virus.
Finding the half-burned notebook that had fallen to the ground, Todd wrote on it one by one:
1. The Tyrant Virus can reorganize and optimize the genes of a single type of abnormal bacteria, greatly enhancing the effect of its bacterial abilities.
2. The Tyrant Virus can extract two or more of the ability genes, combine them, and evolve into a completely new ability gene. (Be careful! No one knows what this combination will be!)
3. The evolutionary abilities generated by the Tyrant Virus can only be transplanted to the mutated successors. (Humans, common xenomorphs, and unmutated heirs who lack the catalytic enzymes of archaea and are unable to stop the tyrant virus from devouring tissues)
Writing to the third point, Todd abruptly stops writing because he has found a serious problem.
Looking at the entire Dusk West City, there are only one and a half mutant inheritors who are truly alive. That one is naturally Todd, and that half is Jerome, the seventh in line to the "Discord Legion". (The North Island Valkyrie cannot enter the state of evolution, so she is not fully mutated)
However, the Tyrant Virus and the evolutionary bacteria it spawns can only be transplanted to the mutated successor, and the mutation of the successor will cause the collapse of physical functions and the damage of the nerve center, and even if the mutation is successful, the successor will become a monster that only knows how to kill.
These two premises are like a pair of contradictory causes and effects, trapped in a permanent vicious circle.
In other words, the Tyrant Virus and the evolutionary abilities it brings, and if you look at the whole of Twilight, there is only one person who can actually use them at the moment—Todd.
