Chapter 80: Establishing the Principles of Preaching
Luther's sermon cleared up a considerable part of the confusion in the mind that Christians were saved by their own good works. In their understanding, the saved person, even if he was not a good person before becoming a Christian, at least remained a good person after becoming a Christian to keep his salvation.
The central content of Luther's sermon is that good works are the result of salvation, and salvation is the work of God at all, not conditional on any process or time of human behavior.

Christians are born of God and redeemed by self-sacrificing love from Jesus, so Christians must love one another in order to prove that they are Christians. Christian love is the love of God, the love of self-denial. Unrequited love is unconditional love, which means that Christians love their brothers and their neighbors, not because they are lovely.
On the contrary, it is because they are not lovable, because they lack love, or even because they are hateful. Christus loved us so much that he died on the Cross to atone for our sins while we were still sinners. As disciples of the Lord, we are to be willing to give ourselves for the salvation of those whose souls are lost, just as he did.
"The code of conduct of the world is that a man will be destroyed if he does not do it for himself, but the code of conduct of Christians is to lay down his life for his brother. Today, many people who are determined to believe in the Christian will go to the battlefield, and everyone's life will be constantly tested by life and death. When your brother needs your life to save him, can you do it to lay down your life for your brother?
"Even if you don't go to war, the same test is just as often. Maybe you will become a preacher and preach the truth to strangers, to strange places.
"Misunderstandings caused by cultural differences may lead the uncivilized so-called barbarians to kill you, you may send a pagan backlash to hatred of you and kill you, and the Manchu government may prohibit you from preaching and eliminate you as a nuisance because of your insistence on preaching the Bible mission.
All of this persecution, which was true long back in Paul's ministry, is unchanged today, as is my own experience. And why are we not preaching at the risk of dying because we love the souls of the world?
Thus, self-denial, which is considered unattainable in the eyes of the world, has become the minimum requirement for Christians. So if you really want to become a Christian, start with the lesson of self-denial now. ”

"Christians are moved by God from the kingdom of darkness, the world ruled by Satan, to the kingdom of light, and become members of God's heavenly family. Only the children of God, the people of God's kingdom, can enter the kingdom of God.

It is true that Jesus accepts sinners, but only on the premise of repentance. What does it mean to repent? To repent is to turn from evil to good, to be no longer a sinner, to be no longer full of filth.
"So, don't be under any illusions. On the one hand, he wants to bear a Christian name, and on the other hand, he keeps his sinful habits. You can't stand before God like this. We must make it clear that in Jesus, in the church, in the kingdom of God, in the house of God, there is absolutely no place for such people to exist!
Of course, because of God's great love and tolerance, God may have committed one sin or another, and God did not immediately punish you and drive you out of God's kingdom. But you must be clear that God is giving you a chance to repent, not lowering His standards. The person who can ultimately be with God must be someone who meets the standard of divine holiness.
The Bible warns us not to look backwards with the handle of the plow. Now that you have entered the kingdom of heaven, you should not leave one foot in the world, nor should you continue to set your eyes on the prosperity of the world! Loving the Lord with all your heart, soul, and soul and walking the way of heaven is the only choice for a true Christian. ”

If we don't accept it, can we modify and conceal the truth? If someone disagrees, can we lower God's demands? If so, are we preaching God's Word or our own opinions?"
Mai Ke's words not only fully affirmed the preaching and the content of today's sermons, but also laid down a key principle for the future missionary work in the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom: preaching.
That is, no matter what difficulties there are, we must preach the truth of God, and no matter what the occasion, we must preach only the truth of God.
