[1] Reborn Burmese python

Next Chapter

The darkness dispelled the light, casting a black curtain over the world, and all living beings were enjoying the tranquility of the moment.

Under the bright light of the silver moon, the primeval forest was full of never-before-seen giant trees with strange plate-like roots, flowers and fruits on incredible old stems, giant leaf plants, and all kinds of exotic flowers and fruits.

The primeval forest is full of dangerous peaks and evil forests, poisonous insects and beasts can be seen everywhere, and the primeval forests and primeval secondary forests composed of towering forests make it a forbidden area for human beings and a paradise for wild animals

Not far from the trickling river, under the cover of damp grass and fallen leaves, lies a small hole, the size of a human hand with five fingers outstretched.

There was a chilling hissing from inside the cave.

One by one, the eggs were piled up tightly, and under the light of the moonlight through the weeds, the eggs gradually formed cobweb-like cracks.

A small snake poked its head out of the egg, then writhed its whole body out of the egg, looked around curiously, felt the hunger in its belly, turned its head and began to devour its eggshell to replenish its energy.

The body length of this small snake is about 28 cm, and the body is brown, with brown arrow-like spots on the back of the head, yellow on the back, covered with large irregular brown cloud-like spots, and a white belly.

That's right, it's the Burmese python.

It is also known as the Burmese rock python, also known as the southern snake, the qin snake, and the double-banded python, which is one of the subspecies of the Asian rock python of the snake suborder python family, and one of the six giant snake species in the world.

It is native to Southeast Asia and mostly inhabits tropical rainforests. They are easily accessible in some places close to water sources and sometimes on trees.

The Burmese python is known for its huge size, and in Asia the Burmese python is the second largest snake, after the reticulated python, which can reach a length of 7 meters and weigh up to 91 kilograms. The largest recorded is a Burmese python kept in Gunney, Illinois, USA, which is 8.23 meters long and weighs 186 kilograms.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the previous longest Burmese python was 9.75 meters long. However, most instances are within five meters. Burmese pythons grow throughout their lives, and female Burmese pythons are even larger than males. The head is smaller than the body and is non-toxic. The snout is flattened and has 3 pairs of labial fossae (heat-sensing organs).

Males are usually around 15 years old, females can be over 25 years old.

The Burmese python is a nocturnal snake that lives in tropical rainforests. Young Burmese pythons are only active in a given area on trees or on the ground, but as they grow older, they begin to confine their range of activity to the ground due to their increasing weight and length. On the other hand, the Burmese python is also an expert swimmer and can stay in the water for up to half an hour. Burmese pythons mostly hide their bodies among bushes, and some pythons found in the northerners also go into hibernation during the cold season. The Burmese python reproduces around early spring, with females giving birth to an average of 12 to 36 eggs and incubating them (the friction of the body muscles provides heat for the eggs). After hatching, young snakes will break part of the eggshell with their milk teeth and stay in the eggshell until the snake's skin has grown, and then go out to hunt for food.

In terms of eating habits, the Burmese python is a carnivorous animal like snakes in general. Burmese pythons hunt a variety of birds and mammals of all sizes, depending on their size. They bite their prey with their sharp barbed teeth, then bind their bodies to their opponents and press them tightly, using their strong muscular strength to pinch them to death. They can also be found in the vicinity of humans, mainly because rodents are one of their main foods.

As the first little snake broke out of its shell, the remaining twenty or so snake eggs also became restless, and all the little snakes wanted to rush out of the endless darkness as soon as possible, to welcome the new world, to welcome the bright world.

Articles 2, 3, 4, 5...... As time passed, 27 of the 28 snake eggs in the cave had broken their shells, and they all showed curious eyes to each other when they came out, and then followed their instincts to devour their former house, that is, their own eggshells.

One more ......

"Where is this?" In the last snake egg, the little snake whispered in the dim hour, but instead of the familiar human language, it spat out a chilling howl.

"I'm going out!" The last snake egg shook violently, and under the surprised gaze of 27 brothers and sisters, it rolled from side to side from the sunken nest, which was very cute.

It was as if the little snake's own strength could not break through the cage of the eggshell.

However, the process of breaking the shell is necessary, and it depends on one's own efforts, through which the blood is pumped to all parts of the limbs, and then changes to the lung breathing mode. If it does not go through this process of self-effort, it will not be able to breathe on its own or will die soon after it is not fully developed.

The eggshell hit the small raised rock, cracking tiny cracks, and the small snake came with a glimmer of light in its direction, and it used all its strength to drill out.

It slid off the eggshell in embarrassment, and it had stepped into the world of light.

The body length of the surrounding brothers and sisters is about 25 centimeters, but its body length is only ...... 15 cm is a sign of malnutrition.

A look of surprise corrupted the face of the malnourished little snake, and it looked at its brothers and sisters in disbelief, unable to tell if it was dreaming or not......

It seems that all the little snakes have been summoned by the moonlight, and they have been unable to resist the restlessness in their hearts, and have swarmed out of the snake nest.

It was the last to crawl out of the cave, its head held high, but it was not the pride of a predator, but the helplessness and confusion in its eyes.

It took a lot of effort for him to burrow out of the eggshell, so he urgently needed to replenish his energy, and his natural physical ability as a python reminded him to devour its eggshell, but his former human nature did not allow him to do so.

"Am I a snake?" it tried to wipe away its tears, but the familiar hands were gone, leaving only a small body of less than 16 centimeters.

The lack of nutrition and physical exhaustion caused by not eating eggshells makes it like a weak earthworm, at the bottom of the food chain, as if all the creatures around it can take its life......

It wanted to shed tears, but dry eyes couldn't, because tears were the power of humanity, the strongest overlord of the planet.

As a "sapient" creature, it is no longer qualified to shed tears.

The only thing that awaits it is death, or risking one's life to fight and try to adapt to this world of the jungle.
