Chapter 521: Slytherin's Past (Part I)

The strong stench couldn't help but make the two visitors who had just landed frown.

Even Phoenix Fawkes couldn't help flapping his wings and flew onto Jon's shoulder.

"Let's go!" Jon Hart said with a pinch of his nose and a feigned nonchalance.

Then, he raised his wand in his hand, allowing it to glow enough to illuminate the way forward.

The road ahead was so dark that they could only see a small part of what was in front of them, the light of the wand cast their shadows on the wet walls, which looked like monsters, slightly eerie in the darkness, and the ground was damp and creaked and loud when they walked on it......

Jon lowered his wand to illuminate the ground, and could see the remains of small animals scattered all over the ground, as if they had been eaten by something, but the bones were some years old.

Harry Potter on the side couldn't help but shudder, because all this in front of him couldn't help but remind him of the terrible monster he encountered in this same position four years ago......

"Don't be afraid, that monster is already dead...... Harry whispered to himself, and then he led the way forward, turning a dark bend in the tunnel.

And Jon Hart's movements seemed unhurried, as he walked forward, observing his surroundings with great interest—

More precisely, he was looking for traces of magic around him......

Even after thousands of years of time, the magic that created this secret room can still be seen everywhere. It was the legacy of the magic of Salazar Slytherin, one of the founders of Hogwarts.

In this way, they continued to walk forward, step by step, turning and turning along the tunnel.

For some reason, Harry wasn't feeling well, he just wanted to be able to get to the end of the tunnel quickly.

Finally rounding a bend, they finally found a sturdy wall in front of them blocking their path, or more precisely, a stone door carved with two intertwined snakes with large, glittering emeralds in their eyes.

Harry breathed a sigh of relief, he quickly approached and cleared his throat, the emerald-made eyes of the two intertwined snakes that seemed to flicker.

Soon, in a low, hoarse hissing voice, he was utterly unintelligible to Jon.

The two snakes parted, and the stone wall cracked through the middle, slowly sliding to both sides and disappearing.

......

What caught my eye was a huge auditorium -

"Is this the Slytherin Chamber of Secret?" Jon said with emotion as he looked at the scene in front of him.

After a not-so-pleasant journey, they were now at the outermost side of a large, long, dimly lit auditorium. It is surrounded by stone pillars carved with coiled serpents, supporting the ceiling that melts into the darkness of the heights.

The whole room is filled with a mysterious atmosphere of greenery, which gives people a very strange sense.

They walked forward step by step, until they reached the outermost side of the huge space, and when they were parallel to the last pair of stone pillars, a huge statue as high as the room itself appeared in front of them—

Jon craned his neck to see the huge face: it was an old dragon face, a sparse long beard, and an extremely stern expression......

Salazar Slytherin!

One of the Big Four who founded Hogwarts, one of the most famous male wizards in British history, and one of the most mysterious wizards......

This is despite the fact that he was actually the first Headmaster of Hogwarts. Of the various accounts, there is very little about him......

Among the more famous of these accounts, for example, he is one of the earliest recorded Parseltongues, and he is also an accomplished master of the Divine Receptive.

He was also adamantly opposed to Muggle-born wizards entering Hogwarts, and for thousands of years, wizards with "pure-blood" views have always considered themselves Slytherin inheritors.

And after an ideological conflict with several other friends, he finally chose to leave Hogwarts and go across the ocean......

This mysterious wizard, even Jon, was seeing him for the first time, as there was no portrait of him on the portrait wall in the Headmaster's office at Hogwarts.

Harry Potter didn't approach the statue, but looked around a little aimlessly, as if sensing that something wasn't quite right.

Jon Hart drew closer to the massive statue, circling around it, taking in some of the details around it.

Soon, he found some recorded text on the back of the statue's head—

"It's the summer of '998 and I'm in a big fight with Godric, and the argument was so intense that he even threw his white gloves in front of me, and he looked ready to break with me completely.

The content of the quarrel is still about the decisions of Muggle-born wizards. Godric had always harbored the naïve illusion that Muggle-born wizards were an unparalleled talent, and that their presence could strengthen the wizarding bloodline. But there is no doubt that he was wrong!

He had forgotten the purpose for which Hogwarts was founded. The four of us founded Hogwarts to protect and teach young wizards who were unable to defend themselves, and to protect them and the school itself from outside influences.

But once Hogwarts is fully opened, even greater danger awaits us. The vicarious agents of the Church will mingle in and shed light on the secrets of Hogwarts, and the scum and traitors of the wizards will be eyeing us.

There is no doubt that Godric's recklessness and naivety will destroy everything at Hogwarts!

Helga tried to persuade him, but her persuasion unsurprisingly failed, and she was not to blame, Helga's personality was too mild-mannered to do such a thing. If Rowena were still alive, she might have been able to stop this, but alas, she has been out of this world for more than a year.

A parting of ways seemed inevitable, and I had no choice but to-"

"Jon!" Harry Potter let out a sudden scream, forcing Jon to focus on the text carved into the statue.

"What's wrong, Harry?" Jon asked, frowning.

"I know something isn't quite right......" Harry stammered.

Harry also pointed to a clearing on the floor, "Yes...... Because...... The corpse of the basilisk...... It should have been here...... But now...... It's gone......"
