145 Talking Grilled Fish
However, it soon became clear to the mage that this was in vain. The abominable scent, like an ant that could crawl into any crevice, tirelessly burrowed into her nose. Catherine couldn't help it, and she bit down her left arm. The pain was so severe that she gave up her attempt at grilled fish for the time being.
But Catherine knew it wasn't a long-term solution. So she bit her arm and didn't let go, and took the right hand of the grilled fish behind her back, and hurried forward in a strange posture.
Finally relying on this method, the female mage successfully resisted the ** who ate fish. The price paid was that her entire forehead was stiff and numb, so that after hours of struggle, when she wanted to let go of her arms, she couldn't do it at all.
Catherine finally staggered out of the forest. She was physically and mentally exhausted, and her mind was full of thoughts of "can't eat, can't eat". She didn't even pay attention to what was happening outside the dense forest, she just fell to her knees with a "plop" and then threw herself down.
Catherine's left and right hands became difficult to move due to the long period of immobilization. She threw herself on the ground, unable to get herself up. This poor woman, who simply refused to eat the grilled fish, tortured herself into this comical appearance.
So when she saw the female mage on the ground, rocking her body from side to side in a funny way, but she couldn't get up, someone laughed happily. The man reached out and gently grabbed Catherine by the collar, helping the mage to her feet.
Catherine, who was relieved, didn't have time to spit out her arm and say "thank you" before she was shocked by the sight that came into view.
In front of her sat a true giant. This is not an ugly creature with two heads and no intelligence, but a handsome acquaintance who is tens of meters high. The first reaction of the female mage was almost to think that the giant in front of her was the elven man who had sent herβhe had sneaked around in front of him and transformed.
But Catherine saw the difference right away. Although the two of them look exactly the same in terms of faces, tattoos and even posture, the corners of the giant's eyes are covered with scratches from the years, and his expression is rich and varied, and his eyes are full of vicissitudes.
The giant sat cross-legged on the ground, surrounded by thick trees. Some of the trees have been stripped of their branches and treated simply, and some are lush and appear to have just been cut down.
"Human, how did you get here?" the giant's voice was not high-pitched, it sounded very calm and peaceful, and he spoke in the Old Elven language.
As a magician, Catherine has a deep understanding of the ancient elven language, but she doesn't usually use it to converse. She struggled to remove her left hand from her mouth, two rows of deep blood imprints on her arm.
"I, that, am delivering food. Catherine kept thinking about the grilled fish in her right hand, and stammered in the Old Elven language. For a moment, she could not bend her right hand from behind her back to the front, so she could only turn her back to show the giant.
The giant smiled and said, "Looks like you need to rest." He put his hand on Catherine's head, and the mage suddenly fell to the ground and fell asleep.
Catherine slept soundly, and it was a very good night's sleep. She didn't even dream, but took the purest rest. When the female mage woke up, she was in a very good mood. When she opened her eyes, she saw the blue sky, and her nose smelled the scent of grass, and she forgot for a moment where she was and why she came.
Catherine lay motionless until she heard a child talking, "Daddy said, if you wake up, go to dinner." β
"Daddy, eat?" the mage reacted sharply, and she immediately remembered what had happened. Catherine sat up from the grass and saw the little girl with a wreath of four-leaf wool. The little girl was standing beside her with big eyes and a smile on her face.
"Eat. I was indeed hungry. Catherine patted the little girl on the belly. She jumped up and stretched, then took the little girl's hand and walked towards the wooden house not far away.
"Is your father back?" asked the little girl.
The little girl said, "Daddy has already returned, and we are all ready to go to bed after dinner." I'm the most obedient, so Dad asked me to come out and call you. β
The two of them walked into the wooden house, which was simply furnished, except for a long dining table with a plate of grilled fish. At the end of the long table, a man sits reading a book. He heard the movement, put down the book and looked up, his face Catherine had seen several times.
"Dad, we're back. The little girl let go of Catherine's hand and ran towards the man. The man stood up from the table and lifted the little girl over his head and around his neck.
"You eat first, I'll come later. The man casually greeted Catherine, and teased the little girl around her neck to turn and walk into the door of the back room.
The female mage sat down at the table and ate the grilled fish unceremoniously. This seems to be the fish she brought to the giant, and she knew that it was for herself, so wouldn't it be easier to eat it then?
"Is that what you really think?" the fish asked, mouth open.
"Ahh This really scared her, how could the grilled fish she was eating talk?
The mage cautiously walked back to the table, the fish was still the same fish, and her mouth was not moving. She picked up her chair and sat back. But no matter what, I'm not in the mood to continue eating.
"This is the soul world of architects, and I shouldn't be surprised no matter how amazing it is. Catherine comforted herself.
"How amazing is that?" asked Grilled Fish again.
This time, the female mage was mentally prepared and did not jump up from the table. She pulled over the plate of grilled fish to take a closer look at what was so special about the fish.
Half of the grilled fish has been eaten, revealing an orderly row of translucent bones. The fish is grilled fragrant and tender, and it is a very fatty fish.
"It seems to be quite normal, although I don't know what kind of variety, but it tastes really good. Catherine didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, and commented in her heart.
"What kind of breed am I?" asked the grilled fish, opening his mouth.
"Oh, you do speak. The female mage could see and hear clearly this time, "What are you, why do you speak?"
However, the grilled fish did not move again, and did not communicate with Catherine at all.
"Will it only communicate with me if I have to answer its questions?" said Catherine.
"Do you want to communicate?" said Grilled Fish immediately.
The female mage blinked her eyes and thought: I don't speak, you know what is in my heart?
"What's going on in your mind?" Grilled Fish asked again.
"That's how it was communicated. Catherine felt she had found the key, "I just have to think, and you can know what I'm thinking, and then you'll talk to me." β
Grilled fish said, "Why do I know what you think?"
