Chapter 161: The Angry Unicorn (Part 1)
It's still cold, even though the snow has stopped for a week.
The Christmas holidays are over, and the new semester has begun.
On the first afternoon of the new year, they stepped on the snow and walked towards Hagrid's hut.
The number of students seems to be much lower, especially in Slytherin.
"A lot of people don't want to be a half-blood giant student, like Selwyn and Avery......," Astoria whispered, "so they didn't come......"
Her face still looked a little blushing, and it was the first time they had spoken directly since the Ball.
"Then they're going to be disappointed!" Jon shrugged.
Almost before Jon finished speaking, an elderly witch stepped out from the back of Hagrid's hut.
She took a hard puff with a pipe in her mouth, and glanced at the crowd, the witch looked odd, her gray hair cut short, and her chin protruding......
"Are you all here?" she asked in a loud voice.
"Who are you?" asked Steven Lucas, somewhat surprised.
"Graplan, Professor Wilmina Graplan!" replied the witch in a loud voice, "It's your temporary substitute teacher for the Conservation of Magical Creatures class!"
As she spoke, she opened her mouth, revealing a mouthful of big yellow teeth.
"Where's Professor Hagrid?" Astoria asked quietly.
"Hagrid......" Professor Graplan was stunned, "he was a little unwell. ”
There was a whisper from the crowd, and Jon knew they were discussing the report in the Daily Prophet.
"Come with me!" commanded Professor Graplan.
The group bypassed Hagrid's hut and walked into the Forbidden Forest, eventually stopping at an oak tree.
"Wait a minute......" shouted Professor Graplan, and disappeared into the Forbidden Forest.
......
A few minutes later, she returned, leading a horse-like white creature behind her.
"Oh my God!" Astoria was the first to react, she covered her mouth in surprise: "It's a unicorn!"
A white, horse-like creature, glittering from top to bottom, with four slender legs without any flaws, a mane as white as pearls, and a sharp horn on its head, towering toward the sky.
"It's a unicorn!" Jon swallowed.
Unicorns are full of treasures.
Its horn is powdered, a very precious potion that can treat serious wounds, including many dark magic injuries, its blood is the most excellent delay agent in potions, which can prolong the time and greatly reduce the difficulty of many high-level potions, and its leather is a leather with excellent magical protection......
Even hair can be used as the core of a wand.
Because the unicorn is so precious and unaware of its own inception to wizards, it was hunted by wizards in the 18th and 19th centuries, despite their natural possession of strong magic...... Once on the verge of extinction.
So much so that the Ministry of Magic had to designate the unicorn as a first-class protective artifact creature, and made up rumors that "if you kill a unicorn, you will be cursed".
Hogwarts' Forbidden Forest is home to a colony of about twenty unicorns, the largest colony of unicorns in Europe...... Of course, even the headmaster is not qualified to hunt them.
......
"Boys stand back!" exclaimed Professor Graplan, "Unicorns love the touch of women. The girls stand in front, approach it carefully, come here, relax a little......"
Jon took a few dozen paces and watched as the group of girls gathered around Professor Graplan and the unicorn.
"I'm going to be reincarnated as a unicorn in my next life!" Zacharis-Smith said with an envious expression.
"It's a bit difficult. Jon retorted softly, "The unicorn is a magical creature with a lot of natural magic!"
"Can't you give me some hope?" Zacharis roared angrily.
"Well done, Miss Greengrass!" they said, as they heard Professor Grapeland exclaim from there, "She's got a crush on you!"
Jon blinked and saw the unicorn approaching Astoria affectionately, licking her hand.
"The boys can come here!" Professor Grapeland waved at them.
Jon and Zacharis hurriedly approached.
Jon saw Astoria reluctantly leave the unicorn.
"You have to be careful!" warned Professor Graplan, "Approach it slowly, who will come first?"
"I'll do it!" Jon held up.
"Okay, Jon Hart, huh?" Professor Grapeland glanced at him and said his name directly.
It seems that he is already a nickname at Hogwarts.
"Yes!" Jon nodded, then slowly approached.
"You'd better get out your wand, Mr. Hart!" suggested Professor Graplan, "Unicorns generally like wands......"
Jon obeyed her orders and pulled his wand out of his pocket.
The unicorn in front of him suddenly changed his expression.
It suddenly raised its two front hooves in the air, as if to roar in a threatening manner.
"Stop!" Professor Grapeland hurriedly shouted, "Sarah...... What's wrong with you!"
Normally, Professor Grapeland grabbed the unicorn's reins.
If Professor Grapeland hadn't grabbed it, I'm afraid the unicorn would have rushed straight towards Jon.
The unicorn was still roaring wildly, and almost kicked Eloise Midgan with its front hooves......
The students were in disarray.
Jon was also stunned for a moment, and hurriedly took a few steps back, not knowing what was happening.
......
"What's going on?" a gruff voice suddenly came from behind them.
Rubeus Hagrid, with red circles under his eyes, appeared at the back of the crowd and shouted, "Wilmina, let me come!"
Hagrid rushed over and hugged the unicorn's head tightly.
Sarah...... Child...... Don't get excited, brother ...... here," Hagrid whispered in the unicorn's ear.
The unicorn, which was still excited just now, calmed down a little.
Professor Wilmina Graplane breathed a sigh of relief, her hands had been reddened by the ropes.
"Good thing you're here, Hagrid!" Professor Grapeland said with some gratitude.
"It's alright!" Hagrid shook his head, gently grasping the unicorn's rope and carrying it back to the depths of the Forbidden Forest.
Behind him there was thunderous applause from the students.
"What are you looking at?" Astoria asked curiously, looking at Jon as his eyes wandered around.
"Nothing...... I'm just looking for a bee!" Jon replied calmly.
