Chapter Ninety-Three: Christmas Gifts

The next morning, Jon wakes up from his sleep.

After a brief wash, he habitually made his way to the Hufflepuff common room.

To his slight surprise, it was unusually empty.

He quickly reacted that the Christmas holidays were coming...... The Hufflepuff students who remained at the school seemed to be the only one left, except for him, a first-year girl whose name he couldn't name.

This is good news! Since there is no one to disturb in the common room, you don't need to go to the room on the eighth floor in such a cold weather.

Jon hurriedly moved a few thick books and a roll of parchment into the common room. He spends his days in the common room, and when he gets hungry, he runs to the kitchen next door to get something to eat, and lately the house-elves have been serving up plenty of food.

At this time, in the rest of the castle, the usual Christmas decorations were done.

Despite the small number of students who remained, the walls of the hallways were covered with weeping ribbons of holly and mistletoe, and the auditorium was furnished with twelve Christmas trees shining with golden stars.

The Christmas atmosphere on campus is still very good!

On the day before Christmas, Jon prepares a lot of presents and brings them to the owl shed.

He had sent owls to Diagon Alley and London a few days earlier to buy them.

He sent his parents a pair of gloves and a scarf that performed their warmth magic, and they could still stay warm even in cold weather.

The house-elf in the kitchen, he sent a lot of pairs of children's shoes, although it is forbidden to give house-elf clothes, but there is nothing wrong with shoes.

As for Astoria, he sent a set of Icarusi cosmetics that were not too expensive.

......

On Christmas morning, Jon is woken up by an alarm clock.

A small pile of packages had already appeared at the foot of the bed.

He slouched up, put on a sweater, and shifted his gaze to the packages.

"It's time of year again!" Jon muttered to himself.

As he spoke, he opened the top one, a black cardigan...... At first glance, it was sent by Judy.

Eric's gift was a photo album of photographs of him growing from the age of one to thirteen.

Jon carefully tucked the two gifts into the cupboard, and opened the next one that Astoria had sent him—a Christmas tree-shaped chocolate cake with the words "Merry Christmas, Jon" written crookedly in cream.

It was supposed to be Astoria's own hands...... Jon took a bite, and it tasted so-so-so, not as good as a house-elf.

The cake was placed in the closet, and the next gift was small. Inside is a long, fine gold chain, with a rotating gold roulette wheel in the center, and the gold pendant is wrapped in a long piece of parchment.

On the parchment, there are hundreds of words of blessing written in a dense row, in different handwriting, and the signature of the top blessing is "Klein."

A gift from the house-elves!

Jon couldn't help but be a little moved, and carefully slipped the parchment into the innermost compartment of his suitcase, and then hung the pendant around his neck.

There were many more gifts to come, a gift from Professor Sprout, a gift from Zacharis, and a gift from Hannah...... Jon looked at them and put them away one by one.

"Bang, bang!"

Jon walked over and opened the window covered in a thick layer of frost.

A dark brown owl, fluttering, scurried into the house, and gasped for air.

The owl's right foot was tied to a letter, which Jon quickly removed and opened:

"My dear students;

It's been a long time, how are you doing, how are you learning what I taught you?

I'm in Corsica right now, enjoying one of the warmest Christmases of my life!

The werewolves' distant relatives have recently shifted their targets, and the principal's friends have helped me a lot, and my life has finally settled down a bit!

I wish you all the best too!

And: Merry Christmas!

G· K· L”

Looking at the short, handwritten letter, Jon couldn't help but smile.

There is no doubt that it was sent by Gilderoy Lockhart...... Nearly a year later, he finally received a message from Lockhart.

Despite being a liar, Lockhart helped him a lot and taught himself the Charm of Forgetting, to whom Jon is grateful.

Jon was glad to learn that Black's escape had caused the Dementors to hunt Lockhart to be much more relaxed.

He took out a pen and a note and began to reply:

"Dear Professor;

Thank you for your concern, I've mastered the spell you've given me!

I was so happy to hear from you and learn that you were out of danger!

Good luck with your speedy return......

And, Merry Christmas!

J· A· H”

He then put the letter into a metal barrel tied to the dark brown owl's right foot.

"Bring it to the man who sent the letter!" Jon whispered to the owl.

Feeding the owl a little breadcrumb, in the snow and ice, the owl flew into the sky again!

......

Packing up all the presents, Jon walked out of the Hufflepuff common room for the first time throughout the Christmas holidays.

At noon on Christmas Day, there is a very big meal.

At the entrance to the hall, Jon met Hermione Granger by chance! The Salvation Trio did not return home and stayed at Hogwarts for Christmas.

"Merry Christmas, Hermione!" Jon greeted her with a smile.

"You...... Hello......" Hermione greeted absent-mindedly.

She hurried forward, rubbing past Jon.

"Professor McGonagall!" Jon heard her shout.

Then, in the corner of the hall, Hermione and Professor McGonagall were talking very seriously...... Jon vaguely heard the words "Christmas presents", "black", and "firebolts".

Professor McGonagall then hurriedly followed Hermione out of the hall and towards Gryffindor Tower.

After a moment of silence for Harry's firebolt, Jon walked into the hall.

In the hall, the four long tables had been moved to the wall, and there was only one table in the center of the room that could accommodate a dozen people. Professor Dumbledore replaced his spiky wizarding hat with a flowered hat, which looked a little funny.

Jon sat in one of the seats.

"Would you like some of this sausage, Jon...... Tastes great. Dumbledore, wearing a hat, enthusiastically pushed a plate in front of Jon.

"Thank you, Professor!" Jon quickly took it.
