245 The original meaning of the Fall
The red rage that had been napping on the stone bench suddenly opened his eyes. He tilted his head and spat out a ball of light.
In the ball of light was a beautiful goblin, clutching her throat in pain. The female fairy's body was already blackened, and the thin wings on her back spontaneously combusted without fire. The ball of light was filled with a faint black smoke.
Red Fury's eyes widened when he saw this. He stretched out his paw and slapped the ball of light down. The ball of light slammed into the ground and shattered. A foul stench emanated from the shattered orb, and red rage covered his nose in disgust.
"Help me, help me!" cried out the goblin who rolled out the ball of light, "Rangsum is fallen, Lonsom is fallen." Oh my God, who's going to save me!"
However, the thin wings on her back burned out, and an invisible flame burned into her body. A few seconds later, the goblin was burned to a pitch-black statue. The statue still retains her former form, kneeling with her legs half-knees, one hand around her neck, and one hand stretched forward, not knowing who to turn to for help. Her mouth was slightly distorted, and her eyes were wide and bulging. When anyone sees this statue, they will feel her unwillingness and despair at the last moment of her life.
Red Fury's front paws stretched out, easily picking up the small statue. He held the statue in front of his eyes and looked at it endlessly. "Yes, yes, it's a natural work of art. I decided to bookmark it. ”
"You're a bad taste. Catherine looked coldly, "That's the legendary Fallen Heart, not a work of art." It's disgusting that you want this kind of thing. ”
"Oh, you know the Fallen Heart, too. Red Furious grinned and said, "How can I forget, Your Majesty the Demon King, you devils are the best at guiding souls to depravity." However, the fall of the soul does not form a fallen heart. So you're very rare with my artwork. I can transfer it to you if I want. ”
Catherine snorted in disgust. Don't bother with this guy anymore.
"Fallen Heart, sounds interesting, show me. The old professor was clearly moved.
Red rage was thrown in his hand, and the goblin scholar took it in his hand and studied it carefully. He pondered for a moment and said, "How do I feel that this statue exudes the breath of life?" ”
"It was meant to be alive. Catherine muttered.
"Living? Isn't that the same as the fallen soul? The soul is still fallen, and this heart is fallen, so it is still alive. The old professor guessed.
"Nonsense. Don't listen to that stupid dragon, he doesn't understand anything. Catherine said angrily, "The betrayal of the soul is blasphemy, and the surrender of the flesh to lust is called depravity." And not everyone is eligible. ”
"Tell me about it, I've never heard you say it, and it's worth jotting it down. The goblin scholar cheered up and asked for advice, and even Si Ge, who was sitting on the other side silently, turned his head slightly. On the contrary, Red Furious looked disapproving.
"The world does not know the depths and uses the word 'depravity' indiscriminately. Catherine confronted the intellectually curious old professor and said solemnly, "At first, it was only when the gods succumbed to the desires that came from the flesh that they were called degenerate. But then the bloodline of the gods slowly became passed down in the world. Therefore, there is also a gradual degeneration of the physical body with the blood of the gods. The reason for the Fall is that when the flesh is too powerful, the desires latent in the flesh are aroused to the point where they cannot be suppressed. Lust overtakes the control of reason, and the Fall takes place. Ordinary weak races, to be honest, cannot be degenerate - their flesh is not strong enough. ”
"As for the so-called depravity of the soul. In fact, it is just a betrayal of the faith. Turning one's back on the gods is 'blasphemy,' and turning one's back on oaths, conscience, and the like is 'blasphemy.' Catherine continued, "The words were originally very thin. But the clergy of those religions were called 'degenerate' for the sake of preaching. Anyway, 'turn your back on your faith and give in to your desires.' Both the soul and the body are depraved.'" ”
Catherine's last sentence is actually from a well-known story in the religious canon "The Word of God" - "The Apostle".
"The Apostle" tells the story of the Most High God incarnated as a handsome apostle, begging along the streets. One day, a beautiful rich daughter passed by him, took a fancy to the handsome apostle, and was willing to marry him. So the apostle offered to let the rich daughter donate all the dowry and go with him to the wilderness to live the most difficult peasant life. The daughter of a rich family agreed, and secretly went to the wilderness with the apostles without telling her parents.
However, on the day of their wedding, the apostle told the rich daughter that he would go into the depths of the wilderness for a year. A year later, he would come and pick up the rich daughters to their new home. The rich daughter swore that she would live alone in the wilderness and wait for the return of the apostles.
But three months later, the parents of the wealthy daughter sent a sturdy hunter to the wilderness in search of their daughter. The hunter found the rich daughter and took care of her for six months. Six months later, the rich daughter fell in love with the hunter and eloped with him and fled back to her parents' house.
At the end of the year, the apostle appeared again in the presence of the rich daughter. At this time, the daughter of the rich family was not only married to the hunter, but also conceived their children. The apostle performed a miracle and led the rich daughter, the hunter, and her parents into the depths of the wilderness. Before the crowd was a tall castle with cattle and sheep in front of it, and behind it was a mountain of gold overgrown with silver trees, and the apostle was the master of this wealth.
The apostle told the rich daughter that if she was willing to kill the child in her womb and return to the apostle, she would be forgiven and become the mistress of the wealth. But if the rich daughter is unwilling to do so, she must die to atone for her betrayal.
Both the hunter and the rich daughter's parents persuaded the rich daughter to return to the apostle's side, but the rich daughter refused without hesitation, and she was ready to accept the punishment of death. So the apostle uttered the words, "Turning away from the faith and giving in to desires, both the soul and the flesh are falling." He gave all his wealth to the rich daughter and turned away.
Later, in the doctrine of the One Supreme God, the apostle said this sentence as the standard answer to the question "What is the Fall?"
As for the interpretation of this story, it has become a major difficulty in the history of the mission of the "One Most High and True God". Moreover, it is precisely because of the different interpretations of the "Apostles" that two different sects were eventually formed within the church, which profoundly affected the political pattern of today's Eastern Continent.
