In 1926, the 2nd Division responded to the Northern Expedition and was reorganized into the 26th Army of the National Revolutionary Army, successively serving as a battalion commander in the 1st and 6th Divisions of the army, participating in the major battles of the Northern Expedition and the Western Expedition, and experiencing more than 40 battles.
