Chapter 156: Christmas Dinner (Part 2)
"Thank you......" Astoria Greengrass lowered her head a little nervously: "You are actually very handsome today......"
Jon glanced around, but Professor McGonagall had left the office after handling the magpie.
Now it's just the two of them.
"Professor Dumbledore asked Professor Snape if I would like to be a warrior's dance partner...... I guessed it was yours, so I agreed......" Astoria stammered a little, "Professor Snape said, Professor Dumbledore told me not to tell you in advance...... He said......"
"A surprise, huh?" Jon said lightly, smiling and grabbing Astoria's hand, "I never imagined there would be such a big surprise at the party. ”
Jon felt that he was now willing to help Snape dispose of a hundred more ash serpent eggs, and follow Dumbledore to reminisce about Grindelwald's speech ten times, and have no problem dealing with the Ukrainian iron belly of the index finger in a row......
Astoria's arm was slightly stiff from tension, but she still held Jon's hand tightly.
"It's almost time, let's go to the hall too?" Jon suggested softly.
"Okay!" Astoria smiled sweetly.
......
The doors of the auditorium have been opened.
Professor McGonagall walked at the front of the crowd, followed by the warriors and their dance partners, walking in pairs. The chattering crowd flashed a passage for them to pass by.
"Jon, I'm a little nervous!" Astoria whispered.
The two of them were the last of the four pairs of warriors, and the crowd could be heard pointing at them from time to time.
"It's okay!" Jon smiled, "Just take Potions class." ”
Astoria smiled too, but she took Jon's hand tighter.
The walls of the auditorium were covered in glittering silver frost, and the ceiling was a starry night sky, with hundreds of mistletoe sprigs and wreaths of ivy.
The four college tables were gone, replaced by dozens of small lantern-lit tables, each with a dozen or so people seated next to it.
Jon smiled at the many people greeting him, and Astoria bowed her head shyly, avoiding the eyes of her classmates, not even when her sister called her.
Daphne Greengrass's dance partner was Draco Malfoy, and for some reason Mr. Malfoy's face was rather displeased, and Ernie McMillan's dance partner was Susan Bones, both of whom were waving excitedly at Jon, and Jon saw Ron Weasley, who was thinking about something with a gloomy face, and didn't look at his dance partner Parvati Patil......
The warriors came to the front of the guest of honor, Dumbledore smiled happily, and Madame Maxime glanced at Cedric with some satisfaction, but Karkaroff saw Hermione getting closer and closer, and the expression on his face was rather subtle.
Ludo Bagman arrived, dressed in bright purple robes with large yellow stars, while Barty Crouch did not show up, as Jon had expected.
His assistant Percy Weasley sat in his place, looking triumphant and pretentious, greeting Harry Potter.
The five referees, as well as eight Warriors and their partners, sat on the podium.
There was a golden plate in front of everyone, there was no food in it, but there was a small menu in front of everyone.
Jon picked up his menu and read softly, "Beef stew in red wine!"
A plate of French beef immediately appeared on his plate, and Astoria next to him gave him a somewhat surprised look.
Jon approached her and explained, "I think the beef stew in red wine tastes the best, and the Provencal stew and bacon custard pie are good...... Forget about that sweet and sour pork chop, there is too much sugar in it, and it is simply not a human ......"
Astoria blinked slightly, and several pairs of eyes at the table stared at Jon in surprise.
"Ahem!" Dumbledore looked at his menu with a blank face, and then said very clearly, "Pork chops!"
A sugar-coated pork chop quickly appeared on Dumbledore's gold plate, and Dumbledore happily picked up a piece and licked the icing on it, then glanced at the others:
"Let's get started, everybody!"
The rest of the table followed suit and ordered their favorite food on their plates.
Jon and Astoria are Percy Weasley and Ludo Bagman on the left, and Hermione Granger and Wickdor Klum are on the right.
"I'm sorry that Mr. Crouch is not doing well, very badly. It's no surprise that he's been wrong since the World Cup—Percy Weasley was talking to Dumbledore about his boss:
"The World Cup was a terrible defeat for the entire Ministry of Magic, especially Mr. Crouch...... Because he's that damn house-elf, called lightning or something, and misbehaves......"
Jon glanced at Hermione, who he expected to immediately refute Weasley's words, but she seemed to be in a speculative conversation with Wicktor Krum and didn't seem to pay any attention to Percy Weasley's remarks.
"Ah, we also have a castle, which I don't think is as big as here, and it's not as comfortable and depressing as here. Krum was talking about Durmstrang in his broken English: "In the summer, we flew around every day, over the lake, over the mountains—"
Fleur Delacour and Harry Potter are a relatively dull couple, and Harry is like a child who has just fallen in love, at a loss for what to do, and is courteous to Autumn Zhang.
Fleur complained irritably about the situation at Hogwarts: "These decorations are nothing, at Beauxbatons Castle, our auditorium is full of ice sculptures at Christmas, and that's beautiful......"
Their dance partners, Cedric Diggory and Cho Chang, are just talking about them...... Jon always feels like there's a big melon to eat!
Jon was munching on beef as he observed his surroundings...... Suddenly, a crisp voice rang in his ears.
"Open your mouth!" a cool breath blew through the base of his ear, tickling him.
Jon had just opened his mouth when something round and moist was sent into his mouth by Astoria.
"Is it delicious?" Astoria asked in a shy whisper, "The oysters I just peeled...... You shouldn't hate it......"
"Great!" Jon blinked, "I've never eaten it...... It couldn't be more delicious than that!"
