Chapter 449: May is Golden
Apricots are not unique to Jiangnan, but the sentence "apricot blossoms spring rain Jiangnan" links apricots with Jiangnan. There is a song in Fan Chengda's "Four Seasons Pastoral Miscellaneous": "The plums are golden and the apricots are fat, and the wheat flowers are snowy and the cabbage flowers are thin." No one has ever fallen on the fence, only dragonflies and butterflies fly. The poem depicts the beautiful and tranquil scene of the countryside south of the Yangtze River during the Southern Song Dynasty. In the weather in May in the south of the Yangtze River, we smell the same fruity fragrance and see the same scenery as the poet.
In spring, the apricot blossoms on the edge of the small bridge and flowing water are only white and slightly shy pink, and in May, when the south wind begins to ripen, the wheat is yellow and ripe, and the apricots of a tree are yellow with rain. The cool breeze blows in the face, with a faint rain mist and a hint of sweet and mellow breath, and the apricots of a tree here and there are full of branches, which are as yellow as agate, making people look at the liquid under the tongue.
Some old trees with lush branches grow in front of and behind the house, and when the window is opened, the fruity fragrance is fragrant, and the apricots that are within reach are yellow and red, shining with an attractive luster, and trembling slightly on the branches. The surrounding scenery is also full of vitality because of this, and the bright fruit colors are also a taste of pastoral life.
Take a ladder up to the tree, and eat as many as you want. The apricots, which usually face south and receive a lot of sunlight, are larger, sweeter and more orange and warm, and when you bite into it, the sweet and sour juice will overflow between your lips and teeth. If it is a large continuous apricot grove, in the ripe season, what kind of prosperous scene should it have, I am afraid that even the air is soaked with a strong fruity fragrance that cannot be dissolved.
There is a kind of small mountain apricot commonly known as "May Yellow", which is more petite and lovely than the average apricot, ripe before the fruits, the stars are generally embellished between the branches, sprinkled with oceans, charming and simple, who can not help the temptation when they see it.
Pick one and rub it in your hand, tear off the peel, hold it in your mouth, gently knock open the flesh with your teeth, and then sip it with the tip of your tongue to remove the small core......
It's as if the little sister next door in the early years bit your ear and whispered with a smile, which is difficult to tell outsiders.
There is a little yellow in the thousands of wisps, and thousands of red lips are suspicious...... Sometimes I can't help but think that living in the south of the Yangtze River in May, where the wheat and apricots are ripe, a place full of fruity fragrance, is really a blessing.
If the apricots are harvested too much and cannot be eaten for a while, the apricots are broken in half and spread in the sun to become dried apricots, which is homemade preserved fruit. For country children, apricot kernels are also a good thing, take a brick to smash open, take out the almonds, chew in the mouth, the slightly bitter unique fragrance, so that you will never forget.
In May, the south of the Yangtze River is green, and the silkworms are old and loquat yellow. At the end of May and the beginning of June, it is the season when the three pools of loquat in the south of the Yangtze River are full of mountains and yellow ripeness. This time, I was dipped in the light of a few painters and followed them to the Xin'anjiang Landscape Gallery to catch the loquat festival.
First drive from Shexian County to Shendu, and then abandon the car from Shendu to board the boat and go upstream. The downstream of Shendu is dammed and impounded, and the mountains with thousands of peaks have become the famous Qiandao Lake, and in the upper reaches of Shendu, that is, the place where we went to taste loquat this time, the three pools, which are known as the "hometown of Chinese loquats", have now become a tourist attraction in She County.
Deep pools and shallows, 10,000 transferred to Xin'an. The Xin'an River, which flows for thousands of miles, the green hills on both sides of the river rise and fall, the loquat forest that stretches for dozens of miles is verdant layer by layer, and the golden loquat floats in the green leaves, it is as beautiful as the golden clouds, and the Hui residential villages with white walls and black tiles are really a wonderful landscape gallery.
The queen mother in the sky is peach, and there are three pools of loquat on the ground. Zhangtan, Miantan, Yingtan are three large and deep pools, also the names of three villages, surrounded by mountains here, clouds and fog all year round, abundant rainfall, mild climate, create a unique natural environment for the growth of loquat. The loquat produced is characterized by thin skin, thick meat, sweet juice, water, fragrant and refreshing, and is famous for its early maturity and high quality.
We went ashore at a ferry and walked among many fruit farmers with baskets and hooks, and immediately someone came to contact us on a mobile phone and led us to the loquat forest in the mountains. In fact, there are endless fruit trees on the roadside, ripe loquats, clusters of clusters hanging on the branches, clear red and shiny, shining with fantastic brilliance, people salivate to see.
Only then did I understand why Chinese painters like to paint loquats, which are really beautiful. I heard that this is Zhangtan, and I didn't walk much to see an octagonal pavilion built in the garden, which has tea, spiced eggs, pastries and other supplies. Obviously, these are superfluous, everyone looks left and right, all attention, all eyes, are attracted by those starry loquat hanging from the branches. There are several varieties of loquat here, some are red, some are white, and some are yellow. We didn't bother to talk much, but we went deep into the woods, and when we saw a big red loquat, we climbed the branches and picked them off.
The ripe loquat skin is very easy to tear, pick a loquat from the branch, twist off the slanted handle of the head, peel it out in three or two strokes, stuff it into the mouth, knock the teeth lightly, spit out the slippery core, the fresh sweet and soft flesh is wrapped in the tongue, and the piggyback brings up a mellow taste that immediately spreads in the mouth.
After walking more than ten steps, I ate more than ten in one go, until my hands were sticky with sugar juice, and a burp came up, and my stomach turned over with a mellow sweet smell, which was really pleasant. There were two foreigners who simply climbed to the tree like monkeys, sat on a thick horizontal branch, backed by a branch, and supported a branch with both feet, and picked whatever they wanted to eat with their free hands, and made faces at us below. In the forest, you can see the cheerful figures of children and the light figures of women in plain clothes.
I saw that the loquat on a few trees not far away was obviously much whiter, but it was not small, so I reached out and picked one and peeled it out, the flesh was also white, and there seemed to be a lot of water, and it tasted so fresh when I stuffed it into my mouth. Lao Wang, a friend from She County who has been with us all the time, told me that this is called Baihua loquat. Then, Lao Wang let us see the precious varieties "Da Hong Pao" and "Glory Flower".
"Da Hong Pao" is orange-red, the fruit shape is slightly long, the skin has sesame spots, the flesh is crystal red, soft and thick, and the entrance is fresh and sweet;
In fact, Hangzhou's Tangqi "White Sand" and "Red Sand" loquat are also well-known all over the world, but their place names are not as good as Santan. I heard that after the poet Liushahe tasted the three pools of loquats, he once wrote in his usual harmony: Xunyang pipa three bullets, Shexian three pools of loquat, pipa three bullets surging clear waves, three pools of loquat hanging Jinxia. Pipa, loquat, linger and difficult to return, the host forgets to return to the guest and does not send it.
