Volume 2: The Big Lie Chapter 76: The Mirage
"Red mane and yellow scales, dragon scales are reversed. Jiang Qinghan repeated Qianzhou's description.
Such a broad description, if limited to the scope of [mythology], would be simply detailed. One of several creatures that almost point firmly to the top of the pyramid.
After a short silence, Qianzhou and Jiang Qinghan said in unison: "[Mirage]!"
............
Since the fall of the [Eldest Son] thousands of years ago due to unknown reasons, and a large number of various transcendent creatures and alien races retreated into the abyss, it has been rare to see the figure of the [Mythical Species] on the earth. (Note 1)
The Mirage and the Jade Dragon, the symbol of the Qin state, are believed to be different branches of the same genus – of course, this is just unwarranted speculation by some scholars because of the similarities in their appearance.
In fact, from this world to the abyss, no scholar has the ability to study the [Mythical Species] that is born with a fourth-order.
For the Mythical Species, their True Bodies are the ultimate embodiment of the Dharma and their greatest secret – just as you cannot allow the Scourge to open up its authority and the Kingdom to share its Kingdom. (Note 2)
If it is not convenient to understand this, it is like asking the capitalists to donate their wealth for free, the emperor to share his throne, and the aristocracy to preach the equality of all people.
Because of the large difference in personality or class, the vast majority of [Mythical Species] play a disgraceful image in the myths and legends of various places - just as humans don't care about the opinions of ants, [Mythical Species] don't care about the opinions of ordinary people.
In those myths and legends, most of the [mythical species] will be defeated by human heroes as villains.
Later scholars believed that those stories depicted a great battle between the transcendents and the Mythical Ones—whether the transcendents were for the sake of justice or other interests...... Then it is unknown.
Surprisingly, the Mirage has a fairly positive image in local legends, and he is usually depicted as a mischievous and well-meaning dragon. (Note 3)
In the story, they would sow clouds and rain for the earthly people when the gods did not respond to mortal prayers, and even drive schools of fish to the nets of unlucky fishermen. It can be seen from this that the [Mirage] is a [mythical species] that is quite close to humans.
Of course, Mirage will also have its time to rage.
When provoked by ignorant mortals, they may also devour livestock in droves or freeze crops to death. However, the mirage's fury is also relatively restrained, almost never wantonly and lastingly - compared to the mythical species that tear the earth apart at every turn, causing earthquakes and floods, the mirage's performance can be described as mild - not that the mirages are incapable of doing so, but more of a restraint and a little punishment.
Despite his unrivalled brute strength, the Mirage is known to the world for his magical illusions.
The word "mirage" was born because of "mirage".
Many sailors who have lost their way at sea will see lifelike palaces and pavilions on the surface of the sea, which are full of gold and treasures and delicacies.
Hungry sailors were so brave that they could even take some jade with them after a full meal. But if they are too greedy, the treasures they carry will disappear when they come ashore.
Most of these are the help and pranks of the Mirage.
The illusion of the Mirage is not to deceive the five senses or the soul like a transcendent being, but to deceive the world itself!
Mirage can deceive the world on a legal level, turning the illusory and the real upside down. Let the world think that what the Mirage created out of nothing is existence.
These created things have the same effect as real matter, and can be eaten and used. Even more exaggerated is that these things do not require Mirage to spend additional essentia to maintain, they can continue until the world finds itself deceived due to contradictions in the operation of the rules.
However, this process will continue for a considerable period of time, and if the Mirage only creates ordinary substances such as water, trees, and stones, it will never even be discovered by the world.
Just "reaching the peak" can no longer describe the illusion of [Mirage]. Some transcendents who are proficient in the path of "illusion" even believe that the [Mirage] has come to the end of this path, and there is no possibility for future generations to transcend.
Overall, the Mirage is a powerful but quite close to the human Mythical Species.
............
"So you mean that the [Mythical Species] here is the [Mirage]?" Jiang Qinghan furrowed his good-looking eyebrows.
If you add these dense white mist from Qianzhou's description, the possibility of [Mirage] is indeed very high.
Recalling the historical silhouette he had glimpsed in his dream, Qianzhou nodded: "And I think that the first prophet in the legend of Enron is this [Mirage]." Nine times out of ten, they were descendants of the [Mirage]. ”
"This ......" Jiang Qinghan didn't know what to say for a while.
The two continued to walk in the white mist, and the sound of dripping water came from the edge of the white mist.
"Do you hear the sound of water?" asked Chishu.
"I hear you. ”
"I guess this is the source of the Dome. Qianzhou said, "It is almost impossible to have such a large river in the white desert. But if it's a Mirage, it's different. ”
The two walked to the edge of the white fog and found that the white fog here had turned into droplets, gathering together and not knowing where to go.
It's not like water vapor liquefaction, it's more like the paint on the painting becomes a real thing.
"Turn fiction into reality, make fiction come true. This is the power that only Mirage has. ”
Note 1: [Eldest son]
The eldest son refers to the earliest part of life at the beginning of the opening of the world. Most of these beings were born with incredible powers, and were worshipped as gods in local mythology, belonging to the earliest primordial gods. And the title of "firstborn" is to distinguish it from "belief in God".
Taking Chinese mythology as an example, the likes of Nuwa and Pangu are typical [eldest sons], and in later generations, those who become immortals through the [Fengshen Bang] or other cultivation paths and need incense are the [Belief in Gods].
Note 2: The first [Kingdom] here is worthy of being a fourth-order transcendent. The second kingdom refers to the ability of the kingdom tier (fourth order).
Note 3: None of these descriptions of Mirage were created by me, with the exception of the part about illusions. Mainly from Baidu Encyclopedia, Zhihu and ancient books such as "Sancai Tuhui".
But there are some parts of these different descriptions that are in conflict, so I have to make trade-offs when describing them. Don't be surprised if you see a different statement. In this book, my setting is the main thing.
