Chapter 345: Tales of the Night (Part I) (Part 1)
When the last rays of sunlight disappeared, black mercilessly enveloped the entire sky. It was the height of summer, and the weather in the Transylvanian plateau was so hot that even the night did not ease for a minute or two.
The plateau, which rises between 1,000 and 1,600 feet above sea level, is divided and fragmented by the tributaries of the Danube, the Mureš, Somyš and Kriss, and the area near these rivers is home to small Romanian, Hungarian and Gypsy villages.
Our story takes place in a small town called Gileu on the banks of the Muresh River, where every house has its doors and windows closed and lights lit because night has fallen.
On the suspension bridge over the Muresh River, almost a mile away from the town, a man in black was trying to make his way towards the town.
The man in black was not tall, and his body was wrapped in a black cloak, revealing only a pair of eyes...... The eyebrows are very delicate, and he doesn't look very old, fifteen or sixteen years old.
Carrying a suitcase in his hand, he looked back from time to time.
The howl of a hungry wolf could be heard behind him...... Wild wolves are a fairly common wild animal in the Transylvanian highlands, and although their numbers have declined dramatically in recent years, encounters with them in the wild are not uncommon.
The man in black subconsciously quickened his pace...... Walk across this drawbridge and enter the territory of the town, and it is safe, and no fierce hungry wolf will have the courage to break into the human settlement.
The sound of the water flowing under the suspension bridge was turbulent, a bright moon appeared in the sky, very round, only a line away from the full moon, and the man in black trotted and looked at the emerald green points of light behind him with some fear......
It wasn't until he turned around when he reached the end of the drawbridge that the man in black realized that there was a man standing at the bridge in front of him.
The man was tall and strong, exuding a dangerous aura, while his eyes were closed...... The Man in Black subconsciously prepared to avoid him, as she realized that there had never been such a figure in the village......
The man's muscular frame occupied almost half of the bridge, so she leaned to the right side, trying to squeeze past him.
But just as they passed by, the stout man in front of her suddenly clawed hard and dug into her face.
......
Several blood streaks appeared on the face of the man in black, and her mask was also scratched off, revealing a slightly immature face.
She was a pretty girl, but a few fresh scars had completely ruined her beauty, and judging by her dress and appearance, she seemed to be a schoolgirl in a hurry to get home.
The stout man strode up to her, holding a small stick-like thing in his hand, his nails deliberately sharpened, and looked a little horrible.
Then, a rope came out of nowhere and tied her firmly to the ground......
At the same time, she could make out the man's face—a very rough face, with slotted gray hair, a scarred face, and baring sharp canine teeth...... For some reason, when she saw this man, she thought of a hungry wolf, because his eyes were green, and even faintly glowed green.
"Please, let me go......" The girl lying on the ground trembled, and she stammered a little, "My house is in the town of Gileu in front...... My father was the mayor of the town...... He'll give you the money......"
She spoke Romanian, and the other party didn't seem to understand it at all, and she didn't want to understand it.
The wolf-hungry man leaned over and sniffed vigorously at her face, which smelled of a foul odor.
"A Muggle girl at such a young age, it looks like I'm lucky......" the man muttered to himself, licking his lips lightly, "but not very lucky, after all, it's not a full moon." ”
Then I heard only a scream -
The man pounced like a hungry wolf and bit the girl's throat.
......
Lifting his trophy and picking up a chick with ease, he strode across the drawbridge again. The girl he grabbed was not dead yet, and let out a few helpless moans......
He didn't have to go far, because the green dots of light were getting closer to him a little bit.
It wasn't until they were within fifty yards of each other that the "green dots of light" began to show their true colors—
It's not the wild wolf that the girl imagined, they are all human, but their eyes can emit green light in the dark night.
The man threw his trophy to the ground as a man about his size walked up to him...... Two strong men like a hill hugged fiercely.
"Fenrir, my friend...... It's been a long time!" The other party's voice sounded a little excited.
"yes, Jolman...... We're all alive in the dark!" Fenrir Greyback grinned, revealing his bloodstained teeth.
"What about Jean, I heard he's with you, working for the Dark Lord?"
Fenrir Greyback replied, "He should be able to come the day after tomorrow...... He's in Albania now, completing a mission for the Dark Lord!"
"That's an honor......
Fenrir Greyback looked away from his friend and began to look at the remaining "green dots of light".
"My countrymen, my new friends......" he cried out, "perhaps you must introduce yourself to me, and let us get to know each other!"
"I'm Fenrir Greyback, from England!" his voice was loud, and his tone had an undeniable flavor, faintly already the leader of the group.
"Abt Hebrew!" a green-eyed man walked over, avoiding Greyback's gaze in some panic, "from Spain." ”
"Hello...... Abt ...... Welcome, my friend!" Fenrir Greyback boldly stepped forward and gave him a hug.
"Jessica Bate, from Luxembourg. ”
"Ivan Sumarokov, from Ukraine. ”
......
At the beginning of the first person, a man and woman walked over and hugged Fenrir Greyback one after another...... They came from all over Europe, and they made no secret of their fear of Greyback.
The last one to come forward was a haggard, pale, and tired looking young, but with prematurely wrinkled forehead, gray hair, and ragged clothes......
But instead of avoiding Fenrir Greyback's eyes, as the others did, he looked straight at him without fear.
His voice was calm: "Remus Lupin, from Wales. ”
