I have been in this contradiction for several years, and I have not written it, but the idea in my head has been stirring.

Mo Ran originally wanted to write an ancient Xianxia novel (presumably every post-80s and post-90s generation has a martial arts dream or a fairy dream!) For this reason, he also did some homework, but he was ambitious, and when it came to actual action, he couldn't help but be greatly discounted, and then he didn't even have it.

In the later days, I could only continue to read the book to comfort the distant dream in my heart. After reading a few romance novels, I was quite touched, so I made up my mind to write a contemporary novel, which should be regarded as an exercise in writing and the beginning of a coding career.

At the beginning of 2017, during the business trip in Tianjin, due to the company's wrong coordination, the construction team could not be in place. But man is a social animal, the most afraid of the word loneliness, especially in a foreign place, all you see are strangers, and Mo Ran is not a debauched person, do not always indulge in the joy of the lights, so most of the time, he can only be in the hotel in front of the empty room, in a daze to kill time, and then it is really boring ruthless, so he began to code words, talk to comfort, since then the road to writing books has finally begun.

Writing is boring, and it is also the best way for a person to reflect on himself, although the process is unbearable, but during that business trip to Tianjin, Mo Ran still persevered for more than a month, and wrote about 160,000 words.

After the business trip, I felt that everything was not going well in the company, and I was silently discouraged, so I had the idea of leaving, and I was not in the mood to continue writing. After resigning, Mo Ran wanted to show his ambitions and complete the new book he had been thinking about, but he was just a casual person and did not have enough self-control, so he indulged in online games and couldn't extricate himself.

After playing for more than three months, I silently watched the bag become more and more shy, and it had reached the miserable point where I couldn't open the pot, so I had to reluctantly get up and start looking for a job. Finally, it took him more than a month to endure the scorching heat of the July weather in Shanghai before he found a more satisfactory job.

It was about the National Day, and after a few days of gathering at my brother's house, I was encouraged by my family and had the passion to create again, and since then, I have been writing and collecting materials intermittently during work. It wasn't until May of the following year that I was familiar with an environment and didn't make much progress in my work, so I had the idea of resigning again, so I had no intention of writing again. It wasn't until a month later, after Mo Ran really left the company without distractions, that he went to code words wholeheartedly, and persisted for nearly a year before finally completing this book.

At first, Mo Ran just wanted to write about social ills, workplaces, Emotions and nostalgia are familiar to everyone, because when writing the book, Mo Ran has been in the society for several years, in addition to understanding some big truths, in life, career and even love have not made much achievements, so he can't help but have cynical thoughts, want to use the pen to expose this ugly social reality, which is often involved at the beginning of the book, just write and write, and think that all the gentlemen are highly educated people, knowledge and conversation are naturally extraordinary, in front of everyone to talk about these, isn't it a class to get an axe? Moreover, silent intelligence is limited, and when analyzing things, it is not as good as those erudite people who can penetrate into the bones, and it is far from reaching the eye-catching eyes of the police world, so it is difficult to continue writing and writing, and I don't know how to write.

But if the novel has no theme, then the writing will also reach the end of the mountain? So in those days, he had no choice but to re-read the old books again to find inspiration from them, and even if the effort was not in vain, he pondered for a long time, and finally realized that he could write a novel in which contemporary young people are facing emotional confusion.

It's a pity that Mo Ran is not an emotional expert, and in the right and wrong of the word "love", he can't give a particularly correct opinion, so the right and wrong in the book, you don't have to be too serious, if you have empathy, you can smile, if you don't agree, just think about this is just a novel, right to be a pastime after tea and dinner, to kill time, it's really not worth studying.

Some people may disagree with Li Shaohui's attitude towards his career, he obviously has very good resources, but he doesn't cherish them, and in the end he is so-so and has no achievements. In fact, this is a contradictory result of the blending of ideals, reality and personality, and it is also the end of Li Shaohui as a high-minded, pedantic and cowardly scholar, which has been discussed in the chapter of "Spring Festival" in the book.

Writing this, I can't help but think of Zhao Xinlin's evaluation of Fang Hongjian in "The Siege of the City", "You don't hate it, but it's useless", and Cao Xueqin's comment on Jia Baoyu in "Dream of Red Mansions" is also "Pity and live up to the good times, hopeless in the country and at home, incompetent in the world, unparalleled in ancient and modern times." "So for the protagonist of Li Shaohui, I hope you don't have to be harsh too much, just a cowardly scholar.

As for the ending between him and a few girls, a few of them have been clear and clear, and I believe everyone has already understood them, and some are not very clear, and the wise and the wise have their opinions. Love has been a difficult puzzle to crack since ancient times, we are just stumbling and groping in the labyrinth of love, moving forward, the so-called love word, I can't help myself, so in the end, Li Shaohui's emotional ending is also a mystery, I don't know, Li Shaohui doesn't know, and the gentlemen are afraid that they don't know very well, so Mo Ran can only sigh, everything is fate!

But no matter how confusing the ending is, there are a few points in the book that can still be summarized---- there are four things to do in a person's life, the first thing is to recognize yourself, the second is to like a person, and experience the feeling of being willing to give; secondly, we will also be liked, and then understand the taste of being loved and cared for, only after experiencing this, we will really understand the meaning of love, and in the rest of our lives to find the person who suits us and accompanies you to old age, although this person may not be your favorite, maybe not the most love you. But love, how can there be so much perfection, after experiencing the ups and downs of setbacks and sentimentality, you will find that finding a suitable for yourself, suitable for life is the most important, the kind of familiarity of the left hand holding the right hand and the kind of blandness that is integrated into the blood and seeping into the bones, is the most real taste of life.

As for the language style in the novel, I was influenced by two books, and I was deeply inspired by the book "The Siege", and felt that Qian Lao's satire of the neo-Confucian history was unique, so he drew a tiger according to the cat. Later, after reading the novel "Border City", I admired Shen Lao's water-like language very much, so I drew a gourd in the same way, which also caused the language style of this book to change all the time.

Because Mo Ran has also done some research on novels, he knows that the ending of novels is divided into comedy and tragedy. Comedy, in his short-term cognition, always thinks that after laughing, no one will remember it, just like a goose that does not leave a trace, he can't leave a trace of memory, which is far less touching than tragedy, but blindly pursuing sadness is not in line with the purpose of the novel to be sad but not sad.

So later, I silently wondered if I could use a nonsensical comedy to interpret a silent tragedy like "Journey to the West"! Just like "Dream of Red Mansions", there will always be a trace of sadness hidden behind the extreme prosperity to move people's hearts. Therefore, this book is also in the midst of consummation, there are too many helplessness and regrets, in career, friends, lovers, just like in our lives, there will always be all kinds of regrets that make us sigh and be nostalgic.

It is said that a name is a person's soul, and books are actually the same, because I am afraid that the title of the book cannot concisely summarize the purpose of the whole book, and because this is the first spiritual window of the book, it must not be sloppy, so after the novel is written for most of the time, the title of the book has become the biggest problem, and I don't know how to name it for a long time. After racking my brains, I finally had the following options: "Walking and Walking, Scattering", "Passerby", "The Death of the Passerby", "Wind and Snow Moon", "Another Wind and Snow Moon", "Don't Ask for the Return Date" and "Love in the Old City".

At first, I wanted to set the title of the book as "Wind Flowers and Snow Moon", and careful readers may find that the names of several girls who are entangled with Li Shaohui's fate will have one of the words in their names, either explicitly or implicitly, and they can just form the word "Wind and Flowers and Snow Moon". But if the title of the book is "Wind and Snow", then its focus is to write about the emotional story of our generation and our parents' generation. Later, when concluding, Mo Ran felt that if this book only wrote about the tenderness of children, it seemed a little thin, and the theme was not profound enough, so he had been thinking about how to sublimate.

Until a business trip in a remote hotel, looking at the autumn rain in the vast night outside the window, I suddenly felt quite sentimental and lonely. At that moment, he was in the old city, and he suddenly realized that the stumbling and loneliness for so many years was because of the love in his heart, and it was the little love in the old city that made him struggle in hesitation and sigh in loneliness... So later there was the title of the book "Love in the Old City".

When I read the novels later, I found that there are many famous books that explore the profound meaning of the words "old city" and "loneliness--- perhaps they are the eternal melody of life. Since then, Mo Ran has also tasted these two words from time to time and has a deeper understanding.
