CHAPTER XLV
I kind of regretted it as soon as I stepped on it.
Not to mention anything else, this mess of rotten meat is rotten enough, and if I make up for it again, I basically don't have an eye to see...
The shoes made a disgusting sound when they stepped on the flesh, mixed with some subtle crackling sounds, probably the sound of those little ants being trampled by me.
I turned around and prepared to leave, but after thinking about it, I folded it back, picked up a strip of meat from the ground that looked pretty good, and was about to put it in my pocket, so that I could go back and give everyone an explanation.
Then, something unexpected happened.
The moment my hand touched the strip of meat, a cool breath penetrated my index finger, a sensation I was all too familiar with, it was the feeling when I absorbed the special energy!
Sure enough, an electronic voice sounded in my head: "Absorb special energy, ten o'clock!"
I quickly turned over the strip of meat and examined it carefully, and sure enough, there was a small black ant on the back of the strip, which had been trampled to death by the foot I had just stepped on. I accidentally touched it when I picked it up, and I actually absorbed a special energy!
But then again, such a small ant actually contains ten points of special energy? You must know that a female black lion is only one hundred and twenty points, and a swift-toothed tiger is only about one thousand and five hundred points!
But when I thought of the tragic situation after Lao Hei was bitten by an ant just now, I was relieved. The poison of a small ant alone can toss Lao Hei into that bear, and if he is bitten by a dozen ants together, it is estimated that the calf will be finished on the spot.
With the feeling of having found a treasure, I carefully collected the corpses of ants, and when I saw that they were still alive, I made up for them, and listened to the repeated "ten o'clock, ten o'clock, ten o'clock!" in my mind, and my heart was indescribably happy.
In the end, when I opened the upgrade interface, I had collected more than 200 points of special energy!
"Oh, it's a pity that there are too few of them! If only there were more!"
I put the meat in my pocket, patted the dust on my body, walked up to Lao Hei, patted him lightly and said, "Let's go!"
Lao Hei was lying on the ground panting, and it seemed that he had almost recovered, and when he saw me calling him up, he called out a little reluctantly.
At that moment, I saw his gaze fall behind me, and his whole body suddenly stood up with a "swoop" and let out a demonstrative roar in the direction behind me.
I also heard a strange sound behind me, and when I looked back, there were small mounds of earth gradually emerging from the woods where we had rested, as if something was about to emerge from the ground.
I didn't realize the danger was coming, and I craned my neck to take a closer look.
The height of those mounds continued to increase, and when they were about a meter long, I heard a "poof" sound, and the top of the earth suddenly burst open, and I only saw a large pile of black water-like things like fountains, gushing out of it with a bang, and then began to spread to our side.
What's going on? Groundwater erupted?
When the black stuff was about to spread to the soles of my feet, I realized that what kind of black water it was, it was clearly a large black ant.
To be honest, when I first saw these ants, my first reaction was quite happy. With so much special energy to collect, who is not happy? But after a while I couldn't be happy.
There were still a large number of ants popping up in those bulging mounds, and they gathered together to form a huge hill bag.
I watched as the hill grew taller and taller, and wriggled and squirmed towards us. I feel like I'm going to run out of calves if I don't run anymore.
I quickly turned over and rode on Lao Hei and shouted, "Lao Hei, run!"
I don't need to say anything, I just jumped on him and before I could sit down, the girl began to run south.
Fortunately, at this critical juncture, Lao Hei didn't give me laziness, and finally made my heart settle down a little. However, I didn't run long before I heard an overwhelming buzzing sound behind me.
I rode on the back of the old black and looked back, and a huge black mist rushed towards us frantically behind me.
I don't have to guess that I know, damn these ants can fly?!
I'm a DJ, I haven't even talked about a girlfriend until now, I don't want to be here today!
Taking advantage of the fact that the big black fog was still some distance away from me, I quickly asked Lao Hei to stop. This guy was probably too scared, so he just ran wildly, and I tugged at his mane to calm him down.
Turned over and jumped off Lao Hei's back, raised his hand to open the imaging space, and summoned the retainer, "Retainer, turn on the thug mode!
The retainer received my order, pulled out a huge flamethrower from the air with one hand, and two huge red oil canisters appeared behind him, strode forward, and pulled the trigger at the overwhelming number of ants.
A scorching line of fire shot out from the jet in his hand, and slammed straight into the overwhelming black mist.
I heard a crackling and popping sound, and countless ant corpses fell to the ground one after another.
The flamethrowers held by the retainers actually emit a flammable oil, which is lit at the muzzle of the flamethrower and then sprayed. A lot of oil that had not burned completely fell to the ground, and in an instant, a wall of scorching fire more than two meters high was formed, blocking between us and the ants.
I watched those ants rush into the fire as if they were not afraid of death, and I couldn't help but feel a burst of joy in my heart, "Come, you rush into the fire, anyway, the more you die, the more special energy I will get in a while!"
However, it didn't take long for me to be happier, because I found that there were so many ants. One after another, these gadgets rushed into the wall of fire, using their bodies to crush the flames smaller and smaller.
The flying ants were even more cunning, sometimes climbing, sometimes flanking, trying to get out of the range of their retainers' fire attacks. Although the retainers' reaction speed was fast enough, there were still quite a few ants that broke through the family's flame defense line and rushed straight towards me and Lao Hei.
"a DJ, die, die!"
Watching a swarm of flying ants pounce on me, my brain suddenly went into a state of downtime.
Just when I was at a loss and didn't know what to do, Lao Hei, who had been following me and didn't run away, suddenly roared at me, turned his head and ran in the direction of the river.
As soon as I saw his movements, I immediately understood what he thought, but I didn't expect the old black guy to look naïve, but he was actually quite smart.
I instructed my retainers to continue to spray flames at the ant colony, and I ran with Lao Hei to the river, and then plunged headlong into the water. Unfortunately, the river is not too deep, and I had to adjust my posture and lie in the water to completely avoid this catastrophe.
Although these ants may be some kind of special creatures, they are ants after all, and it is impossible for them to burrow into the water and bite people.
I summoned a diving oxygen tank and put it on my belt, and when I turned my head, I saw that the old black guy was staring at me.
Damn, I forgot that this guy can't breathe in water. But what should I do? I don't have an oxygen cylinder for the lion!
When I looked up at the water, I saw that many ants had fallen to the surface of the water, but unfortunately they were all drowned. But even so, a large number of ants rushed into the water one after another, trying to bite me.
I don't know who I'm trying to provoke, what kind of mental illness these ants are committing, aren't I just stepping on the ants? Is it necessary to chase after me like this? How many times more people have died in pursuit of me than I have killed, have you ever studied mathematics?
Fortunately, the water speed of this river is relatively fast, and there are not too many ant carcasses on the water. Otherwise, I'm afraid that these things can rely on the corpses of their companions to do some incredible things.
Turning his head to look at Lao Hei again, he found that this guy was already suffocating. I reached out and patted him at the bottom of the water, and then pointed in the direction of the opposite shore, which means that if it doesn't work, you can swim to the other side, and maybe you can get away with it.
Old Black seemed to read my thoughts. Turning around, he swam in the direction of the opposite shore with four paws.
However, I couldn't swim to the other side, because the river was a bit wide, and if I swam to the other side, the contrast space wouldn't be able to reach the bank at all, and the retainer would disappear.
And if there are no retainers to intercept the chasing ants for us, then even if I get to the other side, I will be chased by the ants and dismembered.
Because the bottom of the water is relatively shallow, I moved slightly towards the center of the river so that I could finally squat up in the water and observe the battle through the water.
The state of the retainers does not seem to be very good, there are too many ants pouring up, flying in the sky and crawling on the ground, all the ants are pouring towards him from all directions, and the flamethrower in his hand can only defend to one side, it is impossible to cover everything.
Gradually, ants began to crawl on his body, and then more and more, gradually wrapping it into a black human form.
The flamethrower in his hand has long been blocked by ants with corpses, and he can no longer breathe flames.
To be honest, I was distressed to see it, although this guy is just a program, but it looks so pitiful. If it weren't for him, there's probably been me who would have been like that now.
I squatted in the water and kept thinking, feeling the flow of water around me, and suddenly an idea came to my mind.
As soon as I raised my hand to put the retainers away, the ants that had been crawling on the retainers before lost their support and scattered with a bang.
I smiled and raised my hand to summon the retainers out of my side. The new retainers remain in thug mode, armed with giant flamethrowers, and continue to shoot hot lines of fire at the ants.
The ants had no idea that the target that had already been surrounded would suddenly disappear, and then immediately after that would appear in another place. The ant colony didn't react for a while, and was sprayed by the retainer's flamethrower.
However, this was only temporary, and the ants soon found a new target and rushed towards the retainers once more.
At this point, I've moved a little further down the river, crouching quietly in the water and waiting. By the time the ants had once again broken through the retainers' defenses and wrapped it in a black human form. I repeated my old tricks, gathered up my retainers again, and summoned them to my side again.
After going through this for a dozen times, the ants were finally wiped out by the retainers' flamethrowers.
However, it is a pity that nearly half of the ant corpses were swept away by the river before I could absorb the special energy.
Standing on the riverbank, I stomped my feet in anger and shouted, "Tyrannical things!
But the good news is that the piles of ant carcasses on the shore are enough to take my system up several levels haha.
