Chapter 22: Mom Falls Ill

In front of my mother, I will always be a child, and in my heart, my mother is like a wall standing silently, a big tree that always stands safely without fear of wind and rain, where there is a wall, you can lean on it to rest temporarily, avoid the occasional winter wind, and where there is a tree, you can stand below in the weather with light rain to feel the cool breath, and look for the footprints of the wind in the hot summer.

In decades of nagging, my mother has become a symbol of a family, and it is the most solid foundation in my heart.

All along, that busy figure is like an eternal existence that will not fade, and I never thought that one day it would change.

However, the time has changed, and the time that never stops has taken away not only the pages of yellowed calendars, but also the sweat of my mother.

As a daughter, I never seemed to think that my mother would also be vulnerable, and there would be times when she would be hollowed out by years and day after day of hard work, but all this really happened, everything was unexpected, and I didn't have time to prepare, like a thunder that fell from the sky, almost breaking my internal organs.

The morning after my husband was drunk, I subconsciously waited for my mother's chopping board, thinking that my mother hadn't gotten up yet, it seemed that it was still early, so I would lie down for a while.

In my sleep, I seemed to get up in a daze, and I don't know when a door opened in front of my bed, gray, without a doorknob, and without any pattern.

I was wondering when someone opened such a door here, trying to wake up my husband and ask, but I couldn't make a sound with my open mouth.

I lost my voice, just overnight. I remember never doing anything, and I was terrified.

Just then, the door suddenly opened, and there was no one there. The air was eerily quiet, except for the sound of my own breathing, deeper, shallower.

I followed the door and saw that it was a narrow road that was dark and invisible. I wanted to turn around and go back to bed, but my feet seemed to be frozen, and my head seemed to be nailed, and I couldn't turn back.

I tried to struggle, but it was all in vain. The road and darkness inside the door were like a gravitational vortex that pulled me in.

I tried my best to control my body, but I couldn't resist the huge gravitational pull. My feet involuntarily tried to walk through the door, and I was desperately leaning back to retreat, and I was sweating profusely.

Eventually, my strength was exhausted, and my feet stepped through the door. The darkness inside the door was like an airtight and airtight black bag, and I felt like I was about to suffocate.

Then, out of nowhere, a voice came out,

"Shen Weilanโ€”โ€”, Shen Weilan-", a person was calling me. The voice was like a mother's, a swallow's, and a daughter's, and I was confused for a moment, and I couldn't figure out who it was.

When I was thinking about whether to say yes, suddenly a hand stretched out in the darkness, the arm was several meters long, thick and powerful, this hand grabbed me and dragged me in, I wanted to escape, I danced my limbs wildly, and suddenly collapsed above, and smashed down something......

"Ahh

"What's wrong?!" my husband was apparently awakened by my screams. As I screamed, I opened my eyes and reached out and touched my forehead, it was wet, it was not yet dawn, but it was already a little gray.

"Xiaolan, what's wrong?!" my husband asked again and pulled down my clothes.

"Oh, it's not dawn yet. I didn't answer, I looked out the window and said to myself.

"Well, what's wrong with you? Do you have nightmares?" asked my husband again.

"Well, I had a terrible dream and woke up scared. "Thinking of the scene in the dream, I couldn't help but curl up, hugged a ball of quilts, and buried my head in it.

My husband hugged me from behind with one arm, then gently patted me on the back and asked softly,

"What kind of dream? so scared. I didn't speak, the whole person didn't move, looking at a flower pattern on the curtain on the window, still a blue lily, unchanged.

"Let's sleep a little longer, it should be early, Mom hasn't gotten up yet. "It turns out that my husband is also used to my mother's rhythm.

Thinking of my mother, I asked,

"What time is it?"

"Wait a minute, I'll look at my phone. My husband got up halfway and went to get the phone on the bedside table.

"It's 6:20!" said my husband in amazement.

"Why did my mother sleep today, but fortunately you asked the time. โ€

"6:20?"

"Hmm. My husband affirmed again.

"Maybe I was too tired yesterday, and I haven't helped much lately, so I'll make breakfast and let Mom sleep in. "I decided to get up and make a simple breakfast for my mom to put down the leave.

"Are you okay? do you want to help?" my husband asked with concern, after last night's chat, he said that he had been hiding for a long time, just like a trash can full of garbage was emptied at once, and he had a rare relief, and began to know how to pay attention to my feelings, and I was very pleased with his change.

"You can sleep a little longer, you drank so much yesterday. "I kept my voice up very gently.

"It's a bit of a headache," he said with an embarrassed smile as if asking for advice,

"Shall I sleep a little longer, then?"

"Well, sleep. I pulled the quilt over him. Dressed, got out of bed and put on my slippers, I walked from my room to the living room, turned on the living room light, walked through the small dining room, and walked towards the kitchen.

As soon as I walked to the kitchen door, a familiar figure appeared in front of me, it was my mother. I rubbed my eyes, yes, it was Mom.

I saw her lying on the ground, her eyes closed, her forehead locked, her face as white as paper, and she was holding a small plastic basin for washing rice, blue.

"Mom!" I cried out,

"What's wrong with you?!" Mom still lay there quietly, motionless.

"Mom, Mom!" I shouted continuously, slowly pushing her upper body and holding her in my arms, tears pouring like a rapid shower, and my heart felt like I had been pricked by countless needles.

"Qiangzi! Qiangzi!" I was so panicked that I only knew to call my husband's name.

"Ahh

"Mom, Mom!" I continued to cry. The husband put his hand under his mother's nose and probed,

"Breathe normally!Let's go, hurry to the hospital!"

"Yes, yes, go to the hospital!" I suddenly came to my senses, which had been frightened. My husband quickly ran back to the room and put on a dress at random, picked up my mother and walked out, I followed closely, my husband suddenly remembered something and shouted to me,

"Hurry up and hug your daughter, I'll take our mother downstairs to call a taxi first, you come down quickly!" At this time, I thought that my daughter was unattended, so I quickly rushed back to the room, wrapped my sleeping daughter with a coat of mine, picked her up horizontally and went out to chase her husband, the door snapped shut behind me, and I didn't care about locking it.

I couldn't take a breath, I ran down from the sixth floor in one breath, I thought I would have to wait for a long time, but I didn't expect my husband to just run into an empty taxi, so my husband hugged my mother, I held my daughter, and urged the driver all the way, anxious.

It was still early, and I was lucky to have made it all the way to the hospital.

"Doctor, doctor! My mother is unconscious, come and save her!" I hugged my daughter, got out of the car and rushed into the hospital to find the doctor, shouting over and over again, while my husband followed closely behind.

The doctor rushed to hear the news, listened to the mother's heartbeat with a stethoscope, opened his eyes and looked at the pupils, and then motioned for the two nurses to help take the mother and put her on the hospital bed with wheels, and quickly advanced to the emergency room.

Outside the rescue room, my husband was sweating profusely and anxiously pacing, walking back and forth, and I sat on the bench at the door with my daughter in my arms, staring motionless

The three words "rescue room", his body kept trembling, and his mind was silently recited over and over again

"Mom, don't be okay!" my daughter didn't know when she had woken up, sat up on my lap, looked at this strange place, and asked in a daze and curiosity,

"Mommy, where is this?" I hugged her soft body tightly, speechless.
