There are many mountains around the company, which the locals call "Five Ridges". Boulder Mountain is the highest mountain at 1,629 meters above sea level. At that time, there was a provincial highway that passed through Wuling, connecting Yutian County and Jiannan County. The zero kilometer at the junction of the two counties is also commonly known as the three-way intersection, and one of them goes straight to the boulder mountain.

The geographical location of Wuling is somewhat special, bounded by Boulder Mountain: one side belongs to Yutian County, and the other side belongs to Jiannan County, so people in both counties say that Boulder Mountain is their own regional range. The fighters of the company were happy with this statement. Because of many festivals every year, the governments of the two places will come to express their condolences; at the same time, the units and schools of the two places will occasionally come to the company to have a party with everyone, adding happiness to the monotonous alpine life of the comrades-in-arms!

Because of the high altitude of Boulder Mountain, there are no ordinary people living above zero kilometers, and there are only two units: the company and the Taoist class. The distance from kilometer zero to the company is ten kilometers long, and the road class is located at 4.7 kilometers of this section.

There are seven or eight main rooms in the Boulder Mountain Road Class, plus a simple kitchen and dining room. There are about four or five regular employees in their unit, and only two or three people stay in the Taoist class in normal times, and only during the maintenance season, there are about 10 family members. They have a four-wheeled tractor, as well as several rickshaws, the main task of which is to be responsible for the maintenance of the road surface from kilometer zero to the company.

In Wang Linlin's memory, the people of the Taoist class were very enthusiastic about the comrades-in-arms of the company, and it can even be said that they provided a lot of convenience and help to the company and comrades-in-arms at that time.

Every time the comrades-in-arms go out or return to the team, if there is no vehicle to pick them up, they need to walk up and down ten kilometers. Whenever everyone is tired, they often stop by the Taoist class to rest and drink water, and they are warmly received every time. Especially when it is windy and rainy, you may take shelter from the rain, eat a light meal, or borrow an umbrella......

In particular, it is worth mentioning the old squad leader of the Taoist class and the driver of the tractor. They are more than happy to help the company, such as delivering supplies to the company, or buying groceries, or picking up and dropping off personnel. Especially in times of emergency, the importance of its existence is highlighted!

The nearest village to the company is Houshan Village, with about 20 households, and the distance is about 10 kilometers, and the nearest township is Yushan Town, about 50 or 60 kilometers......

Imagine how touching it would be to be a lonely person walking in a mountainous area that has rarely been populated for a long time, and if you meet a familiar face on the way, and have a comfortable rest and a warm greeting. In short, the Boulder Mountain Dao Class has warm memories in the hearts of Wang Forest and his comrades.

During the felling of trees, Wang Forest lived in Daoban. What impressed him the most was the old squad leader of the Taoist class and his family, who lived in the mountains all year round. The old squad leader and his lover are both Taoist employees, and they have two beautiful daughters living with them.

The long-term alpine life and labor made the old squad leader look old. He was tall and skinny, but he was mentally strong and very talkative. He once said affectionately: "I have been here since I joined the work, and I have a deep affection for this place. Originally, I was retired, but there was no one to take over here, and then I was hired back by the unit and came back to work here. In addition, several of my children were born here, and they all grew up in bamboo baskets for work when they were young, and we took care of each other while working......"

When it comes to his work, the old squad leader is proud. He said that he had received many honors and awards, and said that his work level was very high, which is rare in the same industry in the country......

The sun is shining at kilometer zero, but the top of the mountain is cloudy and rainy, and the temperature difference between the top of the mountain and here is estimated to be more than 10 degrees, and there are really two worlds: one in the sky and one on earth.

The people living in Fujian basically do not see the snow or watch the snow, but the comrades-in-arms of the company are lucky: because every winter, they can see the snow and cedar wonders for a few days.

At kilometer zero, how many new comrades-in-arms have been ushered in, and countless old comrades-in-arms have been sent away, so this is not only the demarcation point of the region, but also the demarcation point of the climate, and it is also a witness to the revolutionary feelings of all the comrades-in-arms of the company!

Many exchanges in life are often formed by accident and inadvertently, and for those who have a heart, there is usually a lot of understanding and gain!

During the felling of trees in Daoban, due to small talk with Fei Daoquan and other veterans, Wang Forest learned a lot of anecdotes about the company. Especially the ten wonders of Boulder Mountain, he felt that it was a little interesting, so he sorted them out as follows-

1. Ninety-nine bends: from the zero kilometer monument to the company, the total of all large and small bends.

2. Cliff carvings: first chiseled on the rock, and then depicted with red paint. There are many such stone carvings, but only three can be seen clearly later.

2. "Go all out to annihilate the invading enemy." Mao Zedong".

3. "On a day that will never be forgotten, at 4:38 p.m. on 11 August 1968, Chairman Mao met with military and civilian representatives of the Fujian front. ”

3. Tianmen Stone: It is the big stone that is divided into two when the company is about to turn the corner.

9. Wutai Temple: Located on the back hill of the barracks. According to the local villagers, Yang Wulang in "Yang Family General" once stayed here, and combined with the surrounding people to deliver grain and grass to Mu Guiying.

10. Air-raid shelter and anti-air platform: The air-raid shelter is located below the No. 1 position, and the anti-air platform is located on the mountain behind the barracks.

The comrades-in-arms who have stayed in Boulder Mountain should not forget the natural wonder on the mountain - Buddha Light. Below, based on my diary entry on September 11, 1988, I would like to share with you my personal experience at that time.

In the middle of the No. 1 and No. 5 positions, there is a mountain stream, and every time the fog fills and the sun rises, there will be a wonderful Buddha light.

The formation of the Buddha's light requires a specific time, place, and conditions. It usually occurs in summer, autumn and winter, often around 6 to 8 a.m., and requires fog and sunshine.

In the early morning, there were five or six strong winds, accompanied by thick fog. At 7:40 a.m., I stood at about 60 degrees in the northeast corner of the No. 1 position, and saw the sun disappearing or appearing, about three feet high......

Suddenly, the clouds and mist in the sky cleared, and the strong sunlight showed the freshness of the surroundings. At this moment, a golden halo with a diameter of more than one meter appeared in the dense fog in the distance! I stood on top of the mountain rock, just in the middle of the golden ring; I shook my arm, and my arm and body were reflected in the aura, and there were rows and countless repeated overlapping shadows in it...... Dozens of seconds later, the fog covered the sun again, and the aura disappeared.

Later, due to the appearance of the sun, it appeared once or twice, but it was much smaller and shorter than the first. In fact, it is not always the appearance of a halo when the sun returns, and although sometimes the sunlight is strong, there is no halo......

The size of the Buddha's light is irregular. The size of the halo often varies depending on the environment: sometimes it is larger than a dustpan, sometimes it is the size of a washbasin, sometimes it is as small as a dish......

The formation of Buddha's light should be close to the principle of "mirage" in the desert, which is a wonderful landscape formed by the comprehensive effect of sunlight, air and water.

I have been in Boulder Mountain for more than three years, and it is rare to see the Buddha's light. Because of the limitations of many conditions, the probability of the formation of the Buddha's light is very small, and the time for the Buddha's light to appear is often only a few tens of seconds or less, so it is somewhat difficult to watch the Buddha's light. On this day, I was undoubtedly lucky to be able to experience the beauty of the Buddha's light!
