Chapter 33 Military and Political Training

"Unity, tension, seriousness and liveliness" is the fine tradition of the troops. Everyone during the training period will be very hard and tired, but with the right knowledge and understanding, everything will become fulfilling and meaningful.

Beginning on 18 July, more than two months of military and political training officially began.

The main subjects of military training are individual soldiers: resting, standing upright (including military posture training, which is the posture of soldiers standing, with a mighty and upright image), salute, walking in unison, walking in step and running, during which there is also coordinated comprehensive training.

Among the individual soldier training subjects, the training intensity of military posture is the greatest and the most arduous; often standing for several hours at a time, many people tend to fall straight down; I believe that every person who has ever had military experience will definitely have a profound experience! It is precisely because of this kind of training that every soldier will benefit for a lifetime: They have always maintained the good habit of walking like the wind, standing like a pine, and sitting like a clock, and always have a straight waist!

In Wang Linlin's memory, the training period of recruits is described with the words "unity and tension, seriousness and liveliness", which is really appropriate. Because the training tasks are tight and intense, the training time is very tight. At that time, it was basically arranged as follows-

Wake up at 7 a.m. and immediately participate in half-hour morning exercises or running training;

From half past seven to eight o'clock, tidy up housekeeping, wash up, and have breakfast......

From eight o'clock to half past eleven, military training begins (with one or two short breaks in between);

From 11 o'clock to 12:30 o'clock, it is lunch and rest time;

From 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., it is training time (there are also a few short breaks in between);

From 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., it's dinner time;

After dinner, the time is somewhat flexible: there is usually more than an hour of political study, or teaching army songs, or holding class meetings, etc., during which there is about two hours of personal time, and the comrades-in-arms are either dealing with personal hygiene, or writing letters, or reading books, or chatting......

At half past nine in the evening, turn off the lights on time and rest.

There are times when the weather is bad, but training is usually carried out as usual, and in special bad weather, it is time for political study. In short, Wang Forest and his comrades-in-arms were very busy, very much like a spinning top running at high speed.

Holidays (except for special circumstances) are the rest time for Wang Forest and his comrades-in-arms, everyone can freely deal with some personal affairs, and can also walk and chat with comrades-in-arms, but it must be within the scope of the camp. Occasionally, the camp chief will arrange recreational activities such as reading, singing competitions, ball games, etc.

In the first few days, I saw that the front and back of the barracks were all small bald heads, and each of them looked solemn or busy running around, and the scene was very funny. The most interesting thing is that because in the face of a strange environment, facing many strange people, and the constraints of the discipline of the army, every comrade-in-arms seems cautious and mechanical, looking cute and silly;

For people who train, a scientific diet is very important, not only to achieve good training results, but also to the needs of physical health!

In the first two days of arriving in the army, the camp provided meals for the new comrades-in-arms according to the standard of meals, and then normalized was restored. During the training days, the head of the unit increased the food standard for the new comrades-in-arms, but because of the high intensity of the training, there were always people who could not eat enough, so during the training days, everyone used the word "robbery" to describe their meals, which was not excessive at all. As a result, everyone who has had military experience has a very fast eating habit.

During the recruit period, everyone ate in a squad, often a class of new comrades-in-arms gathered around a table, and the veteran squad leaders had other arrangements.

Meals are distributed per person, in most cases a bucket of rice and four dishes in stainless steel basins, while soup can be drunk at will, served in several large insulated buckets and placed in various corners of the restaurant.

In the beginning, everyone did their own meals, but the result was not pleasant every time. Wang Linlin, as the deputy head of the class, was a little anxious, and after some thought, he proposed to everyone: Everyone in the class should take turns to divide the food and eat for one day, and he and the person who divided the food could only take the last two portions. The final result was that everyone was satisfied, and there was also a good phenomenon: some of the comrades who had a small amount of food would take the initiative to give up some meals to those comrades-in-arms who had a large amount of food.

Later, there were still people in the restaurant who were noisy for eating, but Wang Linlin and his comrades-in-arms were laughing and silent.

On the evening of New Year's Day in 1987, a grand dinner was held at the camp, and many leaders of the army also came. During the dinner, there is not only a table full of good dishes, but also rare champagne and drinks. Not long after the meal began, the leaders of the troops toasted everyone from table to table and said some words of blessing and encouragement; when they arrived at the table where Wang Forest was, several leaders could not stop praising them: "Hey, this class is good!"

It turned out that the entire restaurant was basically unchanged except for the table where the chiefs were dining and the table where Wang Forest was located, and the rest of the tables were already in a mess.

The leader of the No. 3 leader was obviously very happy, and he laughed loudly and said, "The soldiers of this squad are well led, and they should be praised!" In turn, he faced the head of the camp and said, "In this case, you should also study and promote." ”

The head of the camp was submissive, and the No. 3 leader asked, "Who is in charge of your table?"

"Report chief, it's me. Wang Forest raised his hand and replied.

"What's your name, and is there a credit for this?" asked Chief 3 with a smile.

"Report chief, my name is Wang Linlin. The credit is not mine, it is the meaning of the comrades in the class. Wang Linlin replied seriously.

"Okay, Wang Linlin, I remember!" The other party first replied with a smile, and then said emotionally: "You are all the best soldiers! I wish you a happy New Year's Day, and work harder and make progress in the new year!"

……

There are a lot of people eating in the camp, but there are only a few staff members in the cooking class, so Wang Forest often goes to the cooking class to help cook. Because of his conscientious and responsible work, several veterans of the cooking class liked him very much, and often praised him, "You are a person with high comprehensive quality among this batch of recruits." At the same time, several veterans will also explain to him some habits of the army, as well as interpersonal relationships and how to deal with general matters. For example, when recruits are recruited, they must be diligent in their careers, they must talk less and do more things, and they must properly maintain the distance between their fellow countrymen and comrades.

On the premise that they got along well with each other, Wang Linlin asked the veterans of the cooking class: "Why do we people always feel that we don't have enough to eat? Is it because the troops lack food supplies?"

The other party shook his head and replied: "Actually, your food standard has increased a lot on the basis of normal, according to normal reasoning, you have already eaten; It is precisely because of this that your diet is scientific, just like a soldier who is about to go to the battlefield, or an athlete who is going to the field, can only eat seven points full in order to perform at his best ability and level. Besides, if you eat too much, you can't train right away, and even if you do, not only will the training not be effective, but especially the body......"

After listening to the other party's introduction, Wang Forest thought it was very reasonable, and the other party smiled and said later: "In the future, you will know when you go down to the company, and you can eat rice at that time, but you can't eat much." Don't worry, in your current situation, once the training is over, each of you will gain weight!"
